I have a FlySky Noble NB4. Bought it about 2 years ago. I paid about $180US. I drive lefty. It was the most reasonably priced convertible transmitter for lefties. Now they are about $220US. It has a lot of features and great build quality. I find the latency to be pretty quick. I'm real happy with it.
There are a lot of good radio sets out there, and with a good range of features. It boils down to what features do you use, what sort of response times do you want, and what your budget is. Personally I use a Flysky Noble NB4, it's so well made, has great features, good response times, and the small receivers are antenna-less and not that expensive. At the end of the day it's down to personal preference. The Sanwa MX-6 is a good choice, good build quality and good features for the price. Whatever you use I hope you like it and get on well with it!!
Joining the winning team! :D I know I've shouted MT5 a couple of times here. But like you, I mostly use EPA, curves and I like that the radio has 20+ save slots. BUT, one large reason I chose the MT-5, is that it has the same superfast response speed that the M17 has, but at half the price. ITs essentially a cheap M17, with a few bells and whistles missing, but bells and whistles I dont use. :) But I hope the MX6 does exactly what you need it to do. I had 3 year "umm-ah-humm??" issue with radios, as I was tired of buying too cheap radios, that didnt quite fit the bill, and I wasnt too intrested in spending 600€+ on a radio. Then the MT5 came out, and it seemed really a good option. It felt a bit like the old Snowboard analogy, that you should never buy the top end, as it's gonna be released next year with new prints as a mid end LOL. :D Anyway, its easy to shout in the comments about choises, good luck with the new radio, and keep us updated on your experience with it. :)
I got back into RC a couple years ago and started using the wheel type for crawlers etc. When I started racing the truck I couldn't quite get on with the wheel so went back to sticks. I find it a lot better for me.
Personally would have stepped up to the MTS or Mt-5 in the sanwa range as they give you a better range of recievers to pair with the radio. But the mx6 is still a hugely solid choice, hopefully you gell with it.
Absima cr4p, is basicallu a rebranded dumbo rc. 4 channel, super sensible nice, durable and good range. It lacks of all that exp adjustability etc but if u program your esc the right way and especially if u run brushed a basic transmitter is not so bad. 30 euros , the battery are lasting forever, i love it
I got a TQi remote with my TRX-4. Since then I've bought more recievers for different cars and run them all on the same remote. They're nice and customizable if you get the Bluetooth module or navigate the menu/set buttons. Definitely not as good as a Radiolink, but quite rugged.
Good point...no one else is talking about the Bluetooth Modules...iv seen them in the background at the hobby shop and whatnot, but just recently, have takin a good look into the hole BT setup plug-n-program doo-hicky Appy Downloady thing-a-ma-boby ordeal-leo magoogly😂 ...Spektrum got me hooked and it seemed too good to be true,as far as programming...but i feel i must proceed with caution... Do you have any experience/recommendations as far as BT Mods go? Any company stand out to you for any reasons?? Guy 😮 ive just upgraded from my acoms technisport to a Noble NB4 😊 now with SVC my Tamiya falcon drives beautifully 😍 noble is easy to use to setup plus you can adjust wheel position.
Another great subject. I personally would of spoke a bit about the cost of receivers. This is a area which for a lot of racers on a budget is a defining factor. If you have 4,5 or more cars the cost of receivers can rival or exceed that of the hand set! I like you am a fan of Spektrum and very happy with but will say that I have also stayed loyal because the vast selection of cars I have have meant I have invested heavily in receivers which is a much bigger cost than the transmitter. Just something for you to think about and maybe feature in another vid. Keep the vids coming guys 🏁🏁🏁.
@@PopalongRC i have seen that. i just think that as you were discussing the pro and cons of replacing your radio equipment, recievers could of been factored in as can be a costly part of swapping out your car collections radio. But great stuff as alwayss...
Perhaps you could try the same project on stick radios? And or the comparison between driving using a stick radio compared to a wheel and trigger dependent on what you are used to. The rc community all have their preference, perhaps race 2 heats after a little practice and compare driving the same car on both radio types,
I have been using this radio and it has glitched several times sending my car into the wall out of control at full speed. Hope you have more luck with it and would be good to see how you get on.
lots of people love the noble but some say its a bit low. Think Futaba and sanwa are the best so it comes down to which one you like. Noble and Futaba i find really easy to use but i struggle with the sanwa, but then vinny finds it easy!
I've used the NB4 for about a year now, and I have to say it's the best radio gear I've ever used, my racing has definitely improved using it. As always, personal preference....
ironically I picked up a mx6 after issues with my Abisma CR3P. I'm not sure if its placebo affect or not but I feel so much more connected with the car. Only issue I found is the recievers being 40 quid each and nothing else fits 🤷 bar that seems great after few weeks use 👍
I just brought the mx6 to replace my flysky, proper solid link and inspires confidence at speed. You'll love it. I managed to get another reciever for 17 quid on ebay..... I got lucky, but I need another 20 for the rest of my cars 😭
i would have gone for the MT-R in your case (I own MT-4). MX 6 has kind of older protocoll inside (FH-E). I now bought a Absima Cr3P as second radio for bashing and RCs i don't use for racing (can use cheap flysky receivers).
I really prefer to have stick radio’s I grew up with them I raced with them, I can use the wheel but I don’t like them, but a decent stick radio is like rocking horse Poo. I bought a Sanwa MX6 I don’t think much of it , it gets interference near mobile phone masts ,cctv, telegraph poles. Which 🤯🤬 blows my gaskets
I've got the Futaba 3PV, great little radio. All the features for normal use and basic racing stuff and holds 10 cars in memory. Great for casual rc'ers like me or beginners.
the mx-6 by sanwa is a brilliant little controller for anyone learning rc racing and setups. Its what i use on my cars and for me it was easy to use the functions and get the setup needed for my style. i think you will love it more than your spectrum (possibly) 🤣
Aghh,.bud.When u said that "so I decided to go with the sanwa"i was saying "not the mx-6,not the mx-6...!!!"I just went through it last winter.I have a mx-6 with 7 additional recievers...Good radio,BUT...those radios totally loose connection with the car for a second, plus.I mean u have no control at all,Manys curse words said and crashes....And it's a common problem with them. A fellow racer has one with the weird glitch....Maybe sanwa fixed the issue, good luck to you...😢
Good choice, as you say you get all the additional features for 5 times the price. Your radio will never make a difference to your ability, experience, learning to correctly set up your car to your driving style and being patient in your progress will do more for your rc experience than buying the best of everything and expecting to win.
Sanwa is a great choice, although id have went with the MT-5 which is as far as I’m aware is the replacement for the MT-S. as far as radio settings go, steering and throttle speed along with expo and endpoints are some of the most valuable settings you can use as a tuning option for car handling… they are overlooked by so many newcomers as most newbs think they need the fastest settings on everything (which couldn’t be farther from the truth) looking forward to see how you get on with a more entry level radio 😃 Congrats on over 8k subs too 💪
JMO you should have stepped up one level to the MT-R in this case you really get what you pay for. The problem with the MX-6 is the FH-E protocol it uses which is not compatible with the FH-5 protocol the rest of the current Sanwa radios use and it’s not compatible with the older FH-4 protocols of previous Sanwa systems either hopefully it all works out for you. 😉I’m probably upgrading to an M17 from my old MT-44 because it’s the only one backwards compatible with the older FH4 stuff which I have a lot of RX might be willing to do a deal 😋JK I’m keeping it
