Just watched this and it sounds awesome. Mines a tad bit crackly probably due to it just being factory resonator. But honestly I'm betting a big turbo swap will make that difference in turbo exhaust note. I subscribed. Gonna keep up with ur future posts. Love the color by the way.
Luke Skywalker Thanks bro I appreciate it!! The color grew on me when I first got it and I love it now its so unique. Looks 1000x better than any cobalt out there. As far as big turbo, I feel like it wouldn’t make a huge difference just needs to have a more free flowing exhaust. I would love to put a zfr on mine if the k04 blows and I have the money
@@tyvaldez5576 I will admit. When I side exited my srt 4 she turned heads like a sumbitch. But I already have a 3 inch catless zzp. What else is there you think.
I dig it 👍 have a hhr ss. No doubt fun cars they made. Boost turned up alone is good for around 290hp and 315foot pounds at the crank. Intake, dp and exhaust you're probably moving that to the wheels 👌 rest of the turbo piping and a serious tune you're dipping well into the 300plus whp mark. They offer a stage one kit through GM that when they were new didn't void the warranty and just turned the boost up. Where i found those initial figures 👍 Love your color on the cobalt man.
koolaid water fountains for the fat kids Thanks man!! I never knew about those actual numbers so thats cool to know! I based mine just off of forums and my own guess lol. The color was one of those rare ones that you could get from the factory, my grandpa wanted it when he bought it new in 09. He sold it to me when I graduated high school a few years back and I love it. Cool to see another SS owner!
@@tyvaldez5576 no worries man 👌 Each car is a little different and where you live, altitude, etc, etc haha. Nonetheless these cars really do wake up once you breathe on them. From what ive learned thus far it takes what you've done if not a touch more to get 300whp. I'm gonna do the OEM stage one they offer for my hhr and a full exhaust mot long after that. Here soon, very soon lol. Watching your video got me excited! Can't wait to get my fatter wagon scooting along solid 👌👍👍
I've got a trifecta tune with the zzp upgraded intake. On a good day that disolay gauge spikes just above 300whp. Not sure how much is actually going to the wheels. But it pulls even better with the 3 inch side exit straight piped. Hot days I get at the 285-290 mark. These cars are just good machines if taken care of.
Appreciate the love! Definitely recommend going the turbo route but I’m slightly biased since I love my turbo LNF haha! Boost is always the way to go though!
@@tyvaldez5576 either way the sounds will be demonic! Haha. I like the Cobalt platform because the ones that are cared for and bolt-on filled hold their value considerably well for the year of the car. Plus who doesn’t like spanking civics, ST’s, STIs, and the like in one of the most underrated tuners around?
Oldschool Dude Yeah, I wanna get an actual tune, all I have is a small handheld tuner that remaps the ecu and turned the boost up to 20-22 psi from 15.
All I have is a K&N Typhoon intake so it opened up the turbo noise and gave it the loud release sound when I shift, but I still have the original plastic upper charge piping so I don't have an actual BOV
KseriesHolden In this video, only intake, exhaust, and a weak tune. Since then I’ve added intercooler, charge piping, 24 psi tune with E47 and a downpipe. Makes probably 340 to the wheels on a cold night with similar torque numbers
Ty Valdez definitely sounded amazing in this video! Thinking about buying one myself. Does these cars need to be tuned if you (straight pipe, intake, downpipe, change intercooler/piping, bov ect?) i have zero knowledge of cobalts.
KseriesHolden yeah if you plan on putting all of those mods on, definitely get a tune. The ECU in these cars is a Bosche ECU that has a learn down feature so no matter what mods you put on (without a tune) it will go back down to the power it originally had. So people get tunes so it accomodates all of the mods. These cars are really reliable as well if they are well taken care of and have quite a bit of tuning potential. I shock a lot of people with how fast mine is and I just have basic bolt ons with a stock motor
Ty Valdez heck yeah, is there some sort of tuner that you can buy for these cars? Like Diablo tuner for dodge, cobb for Subaru ect lol. Or did you just go get it dyno tuned?
KseriesHolden the best tune that I have found as far as reliability is through a company called ZZPerformance. They are very good at tuning these cars and have some of the highest hp cobalt’s at around 600+ hp. For their tunes they use HPTuners but you have to use a laptop for that one, so it’s not like a Cobb or any of those which is a bummer. But ZZP will send you a pretuned ECU based on what mods you have and will dial it in from there. They did a really great job with my tune but I havent gotten it dyno’d yet. My numbers are just based on other peoples numbers with the same mods and what I can beat on the street lol
Was wanting one of these cars but the one I looked at the dealer said every time they drive it they have to replace the plugs and coil packs once a week 🙁
@@kseriesholden2606 yes I definitely remember you were saying you were gonna get one! Kinda bummed you couldn’t. Honestly it probably just needs new coil packs or something like that. Theres tons of info on forums and stuff that always answer questions like that

Is this a factory spoiler?
Yes, this spoiler was one of two options. This is the "high deck" spoiler and there was also a smaller "low deck" one as well.
