I bought a radio link for one car that I needed to TXRX for and now I'm converting everything else I own over to it. It's simple, effective, the receivers are cheap and everything just works. The only thing I don't like is the antenna but I'm in the process of swapping that over to a stubby. It's going to reduce the range a little bit but the thing has such good range that is not going to matter
Great comparison and information! I use a lot of different remotes. I can’t use the stock XMAXX Remote I use a dumbo, it is amazing! I need to be able to turn down the power. At 50% tires explode. But I use the traxxas on my Arrma Typhon. I haven’t had good luck with the flysky. It never keeps the calibrations, always fighting it. 👍💯
I’m impressed for the money, with the radio link. Has a lot of features to customise your car response and feel etc…. I like the look of the high end fly sky stuff seems a bit overkill unless you are a solid RC racer
You were talking about Traxxas the next one you need to buy is the Minimaxx 4s and put the wide kit on it I would say it is the toughest RC out of the Box I've used and I'm 51 years old 🤣 i usually jump it 30-40 foot in the air and I'm not a pro haha and have had several bad Landings LOL and I have never broke nothing yet🤞😁
Dumbo is great for the money, lol I have 6 of them and seem to work better than any spectrum system I’ve had. Id like to use just 1 controller like most people but my family always goes out with me so not ideal.
Quite a radio collection there brother. I have quite a bit myself LoL 🤣. Tactic TTX300 was the best RTR radio I've ever used. Still have a couple for back up. STX2 has gotta be the worst of them all LoL 🤣. I have been very happy with my Radiolink RC6GS V1 and V2. Just recently got the futaba 4pm to try.
I bought a DX5C and never used it, ended up giving it to my brother because at the time the DX5 Rugged Orange body was released and got it. Most of my traxxas RCs still use the transmitters they came with. All my Losi's and Arrma are linked to my DX5 Rugged. I still use the DX2e with my boat. Ive got a whole tub filled with the original transmitters. I should sell them. As far as what you said about having all the RCs on one transmitters and the transmitter breaking, i never thought about that. Lol. I only had 1 transmitter fail on me and that was the Traxxas TQi linked to my Revo 3.3. Ive only used Spektrum and Traxxas transmitters. Even have a Spektrum DX8 G2 for my planes.
@@BarstoneRC did you soak it in rice? I have submarined at least four of them on my crawlers with no problems. Slight side effects directly after until I did the rice soak for a few days, been using them for at least a year plus since then.
to someone who can't afford any of those fancy pants radios the GT3B is a far cut above any RTR radio's i've ever seen and in the five plus years i've been using my GT3B my cars have alway turned, started and stopped when i've wanted them to so can't speak to the kind of delay you referenced. as for the GT3B's extra weight, while i concede it does weigh more with the extra batteries, it's not enough more that it should bother an average adult. The only real complaint about the GT3B is the abysmal battery life but once you do the $2 voltage regulator mod the GT3B's battery replacement interval goes from once every couple weeks to once every 6 months of more which is perfectly acceptable to me. We poor people are used to having to make less be more so to that end the GT3B fits perfectly, it's a good poor persons radio......
Well it’s not just about the price point and the only issue I really had with that. Radio was the delay but it’s like most things if you’re used to it and you don’t know what other controllers are like you don’t notice it and I also might have had a flood radio because I had many different issues with it but I liked the feel of the radio.
Honestly love my GT3B, super quick response time (for me at least), never caused a crash for me, and I actually use it in a 2wd race buggy, it's a big boy though. Eventually I will change my race buggy for a futaba, but the gt3b will always be my basher radio lol
Great review 👍 I'm actually looking for a new transmitter for the 6s Exb. Currently use the Dumborc but it can make my cars drive away sometimes. Will check out that Spektrum DX5
Exactly the video I was looking for. I actually picked out the Flysky FS-GT5 and the RadioLink RC6GS V2 for my new RYFT. Well, Your great video was very timely...So I am ordering the RadioLink. Thank You so much for helping me make a informed decision.
Thanks for making this video. I'm currently looking to upgrade my transmitter. I'm looking at both the Radiolink RC6 and the Spectrum DX5c. Is the Radiolink good for bashing?
I really like the old weird looking tactic transmitters Arrma used to package with their cars, second to that the hpi I forgot the number but it really isn't half bad. Imo for an rtr transmitter I think the kyosho sychro is the best overall. As for cheap aftermarket I've had great luck with flysky's old GT3B my only complaint is the cheap feel and it needs 8 aa's but for the price you cant expect anything amazing. I just bought a new g7p so I'll be seeing how that one works.
Interesting video. The tactic two stick receivers were in my rcs a few years ago & they were junk, (trying not to swear) They seemed to die every two years and make the rcs run wild, which stunk because me being in a wheelchair, I couldn't fetch the truck, unless it hit a house or whatever. The guy who totaled the stampede told me about the fly sky two stick transmitter combo, which is in ALL my cars now. So fair so good. I've have all of em set to that one, making bloody sure the failsafe is active cause I don't wanna be going down my street on my chair's fastest speed, chasing the rc!
I wonder if the new 10 model dumbo is a winner..i have flysky..never new it had bad reponse time..i ran many boats and cars on it over the years always seemed very fast and solid..i also did away with the 8 batteries over 12 years ago and use 3s lipo to power..
I cant understand the money grab with spektrum why cant the dx3 bind multiple cars like the Traxxas tqi? If you want to update the dx5 its a 25 dollar cable!! I tried the dumbo might be good for dirt and bashing but I cant get it to stay straight to save my life the trim goes too far one way or another it is backwards too right goes left vice versa and the gyro has too much wag not good for speed runs
Nice comparison. My fav stock Arrma one is def Tactic TTX300, simple and trusty. Traxxas TQI works fine plus it got the extra features with BT. Spectrum DX5C, robust but a bit clumpsy and fiddly menus. My top fav since a while back, Flysky Noble NB4, wow, just perfect, if you get a chance, try it out !
Question: will the flysky receivers bind to the radio link remote? Wife has that fly sky remote and thinking of switching to a better remote. Trying to find one that binds to flysky receiver's? Thanks hope to hear from you.
Thanks alot for this video, nice mancave with rc stuff! I will probably got for the Dumborc controller, i was close to pull the trigger on the flysky gt5. But Dumborc is cheaper and better to start with a easy cheap that works. def a sub from me. will think of you when i hopefully renovate my Top Force 1991 Tamiya and drive it for the first time with the dumborc controller!

I like the GT5
