Nice! I actually still use a bunch of rtf radios so that I can go out and bash with the kids. I hook up about 5 cars to two different radios. Futaba 3PV because of the wireless receiver and the Spektrum DX5C because of all the Arrma and Losi cars. The Futaba is noticeable more responsive. That said the DX5C is way better than the rtr radios, lol. Love all your radio content 🤩
Great review of the different systems. I use the FlySky NB4 instead of the Futaba. It is faster in respons (depending on model), cheaper and can handle up to 8 channels 🙂
i was leaning towards the noble.. but i like the new DumboRC DDF-350 more 10 channels , fancy menu stuff like your sanwa , buttons and your knobs for ANALOG Tuning
Thank god bought yesterday the FS G7P to change from my really I LIKE THE DESIGN FS GT3B but it needs a lot of batteries and had a little notable latency and just 3 channels, just right but need more adjustment and facilities for my now OBSESSION Formula 1 1/8 and 1/7 Nitro Rc Cars, so with telemetry, low tolerance latency and a lot of ajdustment will improve my investment. Thanks to share the FS G7P
i use the same Futaba , can setup any car anyway i want....Spektrum was my fave until the programmable radios starting popping onboard roms and losing half the menus/functions....the Traxxas just feels cheap to me, i got one with a TRX4 crawler and it drove me up the wall so i want sell it....instead, i put in Futaba receiver and programmed a Digispark micro controller to split the 4th channel to get the locking diff functionality working properly
So these fancy radios don't even have the Bluetooth capability of the tqi radios??? Also I have the losi supermoto(spektrum), 2 proboats by horizon hobby(spektrum) and a stock traxxas xrt and axial scx10 crawler. Would spektrum controller would be best on a $150 or so budget?
When I got my mt5, it took my racing up to the next level. If you don’t race, I wouldn’t recommend it for the price. But if you race, I don’t recommend anything different
I had a FlySky GT3b: which was a fantastic value for bashing! I didn't know what people were talking about when they mentioned the speed or 'feel' of a system, as it was all I knew. Then once I started getting into track days with a 2wd buggy I splurged for a M12. And had to adjust how I drove as I was suddenly clipping the inside of every corner :) . Sanwa makes a great radio!
@The Echelon funny as I am winning competitions left and right. Crawling to indoor electric racing and drifting. I have found NO discernable difference in latency.
I have a TRX4m. The radio they sell with that model is pretty bad. It seems that you may not be into crawling. Still, if you were, which one would you look to first?
I just happen to have the DX3R spectrum. Are they still good to use today? It’s a 2.4ghz 3 ch DSM2 radio. What do you think? I want to use for 1/28 scale rc. Is this possible?
Nice. Thanks for your review. I still use my flysky GT5 and like it. I had the radiolink rcg4s but didn't like it as much. I would like the spectrum DX5c, rugged or Pro however in Canada they are 400 plus and receivers are 80$ or so. So it is hard to justify at this point. Lol
Do transmitters need to be bound to a particular reciever or can they be bound to any reciever that meets certain specifications? My first RC came with an STX-2 transmitter and an SRX200 reciever. If I get another car does it need to have an SRX200 or will any 2-channel 2.4Hz reciever work?
Have you reviewed a radio link rc6gs ? What do you believe is the best radio as far as range goes? Looking for a better alternative than my Dumbo for my speed car. Want something with a little more tunability
I like the cheap fly sky 6channel gt3b I think it is. Has 10 model memory you just have to buy tge 12.00 receivers. They have the longest range I’ve ever seen on a budget radio..
How has it held up for you in terms of reliability? I've been considering grabbing one just for the extra model memory but I've seen a few reviews complaining about it being unreliable.
Just subscribed to your channel. I kinda assume you're a buggy kinda guy. I have a question. I live in San Jose, CA and it is very challenging to find a good spot for bashing. Do you happen to know a large parking lot or stretched street where I can do high-speed run like 80+ mph, maybe 100+ mph with XO-1? Thanks! *I am new to this hobby.
I fly quads in Florida but the same problem with a place to do RC. Have found that no one wants to share a good spot with anyone else, esp a newbee. Because too many people or a newbee causing damage will get that spot shut down for everyone. Best to get into a small group of fellow RC people. Check face book and local races, you don't need to race, just make a few friends. Everything is more fun with friends.
Dx5 rugged can only run 11m/s frame rate, the dx5 pro can run 5.5m/s for throttle and steering channels, which is alittle more than twice as fast response
Hi Razor! So, I'm looking at mt-s vs mt-44 for Ebuggy. Is there a response difference you notice? I don't need much in terms of bells and whistles. just end point, trim, rate.. Also, would the MT-S be more durable vs scratches, dirt etc? Thanks!!
is it the esc or transmitter that gives more smooth power delivery... the stock team associated system is not very smooth ??? compared to my other systems.
I run Futaba 4PLS for all of my nice cars. S-FHSS is very quick. I've attempted saving a few bucks by trying FlySky GT3B, GT3C then a RadioLink something. They all sucked. Ergos are shit, laggy, short distance. Should've just bought extra Futaba receivers instead.
Fkysky gt3b or gt3c are pretty old and perform very bad imho. They have abysmal frame rate which results in a disconnected feeling to your car. I would only recommend them for trail trucks or crawlers only where a low frame rate is not really needed.
@@vivos71 a radiolink rc6gs (v3 just came out recently) is also a not too bad option. Or an used spektrum dx4c or dx4s. Both use the modern dsmr modulation and are reliable units.
I personally never bought a brand-new transmitter. I always buy used. Just bought a spektrum dx4s and it works awesome. And all dsm2/dsmr receivers are compatible which I also buy used for a fraction of its new price. Hence the recommendation. Just watch for units in good condition!

My Radiolink RC8x has replaced my DX5 pro as my main radio. Love it and have not found a task it can not do.
I know one, it’s pretty slow in the response so not suitable for racing. A shame since it has a lot of good things going on.

Flysky.
how can a radio be "slower" than another radio ??
