Ryan, I think you have about the best damn channel in all of R/C. Just super good quality and I think you deserve a broader audience! Hoping that happens for you! I'm learning from you as well and one day would love to get a 1/10th scale buggy - never had one and currently bought a Trophy Rat to have fun with my kids! Plus, i'm too terrible a driver but hoping your tips help me! Cheers!
3 weeks ago i bought a used 48 4 for a price i couldn't refuse. Loved the way it drove and the build quality. Ordered an eb 2.2 soon after. Its going to be a build a thon weekend! Excellent video as always bud
Bought a eb48 2.0 when it came out. While the box setup is not as stable on loose tracksas the 2.2, after a while and some changes here and there, I got it there. And man the quality. It must have been many hundreds of batteries I have run in it by now and I only broke 2 A-Arms over all that time. Love the thing.
Great Video! Running in New England, I share your love hate relationship with the tracks and the way they blow out! I started with the NB482.1, and it is an awesome platform, and have done very well! I just built and ran my new NB48 2.2 this past weekend and it was LIGHTS OUT amazing! B-Q'd and won the 12 minute B Main, bumped into the A, in the back of the field and finished 3rd after a 20 minute main, just 4 seconds away from 2nd place! Extraordinarily happy with the Tekno NB48 2.2!!!
My car that I’m running now is a mix of 2.1/2.0 and I love the car. It’s a tank, and it drives well. It also responds to setup changes very well. Seeing the 2.2 is giving me major fomo because it looks that much better. Being someone that has raced with you and knows your skill and driving style, to see you be this happy with a kit seals the deal for me. Great video as usual brother.
I literally just bought this EXACT same setup and was prepping tires when this video was released. Like - EXACT - car, motor, pipe, servos, switch, etc.
Had lots of different cars. Ive built a mp10 tki3 when it came out and after 6 months ive decided to sell it and get a 8ight x 2.0. It was the worst decision ever. Now after i sold that crap i got another mp10tki3 and from the first tank i felt the difference. Fast alot of stability easy to drive and the most important thing is that it gives you lots of confidence. I don't know the tekno cars because where i live there's no one driving or supporting tekno but kyosho for me is the best car ever made. And for those that will say it breaks easily it doesn't! After a front a arm change when i was building the kit to a Hard HD arms and lots of liters and a race day on it it does not break anything. Great video Ryan!!
Hey 141marios, I agree with you, Kyosho #1. One thing that I like about KYOSHO, It is made in Japan and parts too. Good quality. I have had and tested most of 1/8 kits, raced for many years. I own a hobby store in California; My favorite is Kyosho. After Kyosho I would consider Mugen, & Team Associated. Brands that dominate "Nitro Buggy Worlds", is a world championship radio controlled car race hosted by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). It takes place biennially on even years since 1986. WINNERS: - KYOSHO 8 Championships (1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2010,) - MUGEN 3 Championships (1990, 2004, 2012) - HOT BODIES 3 Championships (2008, 2014, 2016) - TEAM ASSOCIATED 2 Championships (2018, 2022) - TEKNO 0 - LOSI 0 - X RAY 0
@reyortiz5197 for me its the best 1/8 race buggy you can get. Ive tried mugen from a friend and for me its like hell i could not make a lap with that thing. No stability whatsoever. It was like driving on ice. Kyosho all the way!
Hunter speed secret was hard to digest 😮 Awesome to see you driving a Tekno! Wierdest DNF ever!! My first Nitro was AE and while it was a great car I ran my NB48 2.0 on Sunday it felt like home. I'm looking forward to getting the 2.2 at the end of the year. Hopefully we can keep nitro alive here in FL. Great video Ryan!
The car looked great! I have been racing my nitro buggies and this past weekend I had an air leak in the carburetor slide boot which made the engine run too lean and was a headache all day. I am loving some nitro these days! Great video! Thanks for the awesome content!

I have been a Losi fan for 20 years but always a new a better buggy to go to and you are cool Ryan been a fan awhile now. I will keep tuning in take care and good luck.
Nice meeting you at capital city! Ended up getting tied up working on my cars and forgot to catch back up with ya. Great video buddy! I’ve been looking into tekno myself the last few months.
Good to hear that you really like it! The 2.2 is a huge improvement over the 2.0 especially with stability. Mine felt good even without being broke in yet.
I like how Ryan talks about "feel" and "confidence" These are terms that most wont understand unless they are veterans and its burned into your brain from a ton of experience.
This guy never misses an opportunity to blast light into his blue eyes lol. In all seriousness though I wish you’d do more 1/8 E-Buggy stuff, I’m torn between a RC8B4.1E and a EB48 2.2
I just recently switched from hb to the rc8b4.1e. I've been very happy with the ae being that I like rotation on power. One of the things that I've never liked about the tekno is what ryan Is talking about being good for him which is understeer(stability) on power. I feel like they can both be fast but so far I really like the ae but it is just a bit harder to drive. If your the type of driver that has the steering turned all the way and full throttle a lot buy the tekno. The ae or mugen you need to back out of the steering as power comes in but that can be faster
Awesome video!! It’s been a while since I drove a Tekno buggy, had them when they were the 48.3 platform and from the box it was extremely hard but once I figured out some things in setup the car felt awesome. I’ve been thinking for a while in come back to tekno for this platform, there is no other Brand new tekno in my country son I’m thrilled to give it a chance. Been racing for mugen for the best part of six years now.
Even with the 2.0 when they came out where money at lake park.... I miss driving there after getting into the military. My old 2.0 kits are at my dads place since we raced together all the time. Happy that you find a good kit for the rough fl tracks!!
Back when we still had outdoor offroad tracks to run nitro at... my favorite had to be a TLR 8ight-T 2.0 I always loved the looks and handling of the truggys but you have me wanting to build a buggy now...
Not driven the buggy but my introduction with the 1/8th scale world I picked up an ET48 2.0 and am very happy. Waiting for there update soon box stock, predictable, easy to drive. Highly impressed!
Yes I have been on a quest for a 1/8th scale chassis quest and I found tekno myself I can't wait to buy the EB48 2.2 I'm going to be driving it next year I'm so excited I have the 2.0 that I converted over to the 2.1 slash 2.2 and man it's awesome and I run my ebuggy on clay at my local club and man it's a blast and it has tons of grip for a smooth track! Yes on clay with clay tires guys they hook up on clay too just try it Ryan you will thank me later lol have fun
I've had couple tekno electric buggys, they make nice equipment. Their kit is a smooth build. They are tanks too. I'm amazed at their durability, they take a hit and keep going.
Welcome to the Tekno family since this car looks to have excited you about racing nitro buggy. Grad the aluminum sway bar collets. The plastic ones wear out from the set screw and the AL collets don’t.
I think Max Mort posted something about the short springs in the rear a while ago, saying less length means less chance of lateral movement in the middle of the spring, giving a more consistent operation
Loved the video loved the track sucks they are tearing it down as I get back in to it but maybe that means upgrades until they reopen the track ? Awesome video awesome buggy and awesome driving
Great video as always. 34 minutes. It was heaven lol. I drive Mugen and it has nothing on tekno on corner entry. I'm in the Northeast and everyone drives Tekno. Great choice. Quick question. Are you liking 1/8 scale more than 1/10? Or is it a 50/50 call? All the best. Keep the videos coming!
I’ve had a rock shut off my nitro engine before too. Luckily not during a race. Maybe you would add some screens to your windows to keep debris from flying into the drive train.
Great content, how did you go regarding the clutch ? Shimming required like AMain did ? I am driving mugen at the moment and wanting more mid corner speed out of it, also using the mayfield .1 engine it’s so smooth and linear like you say too! Is there another brand on the radar for content ?
I'm jumping back into nitro after many years of not racing at all. I built a b6.4, and I've just had an itch for nitro racing since. I plan on buying an MP10 readyset buggy because I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend 1500-2000 on a complete racing kit. Hopefully, it's a good car. I plan on upgrading certain parts from the kit. Would it be competitive in the slower classes? Or are the engines in those too far off? Thanks!
The sct 2.0 has a cover for the rocks getting in the drive train. Wonder if you have that option for the buggy. I somehow think you will like this buggy for a while.
Two different cars for different driving styles. If you like to drive aggressively, the pivot ball car will suit you. If you’re more precise and direct, the c hub car will suit you.
Question for you, I run on a sandy clay track that rarely sees water (none usually). Typically these C hub cars handle a bit worse on loose tracks but you swapped out of the AE for this. Do you notice more mid corner stability over the pillow balls? Im in the market for a new kit and its between the tekno or XRAY (xray is due to a hair more local guys stocking some parts)
Any chance you can do a comparison between this and the AE RC8B4.1? I'm looking into getting a nitro buggy and I'm on the fence between the two of them. I know one's a pillow ball and the other is a c hub but it would be nice to a comparison between them.
Next, try their electric 8th scale buggy. Supreme :-) Tekno have come so far since building 8th scale electric conversion kits for nitro buggies. Great company.
What kind of tires would y'all suggest in a surface similar to those first clips? Only 1/10 scale and more dirt, less clay. That's the kind of surface most common in Eastern Europe and I'll be racing 1/10 scale Open class next season. Big thanks!
Honestly IMO your average joe racer is probably better suited to a c hub design car. Any pillow ball car I have run has always had the same characteristics. Mid/late over rotation and then your trying to get it to stabilize. I've driven a tekno and just as you say it was confidence inspiring. Personally I run a Mayako and couldn't be happier. (Another c hub option) and just as you said the first tank in that car just inspired confidence driving it.
So you’ve gone from the AE which you were ok with but wanted more. Now the tekno is seeming to be a big direction you like dare I say perfection for you? So pillowball to C hub. What about trying the sparko car? It’s literally both. It’s a C hub with an upper arm. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on that.
No one hardly runs serpent cars... I have for a few years. It is a great car but is in the trailing edge of technology right now, but a new one is due pretty soon! Hopefully the will.make some good improvements but the SRX 8 pro is still a competitive great car. 👍

How much is changing on these new chassis that come out, really? Is it literally mm differences in dimentions of susp towers etc that warrant hype-trains?
The biggest thing about this car is the improvement they made. I got to test one against a 2.0 and it's like it's a whole different class it's not even funny.
Did anyone catch Hunter's speed secret outro 🤔

So you’ve gone from the AE which you were ok with but wanted more. Now the tekno is seeming to be a big direction you like dare I say perfection for you? So pillowball to C hub. What about trying the sparko car? It’s literally both. It’s a C hub with an upper arm. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on that.
No one hardly runs serpent cars... I have for a few years. It is a great car but is in the trailing edge of technology right now, but a new one is due pretty soon! Hopefully the will.make some good improvements but the SRX 8 pro is still a competitive great car. 👍
Capital City Raceway is in Tallahassee, not Lake City.
So, how does it compare to the AE car you built a few months ago?
You gotta try the truggy.
Are we going to see you in Tekno gear soon?!?

Good video.show us the race and then go back and chop it . let's us see real Time 1st just an idea 🔥🔥 👊👊
How much is changing on these new chassis that come out, really? Is it literally mm differences in dimentions of susp towers etc that warrant hype-trains?
Please review the Tekno EB10 too!
The biggest thing about this car is the improvement they made. I got to test one against a 2.0 and it's like it's a whole different class it's not even funny.
