I don't know why but recently i've got really interested in this space crusade models , i've been watching a lot of videos of people painting the whole set , so cool , maybe someday I'll do it too , in regards I would say exactly what i commented in the other ones , Legend ! Mate!
Great video! So glad i found it - i still have my copy of my childhood Space Crusade back from the 90s. I've had this idea living in my head to redo all the Space Marines with the new dynamic scuplts of the Primaris Space Marines and Captains that are currently available. I was never going to paint the whole board game but after seeing your test models - DAMN! I'm def in two minds now. PS def mix the Orc Chapters, would love to see some Goffs and Badmoonz in there fighting under a Big Waaagh! banner!! Will def check out your tutorial videos on those sweet Imperial Fists!
Thanks! As I've been working through painting them I've realised how good the models are considering their age. Total nostalgia project for me- just wish I could afford a copy of Eldar Attack and Mission Dreadnought!
Lucky! Complete sets go for £100+ these days. I do have one of the big dreads from the set but I remember the eldar turret things in particular from when we played as kids. I'm going to try and play through every mission again from the main set once its painted. Enjoy yours- if you do think of magnetising, be careful as some of the plastic is more brittle. The yellow in particular was on my set
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures cool! Thanks for the advice regarding the magnetising. Invariably a bunch of weapons had the pegs snap and stay inside the miniature so this could be a really useful way to revamp them
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures it wasn't too bad. Sub £100 which I was happy with. Box is banged up but the contents is excellent. Not lucky enough to get the expansions tho.
That's right, 3mm diameter, 2mm deep. 3mm diameter just fit, any bigger wont work. You could get away with a smaller magnet on the weapons, i just found it easier using the same size for everything
Thanks! Any brand will work, I got these on ebay. They are 3mm diameter and 2mm deep. Any bigger will be too big, this size is ok but you need to be careful when drilling as they are JUST small enough. You could use smaller ones if you wanted to magnetise both hands but I don't think it necessary.
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures Just one question .. why you dont use 3mm x1mm Magnets? Is there Something i dont See ? For me 1 mm would be more easy to get Them into the Minis or Not ? Best regards
Yes that should work fine. I used 3mm x 2mm as I already had them and they make a nice 'snappy' bond. 3mm x 1mm should be fine but won't be quite as strong. Probably the ideal combination would be 3×2 in the body (where there is more room for error when drilling), then either 2mm x 2mm or 3mm x1mm in the guns (so the drilling is easier). The 2 main things to plan is to make sure the polarity is correct on all the parts so they can be swapped correctly, and to drill very carefully, especially on the guns, to dry not to accidentally drill right through
Painting miniatures is physically impossible for me. It's just too small and finicky. Regardless of how much effort I put into it the minis all look terrible, like a small child is responsible. Painting them is easily the worst part of the hobby in my opinion. So much so that it almost puts me off the entire thing.
Nothing wrong with doing a coloured spraypaint basecoat, an all-over wash, paint the base and call them done. There's a few other techniques you can do to produce good looking 1 main colour boardgaming models while ignoring ALL the details. GW Contrast Paints are good for this. I like sets like Space Crusade where the plastic is different colours- you don't even have to paint them at all if you dont want to but still get some flavour from the models.
Try just spray painting/priming them with two colours. Orcs for example, spray dark green all over then a light spray of pale green/yellow directly from above. It gives great contrast, takes just a few minutes and is miles better than just grey plastic.
I really enjoyed watching this video, thank you. Now to find the rest 😊
Great video, wonderful Background- Music. Greetings from Quedlinburg in the Middle of Germany.
still have my set - absolutely adored playing this game with my brother and cousins (back in the day)
I have real fond memories of playing this too, the project is going to be a nostalgia trip for sure!
The hint with magnetic is awesome :D
Just purchased a set on ebay, will be watching the videos before diving into painting for sure.
Love the painting and basing going on here! good job!
Just found your video, really good. I never played it but do have an assortment of models and incomplete game box (courtesy of ebay).

Yes dude.
We never did finish our campaign did we?
Definitely one of each for the Chaos Space Marines.
Can’t wait to see what you do next.
not even just vintage Games Workshop, but vintage MB games
Just picked up a box on eBay after losing touch with the box I had as a kid. Amazing game. Excited.
Awesome! If it was a complete set, did you have to take out a mortgage or did you get lucky?!

That's a fair price. The expansions are selling for silly money on ebay. Every time I got to a carboot sale or charity shop I'm always hopeful...
@@NoProcrastinationMiniatures the dream eh?
I'm thinking just a piece of metal on the weapons might be cheaper. That way only magnets for the figures would be needed... food for thought (burp 😊)
I had this
what size magnets?
oop, looks like 3mm
