Also I forgot to ask what is your ride height at when ur running the 73mm rear springs I bought them but I haven't put them on yet well I test fitted them but I didn't like the fact that the spring adjustment on the shock was all the down to get my ride height
Just drove a new eb48 2.2 today. Drove my 2.1 all day and was about to head home and a friend told me to take a few laps with his 2.2 he just built. 3rd lap I set the best lap of the day. 5th or 6th lap I got into all time track record territory. The thing is so planted and really does just do whatever you want it to do. In the words of tiger king. “I’ll never financially recover from this” 😂
Amazing video man! Thank you so much for the shoutout. Have been watching you since I started rc 6 years ago. Tekno 2.2 platforms do just work right out of the box it’s incredible! Stoked to see you driving these vehicles! Glad you guys dodged the hurricane.
This is what happens when you have Ryan Maifield helping you change your car. This car feels a lot like the TLR 8ight 4.0. And that also was a car Maifield had a lot to do with. Thank you Ryan Maifield!!
Great video on the EB482.2, as always I find your videos to be very helpful. I have a question about the way you have your VRP 20 hole pistons set up. Which upper colored washers are you using in front and rear? I have some of the VRP pistons ordered and want to set mine up like yours .
I was super excited when the thumbnail showed up on my fyp! It was great racing with you! More time with it and she will be even more dialed! Till the next one!
Firstly, glad to hear that you and your wife have come out the other side of the hurricane safe and well. Awesome content as always. I think some has said it already but you should be doing adverts for Tekno or at least be getting a commission from them for all the sales you have probably generated since your nitro review video of their car came out! Even with a hurricane sppeding towards you, your sense of humor in the intro and outro had me in stitches. It's funny my first 1/8th nitro buggy was the NB48.4 and I then upgraded to a NB48 2.0, I also picked a EB48 2.0 Still I could never quite get it to do what I wanted in the corners (Probably more to do with my lack of knowledge about car setup than the car) and after about 18 months I moved to Mugen which I currently drive and have done so for about the same amount of time and in my head and on the track I think pillow-ball cars suit my driving style more but I gotta say after watching this and your last video covering the NB and EB 48 2.2 I'm now wondering if I jumped ship too soon, and you making wonder if I should come back to the Tekno Takeover???? Keep up the great content.
Thanks for the videos. I hope you and yours are all well and good with the weather happening, and I hope you all get to race more soon. Im gearing up for winter here in Idaho, but I'm looking forward to next season and some 2.2 action, hopefully. It's definitely the only kit on my radar right now. Cheers
just bought one of these looking forward to building her up and having a rip. Chuffed it has the Ryan Harris seal of approval 😄glad you and wife are safe
If you have not already I would try the car with no center or rear chassis brace (always leave the front in). Nitro leave them all in, but the ebuggy removing them has been a tuning option for years for more grip.
@RyanHarrisRC I love this video especially the blow by blow of the race action. I liked it so much I went and bought myself an EB48 2.2! Thanks for the links. I did have one question as I know in previous videos you've mentioned that when trying to adopt a setup from another driver to see if it works for you, staying as close to the exact numbers is pretty important as all changes can alter the results. So I adopted your build sheet, thanks for that, but I noticed in your video the D block pill installed in your car is not what the build sheet shows? The sheet shows it as center dot for a rear toes of 2.5 degrees where as you car has the .5 outward and down installed. I'm curious if that is simply a missed check mark on the sheet, or if you changed that and or any other settings and forgot to update the sheet for the as built plan? Thanks again and I'm looking forward to giving this buggy a drive very soon.
Great review and video, the e buggy is something I'm tempted with buggy for next summer here in the uk as I've not tried 1/8th racing. I still own and run now and then a 1/10th eb410.2 still love that buggy .wish they would develop some new 1/10th stuff.
Those sway bars used to be captured in bearings on the 2.1. I can't remember where I saw it but some folks (myself included) flipped them around and ran them "uncaptured", introducing the slop. Interesting to see it's built that way kit stock now.
Just saw the shout out too lol. Kind of a spur of the moment deal. Didn’t mean to take the inside and shove you into the pothole, but I also didn’t want to cut over and take you out lol!
I love mine, fantastic out of the box. Yours looks a little loose in the rear to me... our track is dry and a bit blown out and it handled everything like a champ, front and rear firmly planted. I dont believe Ryan is "pumping up tekno', just telling his experiences. A new bar has been set!
I was determined to get the car to rotate super fast, so I took out all the rear toe 😅 I would not recommend it, very situational. The setup sheet above is how I prefer it to be!
Can you say something about the 3DPrinted Sideguards? how are they lasting? what Material is it? Glad you made it through the hurricane! Have fun racing
I just finished a new xray 1/8 buggy this week. Purely because I race X-ray for 1/10 Offroad and onroad but also because I hate the narrow chassis. If I would have known you could run those wide guards and use a wide body I totally would have done that.
Great video. A few errors in your setup sheet (visible in the video): You are running both middle and rear chassis braces. The front shock standoff is not +4 (no +4 available in the new style), probably is +2. The center diff case is the "B" case that's included in the EB48 2.2 kit, not the "C" case included in the NB48 2.2 kit. Also, have you explained in a previous video how you express droop? It seems like most of the world is now using the "axle centerline relative to bottom of chassis" way of doing it.

Looking for some help… What do you use to mount your ESC and receiver? Gorilla double sided tape? Shoe goo? Or something else? I’m not sure what to use or what product would work best.
Any chance you could give us some more info on those VRP 20 Hole pistons you've listed in your setup sheets? I get they have various sized holes in one piston, but do you adjust them to use which ever selection of holes or does it utilize all 20 holes at once? Keep doing what you're doing, if Tekno need a guy to promote their stuff its you 👌
Can we get a AE b4.1 vs tekno 2.2 video? The tekno seems to just take the potholes. For me if it's short track I get better times with pillow ball cars.

I'm stationed at FT. Stewart GA and come down to Florida to race with my brother are there any other tracks around worth checking out? We ran at this track like 4 weeks ago when it rained and was super muddy, We have also ran at s&s.
This buggy is a specimen of greatness no doubt. However this is prime example of why my hopes of racing went out the window. $700 kit that will need at least another $300 stops me in my tracks Everytime. Bashing is for me. I get a whole lot more to work with with a grand.
Used race buggies are a great option, a lot of racers want the latest and greatest but older kits can still be just as quick or quicker. I got my ET48 2.0 used fully loaded with good electronics for under 500 and my RC8b3.2e for 400!
Of course it has more top end, it's a more powerful motor. But it would be way too much for the track he's driving on. Bigger isn't always faster on the track
@@codyireland9432 I run the 2250 on a track about that size. It’s not that it’s more powerful, it has a different power band than the 1900. It’s easier to drive than the 1900
