I have a m17 too, the Nobel is so much nicer. Much better build quality, feels nicer, interface is way better, screen is better. Maybe the sanwa is a bit quicker I don’t know but I can’t tell any difference .
kev? why are you here? Are you becoming a racer?😂
@@MattiaCelegato been doing casual racing for years bri
You know in your heart the Flysky will absolutely help you win on race day 😅
@@KevinTalbotTV I hoped you would start doing it seriously🤷♂
An M17 won't factory reset itself while charging and delete all of your models and settings like the Flysky will. It is a big problem with their line up. I had to punt my NB48 Pro after the third time it happened.
The battery base USB-A port is for charging other devices, it's a battery bank. The USB-C is for charging it up or for use as a game controller, and in the grip is the radio battery that recharges off the battery bank base.
Thanks for the clarification!
Today was the first day of INS14 Finals at Hoosier RC Hobbyplex and it’s seemed like everyone had an NB4+ It’s crazy how fast they took off
I’m left handed, I’ve always struggled with pistol grip transmitters. I brought the OG nb4 and I have to say for racing it’s changed my whole experience. I jumped up a class over night. Having that ability to move the wheel to left handed is a game changer. It also helps it’s a stupidly good tx. £30 for a receiver and same ms response as the mid range alternatives.
Perfect timing. Love my M17, but hate the interface. Been looking at maybe switching.
Now that you have the most-used radio in 1/28 scale racing, when can we expect a video on those cars?? 😉
I don’t know what I would do with one of those 😂
@RyanHarrisRC that's okay, not many people do because it's an entirely different segment of RC car racing. It takes a lot of precision in terms of setup and driving, but if you can race 1/28 scale successfully, everything else seems easier. It's an awesome skill-building tool.
The fact that you can adjust the angle so BOTH hands are optimal, is a gamechanger.
The RX's are cheap and compack too
I started running one of these this season. I was coming off of the much cheaper flysky gt5, it was certainly a noticeable jump from that. I'm super happy with my purchase. Welcome to both the flysky and Tekno dark side. Now to upgrade my 2.1 buggies to 2.2s lol
The gt5 radio got so much lagg its not funny, had to start turning in my buggy 2 yards before the turn to make it, got a futaba 3pv and cant feel any lag in that radio.
The only much more worse then gt5 is trx radios holy moly those are so slow they need to ride in the short busses 😂
Another great product review Mr. Harris! I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos. You talk with true honesty and really appreciate your ability to explain things in a way that I can connect so well with. Please continue to do what you do. Thank you!
Hi Ryan! I was almost sure I would get one to replace my FG-RS3 for my XB8E... Now I'm totally sure!
Thanks for this excellent video (as usual).
Thanks from the south of France!
It's a seriously nice radio. It's wild to me they're still selling RXs for over $800.
Love this video I enjoy watching your race footage because you explain things in a way where I understand what happened and what you did to continue your race
I've been using my NB4 for over a year now with my on-road touring cars and all my off-road buggies and sct.
Such an amazing unit to use. So much adjustment available at you finger tips.
Props on the Mark Martin shirt!
My full size asphalt Late Model is a Mark throwback. He's the man! 💪😁
LOL Maybe we've stood next to the same racers as I hear that "booiiing" and just wonder how the heck is their car not flipping out off the track. Ha.
Exactly! 😂
i switched from a sanwa mt4s and the change was night and day this flysky radio is amazing
I have fly sky its a good raido system
I absolutely love my NB4+
What I’ve been saying about these TX for the last 3 years!!
This change has been in the back of my head for a while now. I have an old mt-44 and can’t get my self to pay for the receivers. Considering to switch to fluky his
Ply due to the price of receivers
You can check dasmikro for cheap sanwa receivers, but the noble is definitely a good choice
It's a nice radio! Got the 1st version, when it was released years ago (in 2020 for 130€ !) and i felt connected to the car just like with my Sanwa. Menu and settings are much more userfriendly with the flysky! Would love to see the newer brighter display as a spare part, so i can update my old nb4.
I'm pretty sure you can buy the updated screen for the older radios now. WTF RC I think is the RUclips channel that goes into the details on how to do it.
I don't think u mentioned that the wheel going from the left side to right side would be for someone who is left handed.
It’s obviously great for that specific reason! I was more saying it’s not an adjustment most racers will continue to flip between on race day.
Ryan are you going to try RC Drift? Maybe you can make one...
Probably won’t put any budget into one of those. Focused on a strong 1/8 program for next year! But if someone sent me a setup to review…
I just got mine 3 weeks ago!! It's so nice!!
Ryan Harris get the EB48 2.2 mine just came in the mail today I'm so excited to put it together this weekend
Thanks for the video Ryan! Did you used the 2ch fast mode without telemetry in your test?
I believe so!
I have a 10px and I bought my son an nb4+. I would have a hard time buying the 10px again after using my son’s noble for the price.
Granted, I'm newly returning to the hobby after 20 years, but I bought the NB4+ and absolutely love it. It's hard to find "accessories" for it right now. But if I had to do it over again, I would have bought the NB4+ PRO.... Just for the included case. I bought the case seperate and it was like $80 alone. Then the $15 aluminum screen protector and battery butt stop enclosure. The PRO comes with some more features, most I'll never use, but the case is nice with perfectly cut foam/extra pockets/etc.
I would love to see your opinion on the radiomaster mt12. Especially with low latency ELRS
I just picked one of these up. I'm glad I got something that's worth it. Amazing work as always. Just getting into racing and live the content. Keep it up.
I've been loving the NB4 Noble since it first released with 4 channels. Firmware updated to 8ch and a second RTR version with my Traction Hobby Tank 300. Heck yeah the GT3 worked good but the touch screen is so nice to setup. The buttons and scroll wheels are so good for all the extra functions on a RC car. Work fantastic on my RC boats as well. And I just have fun driving my stuff around. And people used to call it an expensive radio but it's a lot cheaper than current best spektrum "garbage".
Dude! What are the odds of you posting this video?! I ordered mine 2 days ago and am waiting for it to show up on Monday! Hope it’s as good as everyone says! I’m gonna be using it with my Tekno SCT410 2.0
Can we see the difference between richard Dean laps from both. The PIP is covering his laps.
U going to luv it.. nb4 just work's , I have been running it a year no problems, nb4+ has all the nice colors, plus some goodies, 👍🏽🏁,, blessings from TDEE Hobbies Rc lifestyle
Steering wheel, I like it I'm ambidextrous, but I do prefer left-handed for technical or what am I trying to say controller preference I have made my own left-handed Wii controller. Looks identical Denny other controller except it's fluorescent green and it is made for my hands which are large Palm, normal length fingers, and super fat fingers. T6 anodized aluminium.
I have a 10PX and love it compared to my 4PX. I like rhese nobels but I’m scared to buy one because I’ll probably like it.
First off Ryan I have loved ur videos for years. Can’t get enough and I watch as soon as I get a chance to see when u post a new video. I’ve been able to experience a radio making me faster and how it connects u to the car. I’m using an m17 now as well and I love it. Would love to try the fly sky. But I want to see u test it in the opposite direction now. Go from the fly sky back to the m17 and let us know how u feel.
There was a time about five or so years ago when you would get laughed at and no respect if you used a fly sky radio.
I bought mine because at the time I couldn't justify 500+ dollars for a radio.
I won several races and never had a problem.
Boy have times changed
Hmmm, i wonder how it would compare to the radiomaster MT12
I have the pro plus it's absolutely fantastic. Only issues are connecting it to my computer to update, it is SUPER finnicky
I noticed a nice linear feel especially steering when I switched. Former radio is a Sanwa M44.
I picked up the OG Noble in 2021 when I started racing. Had to drink the m17 kool aid and ran that for a few years. Always hated the size, battery life and interface. Decided to try my Noble again. To my surprise, I was clobbering apexes and had to slow down my turn in - even on the base settings with the non-plus model, it’s noticeably faster than the m17, even with SH5 and fast servos. The Noble is better feeling, easier to use, and faster. The world’s been sleeping on these radios for years.
I've been using the FlySky Noble since it came out back in 2019, and it's been rock solid for me no matter which version I've used. Part of me is a little disappointed it's becoming so popular because the prices are going to go up along with his popularity, but I'm glad to see the radio get its due.
And my god, thank you for calling out the wheel bouncing, it's like nails on a chalkboard whenever I hear it. I get that same look on my face when I look over it whoever's doing it.
Io possiedo attualmente una 4PM PLUS FUTABA Con ricevitore SR
sarei curioso di provare la MB4+
That "catch and release" of the steering wheel is so annoying.
The flip of the wheel from left to right is for lefties and ambis. It was great for my brother so he doesn't have to do the weird arm crossed driving.
Hi, did you use 2 ch "ultra fast" mode?
Great review, thanks so much! Sounds like this is a great tx/rx setup!
Awesome, now i feel good about wanna buy the NB4+
USB and USB-C
looks gold in the thumbnail 🥶
Awesome!!
Nice radio
The pros use the nb4 pro not the nb4 plus, but I don’t think there’s much of a difference
I don't think the pro version has any differences that really matter to most people. Like Ryan said, its the connection and feel to the vehicle that matters most and I don't think the pro version has anything different that would really change the feel. I think it has a bigger battery and different screen maybe? maybe some different menu items, but I'm pretty sure the components having to do with sending a signal are the same. And you get a fancy case with the pro version.
Another great video Ryan as always. Were you able to compare the NB4+ with the pro version? Possible to review that also? Thank you!
This is the only Flysky product in my hands. Not sure what technical difference you would see between those
@@RyanHarrisRC One last question. What receiver were you using for your Nitro?
Got rid of my nb4 pro for a m17 best thing I ever did. The second time it just factory reset on its own going out for a main I just didn't trust it anymore. Went to update the firmware and it failed and bricked itself. There app is awful. It did work ok for the most part although I always felt the signal was jacked up or amplified the input to the car was always edgy feeling. I much prefer the feeling of the m17
I've had the NB4 from the start of my racing. I highly recommend it for the new guys coming in. Price vs performance is best in class 💯 Its also a radio you can grow into as you become a more presice driver and require more features like live data, temp, voltages etc..
What receiver(s) were you running with it?
I linked both of them in my description!
@@RyanHarrisRCi didn't think you were running thr flysky transmitter. You really didn't cover it in the video.
What is the price of the radio
As of today, $299 on Amain.
You'll never get me to believe flysky isn't paying him to say this, the video doesn't seem honest. They may not have cut him the check yet, but it's gonna happen
I have the mb4 and the pro model. I enjoy them both, but my last radio 20 years ago was the airtronics M8, which was my upgrade from the futaba 3PJ. I miss the feel of my M8
I've had the noble since it first come out. I'm on the fence on upgrading to the "+". I don't see if it's worth it or not.
Same here, as far as I know the +version comes with the better display (I am mostly interested in) and the 2ch fast mode plus a better battery in the handle
