I'll stick to my flysky gt5 love that radio. It has been great so far. No racing just bashing and having fun. But nice review before I buy I always check your channel. Your honest opinion has helped over the years. Thank you!
I bought this with (Absima branded), I think it felt snappier than the GT5 it replaced. The Absima comes with a foam wheel which is nice. For my skill level I think this is brilliant.
2 years down the road, do you still feel this is the best controller under $100? Looking for a controller for my race vehicles. Thanks, and love your videos
I will say i use a g7p to this day and i love it. Just simple to use and does the job @macmccartney5760 Ps. This is my 2nd channel that im reaponding from lol. 😅
Ive been rocking banggood for years, still the best place to get cheap jx servos, Brushless motors, Radio systems. Thanks for the review. Im almost done my team Corally Kronos xtr build. I got a 4082 1720 rocket, Max 8, jx ecoboost servo, Im just deciding on a good budget radio and 6s lipo. So perfect timing for your video to drop..
Picked up one of these for my son and that plastic wheel had to go right away. Couldn’t find the optional Flysky one anywhere so I bought the Yeah Racing Type A wheel and it bolted up perfectly.
This is the review I needed to see it’s like it was made just for me . Answered every question or doubt I had about this transmitter 👍👍 you just cost me $130 au$ lol
Just ran into this video, having had my G7P for 3 months now. Note that Absima ANT receivers seem to work OK, but probably only easily available in Europe (Absima appears to be rebranded FlySky). I have my G7P hooked up to Absima CR4S 4-Channel receiver R4WP Int. for a couple of buggies. No problem binding etc. I agree about the battery issue. I think it's an issue of dimensions of Amazon rechargeables vs AA spec. AA non rechargeable fit and work fine. I "fixed" mine by throwing some extra metal between the batteries and connectors.
It's hit and miss with the batteries. Some rechargeable ones work fine, others don't. I am recalling from memory but I believe my IKEA ones don't work but VARTA is fine, except for their recycled envinronmentally friendly ones:D Not a big problem once you find 8 batteries, 4 for use and 4 to be charged in the meantime. But it did make me think the transmitter was dead when I first tried it.
The problem with the GP7 as well as GT5 & the new NOBLE was that they were not backwards compatible with their older receivers / protocols. If people have to buy new receivers for all models anyway, they will look at other stuff on the market. Shot themselves in the foot. Their iA6 'was' backwards compatible & that's why I bought one.
I now have a Spektrum DX5 Rugged and by far the Spektrum menu is the most archaic menu ever. It reminds me of MSDOS. Couple that fumbly menu with the touch pad and wow what crap.
$70?! Great value! Here in Canada the G7P is actually more expensive than the GT5 ($135 vs. $105). Still, hard to beat this radio for price and features. Don't know that I'd trust these for racing though (I'd be much more comfortable with one of the more common communication systems) but perfect for bashing or crawling 👍
When it's not broken, it has great features and is nice to use. I'm waiting on my 4th radio under warranty now. #1 was the battery issue. #2 also had it so I just kept it. Then the steering started twitching and flaking out. #3 The steering centering spring just broke - plus I can see the steering starting to twitch slightly again. Anyone know where to get the right replacement potentiometer? Says "HJ and B5K 90deg" Sick of returning it. At least you can export/import you models and just have to rebind.
Thank you for great review. Would love to see you demonstrate how you check for steering linearity. I have the GT5 and can’t see it. You also mentioned this radio maybe faster than a sanwa and spectrum. Which models were you referring to? Thank you again!
I've also got the same problem with light tap and it resets itself. I'm afraid to take it to my local track because it's situated next to the lake and if the radio resets itself, my car will end up in the water. In this price bracket I highly recommend you check out the Radiolink RC4GS. I would really love to hear your opinion on that. The V3 just came out and to me it's the best value and reliability out of everything in this price range. What it lacks in crawler mixing and servo frequency setup it gains in speed steering setup and 30 models memory.
I've got a review of the RC6GS. For the battery, non-rechargeable AA's work fine on mine, I also put a little solder on the connector so that it sticks out more for my NiMh AA's.
Great review. I was so happy with this radio at start, but after few weeks it developed extreme jitter on the steering, and some on the throttle as well. bummed me up because I used the gt5 for years without any issue. also I have the battery issue as well, moved to lipo so solve it
Looks like a nice radio. Unfortunately, I've been having range issues with my FlySky FS-GT5 6CH radio. Have you experienced that with that particular radio Razor? My vehicles are not even that far away and my Rx antenna is outside like it's supposed to be. Even if I raise the antenna on the Tx, it doesn't help. Maybe it's the rechargeable batteries I'm using? But I use those same batteries in my Spectrum DX5C and DX5 RUGGED with no issues 🤔. The newer stock radio from the V3 Granite gives me range issues too. I'll try them with good non rechargeable batteries to see if that helps. Thanks for another great video!
I have a arm a big rock want a better feel for my hand but new to this stuff. Want something that’s easy to hook up to whet I have in truck. Any help. Like I said I’m 56 all new to this stuff.
Would have been nice if they kept the same receiver platform.. Unless there are crazy enough benefits over the last platform.. I love my Flysky gt5.(well for my bashers anyway)
product has lots of features but its a super cheap radio, a slight tap will reset the radio (turn off/on) and a slight share makes the steering server jitter.. . I have had 2 of these radios and they both have the same problems. I can see lots of others reporting the same problems. For myself, I will not be getting another of these, I would recommend looking towards a different unit until (if?) they improve the build quality.

I got replaced my spektrum dx5d rugged for this sytem. Best choice i made. So much easier to use.

Dumbo ddf350 ❤
Dumbo ddf350 , the g7p is just as good though , it has stability control, the dumbo only has 10 memory slots for different cars. This has 20

After blowing 120$ servo im going back to jx ecoboost same performance for cheap
Smart max 8 is only purchase dosen't pay to buy knock off stuff

Yup, that’s what I run. It sticks out a bit, but not too bad.
Mine came with a foam wheel.
It's upgraded now

Haven’t been into rc long but I started with the noble then picked up a gt5 this week way better than the gt5 thanks for the video
You sound just like Kyle Douglas pro archer.. wow it's crazy..
Exactly the same

I'm new to the hobby. Can you explain what you meant when you said you had to add 3% expo?
Nice review! I'll be at Nor-cal later today.. thought that track looked familiar haha!
I now have a Spektrum DX5 Rugged and by far the Spektrum menu is the most archaic menu ever. It reminds me of MSDOS. Couple that fumbly menu with the touch pad and wow what crap.
Yeah, I don't recommend the Rugged for that reason... and it costs way more than a DX5C even though it's 90% the same!
@@RazorRC same menu but they crippled it by putting that wonky pad on there
Oh man did I need this video! Thank you! New SUBSCRIBER!!
Thanks for the full review!!

Nice radio unit the stering started giving me problems unable to get help so far
The problem with that is where are the receivers? I can't find extra receivers just by their selves.
Thank you for great review. Would love to see you demonstrate how you check for steering linearity. I have the GT5 and can’t see it.
You also mentioned this radio maybe faster than a sanwa and spectrum. Which models were you referring to? Thank you again!
MX-6 and DX-5C. Linearity is hard to tell unless you run several different radios back to back, then it's obvious.
I've also got the same problem with light tap and it resets itself. I'm afraid to take it to my local track because it's situated next to the lake and if the radio resets itself, my car will end up in the water.

@@RazorRC Thanks. Also found your review on RC6GS.
I like my FS-GT5. I only wish it had a lanyard hook. Lol. My Noble Pro is awesome.
For the price this is pretty epic
Awesome review, appreciate you taking the time to do a through review! Will this wok on my Traxxas Slash 2wd?
yes
Great review. I was so happy with this radio at start, but after few weeks it developed extreme jitter on the steering, and some on the throttle as well. bummed me up because I used the gt5 for years without any issue. also I have the battery issue as well, moved to lipo so solve it
oh and another thing, I measured it to be 8ms faster than the gt5, which is nice.
Nice, thanks for the info, which lipo did you go with? I've been having a hard time finding one that fits.
@@RazorRC I'm using both the 350mah from the SCX24 and a 650mah CNHL "MiniStar". even the 350mah one holds fine for a full racing day.
how is it holding up now?
@@RazorRC did you have issues with the radio losing all the settings? If so did the firmware update fix it?

I haven't noticed, but i don't go long range with the radios.

This would work great 👍
Abs? Dummy terms... like anti lock breaks ?
I would like to know how it handles long ranges in a city(Lots of 2.4GHz interference).
My Flysky FS-GT5 loses signal in such places.
The biggest problem I see is that it makes my gt5 receivers obsolete, because it is a new protocol.. A bit of a pity, being the same brand.
Would have been nice if they kept the same receiver platform.. Unless there are crazy enough benefits over the last platform.. I love my Flysky gt5.(well for my bashers anyway)
Me too I didn't see any difference in performance next to my futaba , I guess need to be racing to notice
Cash grab
Btw beaver has the same problem with his controller and it resets with a tap because of failing battery connection

SVC? ABS? AFHDS? WTF? LOL I’m new here. Is this going to work with the stock receivers for scx24, trx-4 and wltoys 124017?
I think I will stick with my get 5 I like the features more of the gt5. Like svc and abs the feel of the get 5 to me is way better.
Hi. Is it possible to assign a Channel (to manage a winch) to The tr-1 momentary Button? Thanks
Radio link any good?
Would you recommend this for my crawler
Where did you get the foam wheel cover?
Cool. TY. Been looking for a decent affordable radio. The older Flysky was one ugly duckling. This one is much nicer looking
There is a version with a foam steering wheel
Ah yes, mine has the same battery problem with rechargeable ones. Pretty serious oversight if you ask me.
Mine came with the foam steering wheel cover
a very good radio very nice
Not bad
Hi there. Just a quick question. This one or the dumborc ddf-350? Thanks
dumbo
👍
How the best ude have no tsm with this
it's got SVC
Radiosky rc6gs is a better option
WTF rc does explain alot on this and nb4. Check him out if you are thinking about this.
