- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming and promises to answer our biggest Final Fantasy VII Remake questions. Here are 7 questions we need answered in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
If you played Final Fantasy VII Remake you probably share some of the same questions. Why is the sequel called Rebirth? Are we entering an alternate universe? What’s the deal with Sephiroth? And do we think Aerith might avoid her terrible fate? We hope Final Fantasy Rebirth to hold all the answers.
FF7 Rebirth has Rob excited for many reasons - he’s watched the trailer about 500 times by now - but mainly because we’re finally going to get the answers to the questions raised in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Prepare to go down the rabbit hole as we look at alternative timelines, multiverses, crisp packets and cartoon dogs, and ponder whether one of the most iconic deaths in PlayStation history might be avoided.
Just a quick warning that we will be discussing spoilers for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion and the original Final Fantasy VII in this video, but we’re desperate to talk about this stuff because the way Final Fantasy VII Remake ended was so surprising, so incendiary, so brazen and exciting that the thought of getting resolutions to plot points on which I’ve been wondering and theorizing for over three years now.

I'm not a FF player but I love Robs excitement and love the Friday feature throw back style, Friday Features were what started me watching Access
The Friday Feature intro had me grinning, the Ben Starr cameo had me giggling like the unrepentant fangirl I am, and Rob's excitement doubled my own hype for this game!!! I think Sephiroth knows what happened before and this is part of his ongoing struggle with Aerith in the life stream. Whether we can really save Aerith and whether that's what we should do is such a big question. Aerith is the only one keeping Sephiroth at bay in the lifestream, so is Aerith surviving really just playing into Sephiroth's hands? I would love to save Aerith and I can't wait till we get more info on Rebirth. I haven't got the PS5 version of FF7R, so I had no idea till now that there's an extended scene with Zack showing up at the church. My imagination is going crazy with that tidbit. ❤
Thank you, Rob, for always adding to the Final Fantasy anticipation with your passion for the series. It's always so great to see other people who love this game and the characters as much as I do. It's so cool that Ben popped in for a cameo too. I would love to hear what his thoughts are on Rebirth. Clive is one of my all time favorite characters now and Ben's performance and his appearances here and on Outside Xtra have made me an even bigger fan of him and FF16. ❤

The music during the second half of the Rebirth trailer is so good it gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it! I've probably watched it close to 50 times

Seven seconds. I believe it is the time from sephiroth showing up on screen to when he stabs aerith so I think he is directly alluding to if cloud can stop him from killing aerith this time around

Actually it is said in the game itself in a recap section that Sephiroth refers to the seven seconds till the end of the world that will be caused by the meteor, and we know that this will be prevented by the planet itself with Aerith, this can explain the reason for Forgotten City's OST, the primary capital of the Cetra civilization.
This AU presentation of events has been very interesting so far, and more than a little mysterious too.
I go to sleep almost every night with the Friday features playlist running as I doze off. Favorite videos on the channel by a wide margin. Awesome to see this throwback style video on a Friday, as I miss those old Friday features so much ❤

I've missed this format. Was literally why I subscribed, long ago. Good to hear you giddily talking about games again Rob.
I dont think it's an alternate timeline anymore. I think the "Seven Seconds Until The End" comment Sephiroth made was that, in seven seconds from when he said that, the entier timeline would be rewritten. Everything that was "Fated" to happen is now broken. And now Sephiroth actually has a chance at victory.
I think we steped into this new timeline at the end of remake, thats why all the main party was dead in this new timeline in order to not have 2 clouds and tifas running around.
So in rebirth zack will join up with the party at some point not understanding how they can be alive when he found them dead in midgar.
But who knows😂😂

This is taken from the game. The singularity takes place in a place without time and have entities that are summoned "from a future timeline which gave birth to them". The whisper hiveminds defeat echoed into the past, altering Zacks "fate". Regardless of what people think of timelines, and depending on definition and rewritten, parallel or multiverse, time has been altered, and the party has to walk at least a semi different path or the game with its datalogs and the developers lie to us (not in a good way).
The reason we even talk about "timelines" is because "fate" as an entity in FF VII remake has knowledge from a "true" future that is the OG+compilation, but even remake itself is different as you encounter whispers which didn't happen in the OG. The reason they are there is that the "timeline" is deviating, which gets entangled with destiny because there is a masterplan laid out for all of time which fate protected. Without Fate, you no longer have the same "timeline", unless the world has a meta fate which makes things turn out the same anyway.
Enjoyed seeing this format of video again, Rob - and on Final Fantasy as well! Sharing in the excitement and the unanswered questions :)

Oh they absolutely know that whether or not you can save Aerith is the biggest thing on everybody's mind, it's the most definitive moment of the original game and the biggest unknown of this new, unfamiliar FFVII timeline. They know, so I think a big part of the new dilemma will be the cost of doing so and whether or not its too much. The tragedy of loss is literally the theme of the original game, so I don't think they're going to let you have your cake and eat it too with the possibility.

What an amazing video - even it being a throwback to a classic Rob Friday Feature marries up perfectly with how FFVII Remake has been familiar & yet different at the same time.
The seven seconds thing is actually explained in the Remake recap sections. Its seven seconds before Meteor hits the planet - Cloud will have to make a choice.
Close! But, it's actually in reference to Sephiroth's on-screen time in TFC before the blade comes down.
Sephiroth is telling Cloud about that same time window, and wondering if he'll be strong enough to act accordingly in order to stop him.

What a great timing of this episode 😂. I had just spent today probably watching close to 20 different reactions to the trailer just because I love to see people's thoughts on it. I remember our schools rumors on how to save Aeris. I thought myself if you could somehow manage to touch the ghost Aeris in the church when you can go back there later in the game, that you would get her back in the party. But never managed to get close enough 😢. If she sees you even once she disappears forever. Another rumor I heard was something along the lines of, if you do not get Yuffie or Vincent, and go to the Crater to the mushroom room, there would be Zack waiting in a corner😂.

There is a brief cutscene that could potentially reinforce the notion that this remake is, indeed, another interpretation of the original game, where Sephiroth is fully aware while Cloud remains perplexed. This particular cutscene unfolds shortly after Cloud falls from Sector 5 and crashes into the church. Upon waking up and reuniting with Aerith, there's a momentary glimpse into the future (or perhaps an alternative timeline) where he sees her praying in the City of the Ancients. In the original timeline, Cloud didn't experience such visions of future events. This could suggest that the Remake timeline is, in fact, an alternate one.

Not only does Sephiroth know this is a Remake and is actively changing things, but Aerith is fully aware too. She tells Cloud "Don’t fall in love with me". She knew about Marlene without Tifa mentioning her. She alludes to Wedge that she knows the plate was going to fall. Anytime a character is gonna do something they didn't do in the original she always stops them and says "No! Wait! You can't do that." She even holds back the party from fighting Sephiroth on the expressway initially saying "This isn't the way it's supposed to be". Also she shows Marlene a vision of the future to calm her down and does the shush motion indicating she has a secret. She even knows Red is a party member when she tells everyone to stand down because "This child is a friend". And just before you go into the singularly she says you won't just be changing fate but changing yourself as well. Meaning with no pre-set script from the planet they will effectively become different characters with new events in a new timeline.
With Aerith being fully aware it's going to make Rebirth all the more interesting!

@@KR555FAIZ I think it's because she's in touch with the planet and she was able to see all future events it had already planned out. Once they destroy the whispers there's no one set path anymore and it overwhelmed her to see all the infinite possibilities. "Boundless terrifying freedom. Like a neverending sky". But there's also a theory out there too that original Aerith, who was in the lifestream, sent all of her memories back in time to her younger self. And her opening her eyes in that alleyway in the intro is her awakening with all that knowledge from her future self. I mean there is a scene in her room where she says she's lost in a maze. Them she repeats a phrase to herself "Follow them. The yellow flowers". Maybe that was a phrase her future self sent to her to help whenever she's doesn't know how to proceed?

Rebirth is gonna refer to the fact that Cloud just handed Sephiroth the black materia at the end of the game and Sephiroth achieved his... Rebirth :o And many other things I'm sure.
