    I'm a big fan of Round House overalls as well. The first pair I ordered were NOT made in the USA, contrary to all the advertising I had seen, including the ad on Cavender's where I purchased them. Then I found the official website, and they properly differentiate the countries of origin. Much to my dismay, the USA-made versions are not made of the heavier, almost self-edge style denim. Regardless, I'm proud to be able to support the company that still employs US citizens. 🇺🇸

    Lifelong daily wearer of bib overalls in my late 60's now. Through the years it's been Oshkosh and Big Smith until Oshkosh decided to cater to the high dollar crowd and Big Smith decided to go with the LARGER crowd and squeeze out us 40 in waist little fellas. Dickies has been my brand for the past 5-6 years I'll have to check into these Round House overalls and see what they're about. Thanks for the video 👍

They are all USA made of all USA material including zipper and buttons. I don't to look any further for any other brands. I also have two pairs of their carpenter jeans. Great quality. Thanks again for this video my friend.

      My husband used to wear Big Smith until they went over seas. He tried other brands and found one made in Missouri. They are JD's. They are made of the Big Smith patterns. They can be found at Blossers Country Store in Halfway Missouri. Might can Google them. They may have a website. Not real sure. We usually drive almost 200 miles to get his. Good people.

    I wear jeans and a cheap t shirt for my custodial job. Will these overalls wear better than Wrangler Riggs? Eventually hoping to “graduate” to a more vintage look to suite my “old soul”character a bit more.

    • @farmhandscompanion
      @farmhandscompanion  7 месяцев назад +2

      Since I'm not familiar with Wrangler Riggs, I don't know how the "wear" would compare...but the advantage of carrying small tools with you would be the biggest benefit. PLUS...you won't get a more vintage look than a good, faded pair of Roundhouse overalls!

    Many of your videos, you seem to be working very hard in the hot sun, with your jean overalls. Now, I don't have denim overalls but I have tried working in the garden in my denim jeans, and my legs just COOK and sweat nonstop! Have you just "adapted" to the climate or is there a special kind of undershirt you wear that breathes good? Also, do those overalls breath well?

    • @farmhandscompanion
      @farmhandscompanion  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey Cameron, I'll go into more detail at some point down the road, but to hit the highlights in answering your question...
      -despite what things look like on the show, I TRY not to work in the hot, middle of the day sun, but to save those chores for morning (or maybe evening)
      -no special type of shirt, just cotton long sleeve (hat and long sleeve to protect skin from direct contact from sun)
      -grown men never used to show their bare legs in public (ie, shorts), and I'm of that opinion still; nobody really wants to see that, trust me
      -(this may not be a pleasant thought but...) sweat is not a byproduct of difficult work in hot conditions, but a comfort to difficult work in hot conditions; it has a "cooling" effect when your shirt and clothes get wet and you keep movin' (You kinda have to recondition your thinkin' about that fact)
      -yes, I have a adapted to the climate; I prefer our humid and hot summers. It's also kind of fun knowin' nobody's gonna bother you out there because they think it's too blame hot

    I've been wearing bib overalls for years. I like Round House but wish they made a pair with a large bib pocket rather than the 2 smaller pockets. I carry my wallet, cell phone and pocket watch all in my bib pocket and the larger pocket like Pointer Brand had works much better for me. It's hard for me to get my wallet out of the smaller pockets. Also I like a closed top pocket either with a zipper or snap flap. Other than this, Round House are very well made and look good. I prefer the button fly also. I'm like you Pa when I buy overalls I prefer the rigid denim dark blue traditional overalls rather than stone washed. What used to be really popular here in North Carolina was the low or suspender back overalls. Round House made a low back model as well as L.C. King.
