- Check out this gameplay footage/review for the playtest of a new early access tactical shooter Bodycam. This game is a multiplayer deathmatch style tactical shooter that looks and feels insanely realistic, using a headcam style to create a shooter that feels unlike anything I've ever played. I'm very excited to see where they take this one as development continues.

You left out the part where you actually CAN'T play it, and its not even in public beta tests.
You should check out Ground Branch as well, the Russian Building map is copied directly from that game

The reason it feels so weird aiming is not because there is a delay but because the gun aims independently from your viewport, and your viewport doesn't move until you reach the deadzone at the side of the screen - arma had a similar feature
Insurgency Sandstorm also had the same thing

Yeah previous Bohemia Interactive games used to have that feature, there was a slider where you adjust the swing
Red orchestra had it first, actually some dinosaur fps game with ragdoll physics had it first.
Yeah the bore on the gun is accurate to what ever it points at just like real life the difference between real life and the video games you guys listed coordination between head movement and hand and eyes is seamless for a seasoned shooter that has good hand eye coordination in game it’s all controlled by wrist movements on a mouse so you have to train yourself to get use to doing both on mouse and keyboard

If all you need Is Melatonine, you're lucky man. Doctors had to add serotonine and Limbytril to let me barely sleep a couple of hours every 2/3 days.

0:25 this is in reference to what is called a 'Dead zone', it may go under different names to programmers and game devs alike. But the concept is the same, there is an area in the screen in which you move your gun, not your screen. This is because you do the same IRL, you put a target into the rough center of your field of view, then move your arms and hands to match the gun with the target, you don't move your entire body to do so. Every 'realistic' game does this, dating back to the early 2000's with games like Insurgency or Day of Infamy and even older. Games like Insurgency Sandstorm, Squad and ArmA make use of this technique. But what changes is how severe it is, increasing the size of the dead zone area leads to a more weighty feel to your character, or in this case, that the camera is positioned off to the side of the body. Forcing the player to 'turn' more when they want to turn, but in reality you are 'aiming' then turning.

This reminds me of the old red orchestra games and how aiming works in those.

This seems like a very solid base for a fun game, deathmatch already looks intense, but I feel some objective oriented team based gamemodes could make this game very addictive.

This game will have the same issues every small map with quick TTK game has. Once people learn the angles of each map, it will become not fun to play for MOST people and the player count will drop severely in just a short amount of time. Watch, I hope I'm wrong but every game ever made with this same problem has all suffered the same.
@@TheGospelofKenneth Not sure how this is called, but I believe Zero Hour and Six Days in Falluja have this mechanic that randomizes obj’s and prop locations. Something like that would be really cool.

Play "Days Gone" if you haven't already, I'll never forget almost $#!tting my pants when I got chased by a hoard of them in that game, super intense for a PS4 game. Looks even better on PS5.

Oh man, I love realism in video games, and this one is on top list now.
I wish all fps games had sound design this good. Really is a step above anything else out there.
Flashbangs, full factory locations like those found in Arma 3, spawn protection,team matches and maybe bomb defuse ala counter strike to get the money in.
After that who knows?
Definetely need to sort the frames outside.
It may be a limitation of the way they have it set up.

I though exactly the same. Funker530 gives you a lot of true war combat references (some times quite graphics) and I saw that moment (5:50) I said "Ok, that was accurate!"
I'm eating while watching and I feel looking at the camera and movement of the hand I'm worried I'm gonna vomit. Cn't wait to play! looks great!

this comes close to real gun fights judging from bodycam footage, which also is more of guessing and half blind fire since no one wants to get killed.
yooooo the house map is a modded map from ready or not. i play it all the time. the layout on the inside and mainly upstairs is exactly the same. thats dope asf. anyone else notice it???

Honestly, not every game needs to feel and look arcady like cod. About time devs are dipping their toes to something new.
Back in 00's i loved killzone 2 for the reason it felt super heavy. Yet when you mastered the movement it played extremely smoothly and immersively.

Saying it's "most realistic" is an overstatement, but it's definitely got some of the most realistic (if not the most realistic) graphics Ive seen in a while

Gun play,recoil,lights actually bouncing of walls from flashlights and muzzle flash,can barely see when firing,dust kicking up blocking vision,sound designs and more are very realistic.I haven’t seen any “realistic” games currently that do “realistic” this accurate
@@FD-wl7xqyes, light bounce is cool, it's going to get more common with Lumen in Unreal Engine and overall Ray Tracing. Apart from the fish-eye lens effect and non-standard mouse movement (which was done already years ago btw) it's just not that different from any other FPS game. It's just well polished visually with the sound effects, but that's not realism. Still looks fun tho.

It’s not a copy.Unrecord showed what the next gen of games could be and people just followed.It’s like saying fps games are copying fps games…. Plus this is gonna be a new genre which is “bodycam” genre.Theres also horror bodycam games getting tested already

Attention all future game developers who make FPS games: Stop adding cheap airsoft red dots to your games!
Looks good but the pace is too fast for realism. There is no weight to the characters. TAC gear would weight your movement speed down. Just looks too fast to be realistic. I see characters strife speed is on zoomies, wouldn't happen realistically.

This game will die so quick if they dont rework the gunplay. Gotta tighten up the recoil and weapon/camera sway to something closer to squad, this looks like im watching somebody play vr for the first time

@@MieziWithSunglxzz They clearly copied unrecord's bodycam visuals and even took the exact same map as unrecord used in their promotional videos. It came only a few months after unrecord was shown off. It's hard to say it's not copying, not that it is illegal or anything though.
