I've been watching for YEARS. You always compete and often win in your own class, but this race had one minor pipe touch. Awesome to watch and expert racing. Nice Win Ryan
I was just at this track yesterday, my B7 R1 21.5 was zipping around the track . I haven't done anything to it, kit stock, haent even changed the shock oils yet. thanks for giving me some great setup tips, i appreciate it.
Thanks for the setup sheet! I'm putting together a 3 gear B7D to go along with my 5 gear and I may just slap your setup on the 3 gear car right off the bat and see how it goes. 👍
Incredible driving, thanks for this in depth video. Been lapping a couple Losi the last year but an experienced driver I spoke with said his Associated was so much easier to drive 🤔
Been running a lockout on a b6.4 for 2 years on high bite carpet and never once had a transmission failure of any kind. Still the same gears the car came with.
I can honestly say this B7 is a great car, just a little brittle for my bad driving. All the new issues and growing pains of a this model Team Associated addressed all my whiny issues without an issue...Don't be scared to purchase one...This will be a shelf queen until I get better at my track day....B6.4 is still my go-to weapon.....
@Ryan, my car Xray xb2C has evolved to a setup almost like yours where gearbox is changed for a dirt and motor is 7mm further back to get more weight over rear end, lipo is moved as far front as it goes to compensate and give more balance to the car. like Hall Brothers talked about in their weight video to get weight spread out and calm the car down.
I remember when the b6.1 came out me and my wife each bought 1 we never did get it smoothed out but hey it was a fun build and a great car !! Great job on that race Ryan !! See ya on the next one!!
I'd like to see you run this B7 and then, back-to-back, run your locked-in, beloved TLR sitting on the shelf behind you. Which one is faster? Which one FEELS better?? Would LOVE to see that!!!
Very nice video and perfect race👍 I also like enough steering, also it's more difficult to drive... You should try the Agama N1e and the coming N110. Keep on racing 🐄💨
I hope manufacturers are paying attention. I just sold all of my tlr stuff and just got my B7 as your videos are a huge help Ryan! Also just ordered a lot of the R1 works parts. Your sponsors should know just how much your content pushes their products forward.
Thanks for all the great content Ryan! Just picked up a B7D and looking to get back out to SS Raceway. What tires do you think I should pick up to run there? Thanks!
@RYAN HARRIS - What brand of blank piston are you using. AE only makes 2mm 3 hole pistons. I know AVID makes blanks, but the dimples/spacing isn't ideal for 3 hole. Thx!
Great channel. A point of contention about the B7 (and many modern buggies): If this was 1/1 scale, the driver would not see the road. This should be one of the rules about RC models races (because these are models!!!). Let's go back to vintage bodies!
Great video. Didn't you drive a TLR? I would love to see an upgrade for us who doesn't run highgrip dirt. I still run an b6.1 with four gears and it runs way better than any laydown car that has ever come to the track. At our last race a friend took out his b5 rm after the race and he really regretted he didn't race that one instead.
Doesn't associated when they roll out a new generation turn their previous generation into RTRs? They just released their SR10M which is a mid motor dirt oval RC. I hope this means we can now get the SC6.4 SCT in an RTR setup. That would be an instant buy for me. Excited to see where this goes but it's a good time to see what they roll out. New RTRs, new generation for the kit folks out there. Pretty sweet.
The SR10M is still B5-based. AE has invested a lot in making the RB10/Pro2 their RTR platform and I don’t see a reason for them to change that even if a new race vehicle is out.
That was a Really Impressive race, Ryan! Was there anything to what the announcer said about your car 'fading' or were you just being cautious since you had an unbeatable lead? I wish we had a track like that near here. I doubt if I could compete with the 'Young Guns' but I wouldn't mind trying! Just curious but roughly what would it cost for a season with a new car properly set up, batteries, tires, fees, etc.? I noticed you didn't specify much on tires but I guess that they are kind of dependent on the track.
Read your sheet, your pills are different than most drivers, is that a change you made when switching to the r1 trans? most drivers run 0 in and .5/1 down (preference). so what made that pill setup work for you?
What a run ryan!! Man youre fast, its very impressive and in 2wd, i do ok in 4wd but 2wd you can call me krispy kreme because i manufacture donuts!! Lol thanks for the video bud!!
Sure would like to see some scientific data on how much 'loss' there is between the 3 and 5 gear trans, just to eliminate any bias in perception. I know that when I pay a bunch for something, or am sponsored, I tend to want to believe that there's a noticeable improvement.
It should be telling that drivers with the 5-gear transmission are winning races. That isn’t to say it’s superior but it is convincing enough for me to deduce that having a couple of small idler gears not a significant disadvantage, either.
Hey Ryan really like your RC10B7. And looks like most people have given the B7 a great review and they have gotten faster lap times. Which Raw speed body are you using? Looks tight.
When did you switch back to associated? Last I knew you ran losi. I must have missed it. I ran my b7 this past weekend on dirt oval. First race/first place. Lol and TQ.
Hello Ryan from the UK Im just getting back into RC I used to race 1/8th nitro but with winter coming I was thinking 1/10 4wd would be better. Most tracks are carpet what buggy is the best ATM?
I'm not expecting you to reply to this but if you can I would appreciate it. Looking at picking one of these up to race locally here in Michigan. Not high level racing. Just want to be competitive locally. Do you suggest doing all the extreme tuning that you've done with titanium hardware and all the other high dollar stuff that you've put into it? At the level I'm talking? Will that really make much of a difference?
It’s not a huge difference. Top racers will want to exploit all possibilities to gain fractions of a second but you can do really well with a box stock car and a good setup.
Why going back to associated. What happen to “TLR” . You should tried the MSB1 from Mugen seiki . Give us your input of the new all in one gear differential. It’s great video.
Don't like the design, especially the short chassis with plastic hanging in the back. Will AE be addressing the manufacturing errors and design flaws before the B8, or, just hope Losi has parts soon? lol
More skill required. In the old days of RC everything was 2WD due to the simplicity. 4WD is the standard in bashers today since it makes it so much easier to drive. Your front wheels will pull you through the corner. In 2WD, the understeer to oversteer switch as you come off the power for a turn requires more skill to handle effectively. 4WD racing is easier, but also a bit more expensive for the kits. 2WD is cheaper to get started, but also teaches you how to drive better. If you are just bashing, stick with 4WD. If you want to race, 2WD is the best way to learn.
That race was a masterclass in dealing with lapped traffic.
I've been watching for YEARS. You always compete and often win in your own class, but this race had one minor pipe touch. Awesome to watch and expert racing. Nice Win Ryan
Ryan is a good driver and makes good choice of setups, he knows his cars.
Thank you Ryan for sharing the in-depth insight of a professional racer car's setup. As a non-racer, I learned a lot from the video. Thanks.
I was just at this track yesterday, my B7 R1 21.5 was zipping around the track . I haven't done anything to it, kit stock, haent even changed the shock oils yet. thanks for giving me some great setup tips, i appreciate it.
Beautiful build job.
Edited to add: damn... that race was beyond smooth. Passing lapped cars like they weren't even there. Nicely done.
Saw this car run at so rc raceway, absolutely insane how fast it is
Been running a lockout on a b6.4 for 2 years on high bite carpet and never once had a transmission failure of any kind. Still the same gears the car came with.
Same
Been loving mine, and just added the R1 transmission 2 weeks ago.... super sweet!
Nice! I want to see you run this at one of the low grip outdoor tracks you've featured in post videos.
Glad to see you back in an associated! I have been testing the 3 hole pistons on carpet and we seem to be leaning that way as well. Great video!
Have you tried any of the fat 2.7 schelle pistons?
Thanks for this in depth review! And congrats with the well deserved win!
fantastic video and info on AE's new car. Please pre-order the Agama N110, would be HUGE to have you do some videos of it once it's out.
Wow what a beautiful piece of engineering!
Don't worry. Part of the problem is the car itself. Quite a few manufacturing errors on this one.
Glad your making videos again
Thanks for posting this setup Ryan Harris. Ran it last night and the car was very good.
@Ryan, my car Xray xb2C has evolved to a setup almost like yours where gearbox is changed for a dirt and motor is 7mm further back to get more weight over rear end, lipo is moved as far front as it goes to compensate and give more balance to the car.

Love my 3 gear. Super snappy in 17.5
Thank you for sharing, your content always has solid quantifiable feedback supporting your reviews! Good run man!!
Congrats on the win 👍 Very informative video, thanks 🤝
I'd like to see you run this B7 and then, back-to-back, run your locked-in, beloved TLR sitting on the shelf behind you. Which one is faster? Which one FEELS better?? Would LOVE to see that!!!
+1
+2
Can’t wait to see more of the sprint car and midget oval racing but great job on that run
That main was fantastic my guy!
that was AMAZING driving Ryan
Nice, back to Team Associated!
Be waiting to more B7 videos and talks 😊, thanks
Excellent race, grooved from the start.
Great Video Ryan
Running 3x1.5mm 35wt yellow v3
2x1.7mm + 1x1.6mm 32.5wt grey v3
On mine running on Astro. Very happy with it after its first run.
I love my b7d. Works great on my local clay track.
Car was dialed! Congrats bro
Very nice video and perfect race👍 I also like enough steering, also it's more difficult to drive... You should try the Agama N1e and the coming N110. Keep on racing 🐄💨
that was sum of the best racing ive seen bro. noiiiice
Iceman! Killer driving Ryan!!!
I hope manufacturers are paying attention. I just sold all of my tlr stuff and just got my B7 as your videos are a huge help Ryan!
Also just ordered a lot of the R1 works parts. Your sponsors should know just how much your content pushes their products forward.
Bro you drove around everyyyyy body !
Thanks for all the great content Ryan! Just picked up a B7D and looking to get back out to SS Raceway. What tires do you think I should pick up to run there? Thanks!
Its awesome to you back to yhe buggy class. Your no longer with TLR?
Great content Ryan. Love the outro.
Have you ran the B7 on carpet yet? That was a great race, so clean and fast.
Car looked absolutely dialed
Great job on the W!!
Great video. Good set up pointers. Nice win.
@RYAN HARRIS - What brand of blank piston are you using. AE only makes 2mm 3 hole pistons. I know AVID makes blanks, but the dimples/spacing isn't ideal for 3 hole. Thx!

They make vintage bodies
😮I never heard about the switch back to associated, or is this the video now about the switch?
do you do your own air brushing on the bodies.....they are awesome.
Thank goodness we have a new buggy to race at all the Rc tracks that have closed. 😢
Theres so many tracks by me that i dont even know them all
@@matthewh6242 lucky. we only have one left in the SoCal area and I hear its struggling.
@@slappomatthew Gavin will close it with his bullshit taxation. Vote liberal shitheads out of CA.

Are you back to riding dirt bikes? Would love to see you come to a FTR event
I wish they had a layback or standup for this one. Anyone know if they have plans for it?
Looking dialed !!
looks quick man esp for a 17.5 class car..
Great B7D breakdown! The 3-gear transmission looks promising.
What charger + power supply combo are you using nowadays?
Dang youtube, this didnt show up in my feed despite always commenting and liking your videos, I here now, its gonna be a banger it's a RSH video!!!
Same. He’s shadow banned
I don’t race anymore but this car looks good

Just buy a slightly used one, then you don't have to build it and get a better vehicle than the RTR version
The SR10M is still B5-based. AE has invested a lot in making the RB10/Pro2 their RTR platform and I don’t see a reason for them to change that even if a new race vehicle is out.
@SteveSoper1979 I still race an RC10B5M and I believe that parts for SR10 and some other models will still work for my car
I am waiting more videos of B7 car. @ryan Harris be waiting for it. Thanks 🙏🏻
Team Losi is basically out of business. Haven’t seen anything new from them in along time.
That was a Really Impressive race, Ryan!
Was there anything to what the announcer said about your car 'fading' or were you just being cautious since you had an unbeatable lead?

I would echo this. How much spinning mass have you eliminated compared to the weight of the wheels and tires...
It should be telling that drivers with the 5-gear transmission are winning races.

Love to see it can you do more dirt oval cars
I was just wondering what top mount wing was you running?
Nice driving Ryna. I am getting back into racing and local to SORC. Who paints your bodies and do you know anyone local that paints?
When did you go back to driving AE???
When did you switch back to associated? Last I knew you ran losi. I must have missed it. I ran my b7 this past weekend on dirt oval. First race/first place. Lol and TQ.
Think ryan switched if i theorise becaus TLR had some problems with parts for their cars.
Omg...'Kermit Butts' as a racer
great video 😊
The absolute best car on the market
Thought you were Running Losi, when did you switch back to AE?
what front shock tower wing do you use?
Hello Ryan from the UK
Im just getting back into RC I used to race 1/8th nitro but with winter coming I was thinking 1/10 4wd would be better. Most tracks are carpet what buggy is the best ATM?
Dude.... nice race
Wow nice !
Ryan what’s your thoughts on the 3 gear in 17.5 carpet?
Are these cars purely for racing or can they bash? I’d like to build one but no tracks around me.
Racing only, or driving for your own enjoyment on a track. Race buggies are terrible bashers.
What shock weight are you running front and back?
What 3 hole pistons? 1.5 front/1.6 rear?
Setup sheet is in the description for ya!
Would one of the old rc10 chassis (if updated inside) hang with any of this?
vrp game changers at some point?

do you know what 3 hole pistons front and back. kit has two hole
it is better to remove the rear sway bar?
what front nose cone is that on the shock tower?
Why going back to associated. What happen to “TLR” . You should tried the MSB1 from Mugen seiki . Give us your input of the new all in one gear differential. It’s great video.
what front wing is that?
Ive cleared up anything b4. Maybe you need to clear that up with the manufacturer.
ryan what his your b74 setup
Thought you used tlr 🤔🤔
Don't like the design, especially the short chassis with plastic hanging in the back. Will AE be addressing the manufacturing errors and design flaws before the B8, or, just hope Losi has parts soon? lol
the transmission gears break
I'm new to the hobby, why is 2 wheel drive such a big deal?
More skill required. In the old days of RC everything was 2WD due to the simplicity. 4WD is the standard in bashers today since it makes it so much easier to drive. Your front wheels will pull you through the corner. In 2WD, the understeer to oversteer switch as you come off the power for a turn requires more skill to handle effectively. 4WD racing is easier, but also a bit more expensive for the kits. 2WD is cheaper to get started, but also teaches you how to drive better. If you are just bashing, stick with 4WD. If you want to race, 2WD is the best way to learn.
Interesting video. If you sold your old TLR 2WD buggy, I am open !
I dislike when people yell marshal when they are the one that wrecked.
