    Nailed it! 👍👍

    Great video as always!
I’m enjoying the Space Crusade videos! I also liked the wet palette camera as well. I think it’s a good addition.
Can’t wait to see them in the flesh?!

Thanks! Gretchins next in this series. I thought they'd be the least interesting, but I've got a couple of things to make it a bit different 👍

Thanks man, appreciate the comment 👍Gretchins up next- I'd planned for them to be really quick but found that their 'soft' detailing needs a bit more work to get a similar result. IMO they're turning into the best of the models painted so far, just taking a bit longer than planned!

I love this style, I think I'm going to do this on the genestealers I have for my 2009 space hulk set.

Looks really nice! I prefer brighter blues and purples for this scheme, but that's just the matter of taste.
Also, genestealers are the models where inks/washes/contrast paints can do a lot of work for us and speed up the process.
Painting up from darker to lighter colors with drybrush or stippling works, but just takes more time.

I like the brighter schemes as well but fancied keeping these fairly dark blue, inspired a bit by the Alien films. I think stippling is great for painting creatures as it would be 'natural' for there to be spots / variations on skin.
These are pretty good models considering they're about 30 years old!

interesting how comparing these to contemporary Citadel Miniatures Genestealers these have dated the least

Yes, these classic genestealers haven't changed all that much. The pose on these old ones was ahead of it's time and super thematic

I only just found my game set in my parents garage, I painted the dreadnought back in the day which is terrible, anybadvuce to remove the old paint without damaging the model?
    Great videos by the way!

It'll depend what paint was used. If you're in the UK and you can handle the smell, try leaving it overnight or 2 in a pot of dettol, then brush with an old toothbrush. I'd try it on a small piece first- it shouldn't react badly but best to be careful. If using dettol, don't use water on the toothbrush- old paint + dettol + water = gloopy mess! If it works ok, leave the cleaned pieces in soapy water and scrub a few times to reduce the dettol smell. It will likely smell a bit of dettol still though
