    0:45 What ever the diagnosis, the biggest forking problem is she waited a FEW MONTHS!!! from the onset of an obvious problem to see a vet. Why do these owners wait so long to get help? It is mind boggling. ANd for those who say vets cost money, or they don't have time. It takes five minutes from anywhere in the country to dial a free phone and ask a few questions of a vet clinic to at least get an opinion if they should see a vet straight away.

    My dog had a problem where she couldn’t walk and since she’s a Labrador and I was feeding her, she wouldn’t get up like usual. Waited 10 minutes, she still didn’t get up and it was 8 at night. I called for my mum and so my dad picked my dog up, put her in the car and took her to the vet. Had to have a team of 5 to get out. The problem was from a massive tumour the size of a football growing in her chest growing since she was with the other old owners she had. She’s a rescue.

In about a week or so he was back running around like normal.

    Adorable dog! I have to wonder what kind of diet Gracie is fed that leads to a vitamin E deficiency. Every food I've ever bought for my dogs includes vitamin E, among others. Maybe Gracie just doesn't process vitamin E efficiently and needs more of it to make up for that.

    This reminds me of a pup I had: suddenly his front legs were all crooked - looked really odd - and difficult for him to get around. X-ray's indicated physical therapy was needed; which I did for weeks with no improvement. Then I went online and found similar cases. Their (non-professional) opinion: change the protein, calcium, and magnesium percentage in his diet. I did; a week later he had perfect legs. Another time I had a puppy with demodectic (puppy) mange - others in the litter had it, but my pup was the worst. Vet said a regiment of chemical dips were in order. My thought was since demo is caused by an immune system not keeping up - why would subjecting this little body to chemicals regularly make it stronger? Instead I put her on immune boosters, gave her baths containing borax detergent and a few other ingredients, and changed her diet to one without any yeast. After getting worse for 6 weeks, once on the new regiment she was completely cured in 2 weeks.

    • @sarahholland2600
      @sarahholland2600 2 года назад +1

      I volunteer at a shelter . Demodectic mange is a parasitic mite that lives in their skin. A low immune system makes it likely that yeast skin infections then set in, making the mange harder to get rid of, that's all. It's v v dangerous to puppies to use harsh detergents & home remedies. You're v v lucky it didn't make things worse . We get pets ALL the time with chemical burns on their skin because people use home remedies for fleas ( Spot On is less than £10 a month online) & mange.

    • @testerwulf3357
      @testerwulf3357 2 года назад

      The chemical dips are to kill the little buggers causing it fyi. You’re very lucky what you decided to do instead went fine though the vet recommendation for the dips may of been a little more effective and safer! Mange is caused by these little bugs in the skin, so boosting the immune system doesn’t fix the issue as the problem isn’t their immune system. It’s kinda like giving special baths for fleas.

    • @MsNoPixel
      @MsNoPixel 2 года назад +7

      1) not everyone has the money. 2) not everyone trusts doctors. 3) sometimes it’s something not dire. Yes while it is irresponsible everyone has their reasons, just because you or me don’t understand them doesn’t mean they aren’t relevant reasons or feelings. My neighbors dog lost the use of his back legs & regained them within a month, without treatment, he apparently pinched a nerve & everything worked itself out, was it right not to get him checked? No, but it’s also not my right to judge as its not my animal & not my life, idk his reasons for not taking them & I say that as someone who’s worked with animals for the last 15yrs. You also need to understand that some people are scared to find out the truth root of a problem, hence why so many people go years & years with issues without getting them checked, it doesn’t make it right but sometimes are minds deal with things easier if they’re ignored, it’s sad but true. Doesn’t mean I’d leave my own dog or self go through something like that but everyone is different.

She was recasted at 6 weeks, and two days later she chewed the cast off. When I called the vet she said to just leave it off. On her recheck she could walk normally and tge vet was confused as to how she was doing so well I had this work on my elderly first miscarriage who was unable to even climb steps, a friend had i it work on her on her retriever, and a german shepherd U had went down after a rabies vaccine and it along with water therapy got her back on her feet.
