Nice 08! Beautiful color, I, too, have a red 08 that I've been modding. So far, I'm about 400 to the wheel & almost ready to really crank it up. I came across those unicorn stage 3 cams that are going in soon. Love to see those Cobalts out there! Thanks for sharing :)
@@superbrowndudenational_trx I remember you from back in the OCC days, awesome that you still got it. I still have my 2010 and I’m heading to tail of the dragon in 2 weeks
Love the car, they're so rare and there's not much content on these anymore online. My first performance car was a brand new 2007 Supercharged SS.. Life circumstances didn't allow me to keep it but a few months ago I purchased a 2009 Turbo SS the same color as yours with 40k miles in mint condition that took me years to find. I am excited to modify it this summer. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks man! It's been a solid 16 years with it. Thus was also my first performance and new car I had bought as well. Glad you were able to find a mint LNF in the best color as well! Very few of them are left! Happy modding 🤙🏾
I really don't seem many of these SS Cobalts at many shows in the past. I have a '09 SS panel with the automatic. Its no solch on take off. Its in that rare Aqua Blue Metallic one of nine in that color ordered new 14 years ago.
Nice man, same kinda story. I bought 2005 SS SC victory red when I was in my 20s. Stage 2 gmpp, upgraded brakes, hurst shifter, rims, halo led headlights, torque dampener, typhoon KN ,blackcat custom guages, G85 pgk with 108,000 km on engine. Not a turbo beast but is really fun. 260hp / 14.5 lbs boost.
Hey that's awesome man, tasteful mods and low km's to! These cars were definitely something special in that era of time. Those are pretty decent numbers to!
Super brown dude! Damn I remember you from occ days been to a few meets with you there back in the day. If you ever consider selling I have a buddy who would be fair with you.
@superbrowndudenational_trx chipskey. I'm with the London group. I used to have a red 06 cobalt ss sc with gawdy ass rtx rims lol I recently purchased a 09 coablt ss turbo sedan
Oh sweet dude your pretty damn local to me. Shoot me a message on my IG, I host a couple private track days at Grand Bend. Also check out the Facebook Group Stratford Cruises!
The hood only helps the radiator and intercooler, I doubt it'll help much with cooling the turbo since it doesn't allow a sealed engine bay to force air down the firewall where thr turbo is located while in motion. Eah I love the look or I'd get one myself. I do want to get a hood scope for mine though for that reason but doee help prevent all that intercooler/radiator from recycling into the engine bay. BUT there is a lot in the way of the turbo that'll slow down the airflow over the turbo anyways. Eah! Maybe a sidewinder setup I'll might go with.
The hood is nice for extracting some heat from the motor, it's also light as well which is useful as well. The turbo on these cars are so tucked away as well, which is not ideal. However everything works well together, it's had the same tune for about 12 years now.
@@superbrowndudenational_trx good to hear mang! Ive got a cobalt lt that im modding as a daily i can learn autocross on. Ive bought a lsj engine and could supercharge it but im just worried about fuel economy and longevity. What kind of fuel economy do you get because after all these years it cant be the oem still?
just bought an 09 already set up with a bigger intercooler and zzp cold air intake. looking to do what i can to increase hp to 300 without a tune what would you say i should do next?
Unfortunately anything that you do will not benefit without a tune, as the ecu has a learn down feature that needs to be unlocked. Intake, exhaust and mild tune would be the best bet.
@@superbrowndudenational_trx thats good to know i totally wouldve wasted my money and gotten cucked by that if you didnt tell me. i guess ill do mods first then have it tuned for what ive installed. it shouldnt taken much to get to 300 from what ive heard
