I got this phone 5 days ago,coming from Iphone 13 pro here in the US. This is the best phone I ever had not adding anything crazy just pure sony camera power. The reason I got it is because of Olle saw is videos and then the one from xperia 5 V on the cabins, I was so amazed that I bouth it without any hesitation. My wife has the iphone 15 pro max and we always grap the xperia for pictures on this 5 days since I got it, for me that says a lot.

I have the Xperia 1 III, but I don't want to upgrade to the 1v or pro-i which are optimized for photography🫤, not videography🎉.
The V is optimized for video compared to the III. It has the video ography pro app in addition to the cinema pro app and the sensors are quite capable of recording EXCELLENT video. It records at an extremely high bitrate so the video footage excellent.
@@CeeJMantis I record 4k120f on the 1 III also on the main sensor, at high bit rate. All you have to do is get the videography pro APK .
@@Vamanos46 I have a 1 IV, and decided that the myriad small improvements were worth it for the upgrade to the 1 V.

If only it could output images with greater resolution, I would seriously consider this smartphone as a replacement to my current mirrorless camera..
PLEASE SONY!!!! In EU we need the 25p but also 50p & 100p at least from SONY (iphone offers 25 & 50p)
If they would extend support and security updates to match Google or Samsung the ROI would be greatly increased.
We also shoot video in Europe... and Sony does not support 50p and 100p but they support 24 25 30 60 120. Should we say thank you for 25p? iphone offers PAL MODE 25p and 50p
Why sony phones not available in India?
Still waiting until i can buy it. Release Date in Japan was 14.07. but you still can't buy it anywhere.
Shipping date was delayed to 20.07, then 25.07, now 05.08. No shop nationwide has it in store.
Some people say its due to the ghosting issues, several people experience heavy ghosting but of course, as expected, there is no statement, no information, whatsoever. The same with the NW-A300 issue or the WF-1000XM4 battery issue. So many issues, no statements from Sony. People are constantly in the fear "Will it get repaired or just ignored until the next release?" and of course, are not buying again.
If i can't buy it on 05.08., i will just buy a different smartphone alltogether too.
My NW-WM1ZM2 had issues on the 4.4mm port with the relays that turned out to be a well known issue affecting several people, my Xperia 1 II has overheating issues since day one. My Sony a7R IV had issues with image stabilisation causing blurring images instead of preventing them and i remember well all the soft lockups on my Sony a99, the Xperia Z that broke its back glass by itself due to heat and so on.
Im sick of living with half finished products for insane high prices way above every competition.
Sony's marketing sucks!. While they cater to a particular niche audience, they could greatly benefit from enhancing their marketing efforts and promoting their products through television commercials. By doing so, Sony could increase awareness among a broader range of consumers and potentially challenge the sales dominance of competitors like Samsung, Google, and Apple. Unsurprisingly, many individuals are unaware that Sony even produces smartphones.

The goodness of its camera and display is eliminated by the fact that the phone gets just 2 years of security patches and OS updates. It is not 2013 and 2 years of support is not okay for such a high price. 1 III a flagship device from the 2021 doesn't get an android 14? its sick! its a phone sony, It should be connected to the internet and used for contactless payments, store sensitive data. It's not an alpha camera which have other type of risks.
I want to switch to the Sony's smartphone, but the fact of insecurity because of the short support time make me frustrated. Just look at samsung, google or maybe apple!
What is wrong with this whole phone department? It was already moved under the alpha's management years ago! many things became better, but not the quality of software device support.
God damn it 21.9 screen sony. What an ugly phone this is. Please stop don't do it.
