CARHARTT sponsor this guy!!! I am buying a pair this fall. Great review!!!
Vernon Deas awesome thank you!!! You’re gonna love em!!
Love mine . I now have three pair. Flex Grey , Carhartt brown, and the flex denim. All 3 great.
J JZ Ive got the flex grey and brown and now I need a pair of the flex denim next!
@@jjz8722 Do you prefer the canvas or the denim? Do you notice one wearing out faster than the other?
@@Nuggetbusterr Ive got three pair now and love the feel of the flex Grey the best but the denim is wearing the sturdiest.
Many workwear brands insist to dress us like a clown.Carhartt understands there is a midway between the rude clothes and the fashion ones.
Honest and complete review.
It always depends on where I have to work. I'm assuming you're referring to high-visibility suits.
They only save your life if you don't want to be overlooked. And then I'd rather wear a suit like that than an ugly safety vest.
I wish more people did reviews like you did this one. Clearly explained all of the specific things you like, not rambling on about nothing for 3/4 of the video to try and reach the 10 minute mark or something. Great review 👍🏻
Noah Gordon thank you Noah! I will forward that to the owner Adam, the one in the video! We’re are very glad you appreciate the video! Please check out our other videos and subscribe to the channel to stay updated on new videos which post each week!
Bro I completely agree with u when it comes to the shape of the legs. Not only do a lot of brands look stupid and bulky.. but I hate working with huge bulky clothing. It gets caught on stuff.. I feel slower.. like your just dragging it around. I have the denim rugged flex carhartt bibs and they are absolutely amazing. Getting these ones next for sure
Thanks Adam. Just what I needed - a clean, lean review, with brief insights about some of the most important features,
and what sets them apart from other overalls.

I was actually looking for a review for the more thermal thick bibs since my husband is out in freezing weather and snow because his bibs that he's had for years has mysteriously disappeared but I had to watch the whole video. You, my man, did a great review. I was sucked in and it wasn't even the product I was looking to purchase. Carhartt should totally cut you a check. lol
Well that’s awfully kind of you! Thanks for saying that! Any help with Carhartt is always appreciated;)
Ya same here lmao
Just bought the same pair Because of this video. Can't wait to get them in and be ready for the winter.
Adam Perez awesome, I’m sure you’re gonna love them!
@@healing2gether i in and out of my truck all day and the flexibility really helps out a lot when I'm moving and climbing in and out. And there is zero break in period! Love em
Adam Perez awesome to hear!!
I purchased the rugged flex double knee pants with some hesitation but they’ve really impressed me. Durable, flexible, and have some shape to them. I was aggravated when Carhartt discontinued the washed duck relaxed fit double knees because they didn’t fit like a potato sack (loose/original/dungaree), but these Flex options are actually a great alternative.
Sins of Carolina you got that right!!
still - a sack of potatoes are a good thing. haha.
That was a useful, concise review; many points made that are important to the consumer. This review is why I will be buying this product.
Great review. I'm always looking for the perfect overalls and your review makes total sense. Thanks.
Steven photog Awesome, glad to help! Hope you enjoy them, let me know what you think
Great review! Thanks for not saying "um" every other second like some other RUclips reviewers.
Well thanks for noticing, and thanks for the comment!!
I bought a pair of the double front rigbys, kinda like these but in pant form, and ur absolutely right, I dint think I will ever go back to the duck material again, they are in fact that comfortable.
User aren’t they!!!
@@healing2gether dude its unreal. I bought some stretchy Jean's like a year and a half ago and was shocked at how great they were, when I saw carhartt made em too? Game over
Finally I found an answer that helped me. My issue with most overalls is theres simply not enough space in the hip/butt/ crotch area. Looks like Ill be sticking with Dickies. That extremely loose git is perfect for working. They dont look nice, but theres absolutely ZERO stress on the seams when I bend down in Dickies overalls. I do drywall and metal framing, so Im CONSTANTLY bending down and doing work on the groud, but not to where I can sit down in one spot. I HAVE to stoop down on one knee at each stud with metal stud framing, unlike wood stud framing where you can just bend over at the waist and shoot your nails in real quick.
If youre looking for hybrid overalls that you can work and go out in, get the Carhartt
If you dont care about looks and just want the best body movement functionality for work, get the Dickies.
The only "bad" thing thats happened with the Dickies is people said I looked like a farmer. 🤣
Thank you for telling us your weight and size!! I am 5,11 169lbs. I am slim, I look for slim fit clothing especially as I age . I don't like most work wear because it is to lose on me. I will most definitely look into these because of you. Thank you!
I like the functionality of overalls and the comfort. I've always had the annoying problem of the straps sliding off my shoulder. So it's pants for me.
Bought a pair based on your review thx! Getting used to them. I always wore light pants. I work in a plant . Saves my other clothes.
Awesome, I’m sure you will love them as I still love mine!!!! Best overall I’ve ever had! I wish they’d make them in black
Solid review dude no bs, very thorough and to the point nothing said was unnecessary

Just got myself a pair in brown after the Ro1 or whatever they called after loving them but wow how much more movement you get made my job (blockpaver) A little easer!!!
Lot of old-school Masons I know I still wear overalls, I think you’re really gonna like working in them!
Ro1 and R08 are design classics. I like the denim versions of the modern ones.
You live in PA too, that’s rad, pa weather is like “here you go, have 9 months of winter :)” I work on a pave crew and it gets pretty cold out, half the time I’m standing in front of the heat from the hopper lol great content! Stay warm!

@@healing2gether for sure bro. Should be getting them in by February 10 hopefully I can get them sooner
I bought the cheapest Carhartt overalls I could find today for about $60; they are not the same style as you show here, but they have what looks like a buttonhole that I decided, with your influence, is a sunglasses dock. Thank you for your video.
Nick Larsen awesome, let us know how they wear!!
That buttonhole was traditionally put there to hold a pocketwatch fob.

I like the look of these bibs. Nice shape to it. Doesn’t look bulky and baggy. Awesome review. Can’t wait for mine coming through the mail.
Arrow Head great to hear, let us know what you think of them!
On my skinny ass it would
dude, I got me the exact thing(except mine is a black duck) about a week ago. And everything you just said is the reason why I've become a huuuge fan of overalls lol I'm liberally wearing as I type this, awesome review and very informative! And as for the ladies, my girl(I could tell) wasn't very excited about the look. But can definitely tell she's growing to like me in it. Again. awesome video man!
Hahah...yeah my wife looked at me funny when we met 16 years ago and I’d wear my overalls in the shop building custom motorcycles etc...but now she’s grown to love them, or so she says ;)
Would you recommend wearing these on a motorcycle in a down pour. Any heat Shields in calf area. Thanks.
@@Jimbobd421 you know what Jimmie, I think they could work but I wouldn’t want to try it. They hold water to much, and get very heavy when wet. I prefer always having my rain gear in my saddlebag for times I may need it.
I love these overalls too, they’re pretty comfy. The one thing I hate about them (or perhaps overalls in general) is when I’m working I have to bend over a lot, picking things up etc. Every time I bend, the straps slide back slightly on top of my shoulders and over time it slowly pulls my T Shirt back to the point where my shirt starts choking my neck, and that can be really annoying to adjust especially when you’re sweating. So all day I’m constantly reaching in my overalls and tugging my shirt forward. I don’t know maybe I need a bigger size.
Big fan of Carhartt as well, they make quality stuff built to last. Worth the extra dough for sturdiness, craftsmanship, and looks.
James K. Kim definitely worth the extra bit for the quality!!
I just started watching some of your videos and I like them all buddy! 👍 thanks for sharing these overalls and I’m definitely buying me two!
keith sniffen awesome, glad to hear it!! We’ve got a few new videos coming out soon!
I just got the full swing active jacket. The jacket is by far my favorite jacket I have owned. It is the gravel color as well. I was wanting a set of bibs to match. These look like they would be perfect. I can't stand stiff overalls. Great review, looking forward to getting these.
steiger 256 awesome, I’m sure you’ll love them! Let us know what you think!
I got a pair. I love em. The only thing they don't stand up well around is a welder. I have welder pin holes in mine.
I got about 10 pairs of the rugged flex pants they’re bad ass pants. I gotta check these out. Thanks for the review!!
Ap A awesome, you’re welcome!
I like the model shown in denim, even if it is quite expensive.
When it comes to work overalls, I'm more in favor of the classic shapes (R01 R08), which unfortunately hardly exist anymore. I bought some in stock.
That probably also has something to do with age, because I like the old ones more than the new ones.
But for the purpose described here, the newer models are no worse.
I agree that there’s nothing like my older original Carhartt bibs, I finally had to retire them mostly from weld burns and such but they were the greatest bibs ever! The one thing I love about these new ones is that out of the box they wear comfortably like my originals did after years of beating them up. Still trying to find some good Carhartt, bibs in black.
@@healing2gether Yes, I still have 3 R01s in black, after that there won't be any more :-(. I still have one from CAT, which I bought 23 years ago.
The fact that the new ones are pre-washed obviously has advantages if they are only used for work.
But I also wear them casually when they are new and when they are washed out and soft, I take them to work.
If you spend much time in Canada or Alaska, you'd swear that Carhartt was the national brand of clothing for those areas. I started wearing Carhartt stuff in 1990 living in Fairbanks AK, with their rugged construction and multiple pockets suitable for knifes, multitools and small flashlights, they can't be beat.
I’d love to visit both Canada and Alaska, definitely places I’d enjoy!! Do you still live out that way? Agree, they can’t be beat!
@@healing2gether moved back to the lower 48 in 2003, but I still wear Carhartt stuff.
Great review dude!!! You give me a great idea of what should I buy. Thanks for your vid! 👌👌👌
Glad I could help! And thank you!
Good review! What size do you wear at 180lbs?
I’m in the market for overalls. I live in Hawaii so I don’t want something to keep me warm. I want something that’s cool, breathable but also durable. I just threw out 3 pairs of pants from target. They were ATGs. Super comfortable but super thin. Blew out each crotch in about 2 months. Had them repaired. But after about 7 more months they tore again. I’d wear regular denim jeans but I can’t squat or climb on a truck with them on. Not to mention the front pockets are useless cause I can’t even fit my hand in there.
Hey man, which island you live on? Wonder maybe these might be too thick for you there...but maybe not.
Coming out to our family reunion there this summer, my wife is Hawaiian
grey is my favorite colour and I have to 100% get a pair. what is your waist size and the overalls size did you buy? I am 32W and 34L. Do you recommend going up to a 34W and 36L for myself?
Which did you end up going boss and how’s the fit
Great video… You and I are about the same size. What size are your overalls?
Nice review! Very insightful.
I'm a designer working on a new model of overalls for the Norwegian Agriculture Cooperation, who produces workwear for farmers and workers across the country. We're looking at a stylish retro pair that can be used both in and outside work. I would love to know a bit more about what preferences you and the other people here have on overalls, and anything you're really missing on current models?
Hey, boy I’m not sure how I missed your comment for two months but I’m grateful to see it now! Really excites me that you’re working on a pair of stylish but functional overalls! I love to check them out when you have them! I would like a better fit overall have you seen my other video on the Carhart overalls comparison??

Hey man quick question - what would you say is warmer the flex rigby bib or the standard unlined duck bib ? Or would you say they’re about the same?
I’d say the duck bib might be just a little bit more warm because of the stiffness especially when it’s windy out the Rigby’s can let in a draft LOL, but I typically wear longjohns anytime I’m not warm enough to sweat.

Grand Cosmos although much less sturdy and stiff as other overalls these seem to hold up to quite a lot of abuse for me, and the comfort and flexibility makes them much less cumbersome to be wearing all day! I think you’ll love them for your tasks!
ive heard they shrink, have you had any problems with this? and did you buy your normal size?

I got everything from people calling me a "fat ass", to saying my daughter was ugly. I was so naive. But before the internet, people weren't as mean as they are now. But, I take what I need, and leave the rest alone. Being dad's (figures) to our kids is about the only hope they have. Sorry, long winded. Thanks for writing back. Have a good weekend!...V
@@VinceBucy You know what buddy, people are complete assholes. And unfortunately I’m trying not to raise my kids with a chip on their shoulder, but the more you stay tune to the channel the more you’ll learn about my life growing up, which was very colorful and challenging. But that’s what made me who I am which is why I don’t shelter my kids from help stupid and ignorant many people can be. But it still makes me sad to hear that you and your daughter went through that we’re trying to share something you enjoy together with other people. Nothing pisses me off more than a bully.
Great review. Thank you.
David Chamberlain you’re welcome!
I would like to order these. But I’ve seen several people say they shrink in the washer/dryer. Did you buy a size up from what you normally wear?
Blake Satterfield they do shrink a little. I am normally a 30” waist so I bought a 32” for a little more room
Build Guild n’ Refine TV awesome thanks brother! I appreciate the help.
Blake Satterfield anytime!
Would you order them larger than your pant size? Or the same?
Take a look at this video where I go into more detail on these overalls, especially sizing;

Ok so if you just wear long Jones for example size 34 in carhart than 38 basically 2 sizes up right?
I’m sorry I don’t quite understand your question but I want to make sure I answer it, will you ask it in a different way? Thanks
@@healing2gether what i meant was how do you size up the bibs 2 size from your original waist size and 1 size shorter on length. Also how does it holds up to wet situations. Will a regular duck denim hold uo and repent water or snow better than this. I wear same style pants but they are thin more for summer than for winter work.
@@atlant2566 OK gotcha, so I just sized up one for each. I went with a 3234 because I thought they would shrink more than they did. But I’m still happy I sized up. But if you watch my other video on the Carhart overalls all three of my overalls or size differently and fit very oddly. But I still love them. These do not repel water the way the ducks do, these rugged flex are just way more comfortable more soft And really just much more enjoyable to wear on a daily basis. I hope that helps, let me know if you have anymore questions. Take a look at this video:

Never owned overalls before. Can I just wear underwear underneath? Also, would you wear the same pair 2 days in a row, or a pair a day?
So I’m the winter I wear thermals underneath but otherwise I just wear underwear. And I typically don’t wash a pair until they’re dirty enough to have a reason to wash them. Depending on the jobs I’m doing I might wear one pair a few days in a row! Did you get a pair?
@@healing2gether Yeah, coincidentally I got the same pair as in the video from Coastal. I just searched “how to wear overalls” and found your video. I got 6 compliments at work the day I wore them. 🙂
@@Hohzaye haha yes!! Perfect man, the compliments just make it all worth a little more!! Great to hear I know you’ll love them!
that was a nice review can u do it on jeans denim overalls?🌹
THE SIMPLE DEVIL thank you! I’ll try to do one when I have some time!
