On a rear wheel drive car, it does much the same but stabilises the rear so much more. Confidence will improve greatly. Personally, I think you're going about trying to justify the total invested cost all wrong. IMO, the trick is to just NEVER do the math, then you never feel bad about spending more in mods than the car originally cost! If you do end up doing the math though, the trick is to compare it to more expensive hobbies. For example, when I felt bad about spending as much as I did on the wheels on my Fit, I told myself, "This is still cheaper than owning a horse" and didn't feel so guilty :)
    Great vid BTW, would love to see the accord at a prepped track someday

    • @future62
      @future62 Месяц назад +4

      It's always worth doing the math. Value is subjective so even if he spent more than the car is worth it can still be worth it to him. But he should keep track of the spend and manage costs. Not doing so is a great way to go broke. When I look back at what I spent on cars/bikes I regret a lot of it. It's def worth interrogating every purchase and having some kind of long term plan, with flexibility to pivot when you change your mind and want to move on.

    You should put a Quaife ATB in that, it not only helps you put the traction down when you accelerate but has the same effect on the front brakes, you can feel it share the load when one wheel tries to stop all the braking transfers to the other wheel with grip before the ABS kicks in, the steering wheel gives a little kick to let you know what is going on. I have had one in my Golf for 15 years.

      At 400hp and front wheel drive, "supporting mods" would be installing a driveshaft and getting power to the rear wheels as well

    Yea, our boosted J’s are a pain to get traction. The best 1/4 time on the draggy was a 12.8 and 112 on Toyo RR at 10psi. I’ve broken 3-4 gear like 8x now. Since I’ve up the boost, I’ve put in synchrotech synchros, 3-4 straight cut gears, and 6th gear cuff.. with a Spec 2+ clutch kit and flywheel setup. It drives great now even with double the boost. When I was n/a with fbo in my j35 98 accord sedan I’ve managed a 13.3@108 on street tires.
    But your car looks and sounds very good. The turbo setup looks way better than my 1 week turbo kit build lol.

    Try launching it in second on the street. I could get my best times in my supercharged type r with a second gear launch. I would have to launch about 5000 in second.

    Hi Caleb! Thanks for sharing this build, I love the Accord coupé! Aside from the acceleration, how does the car feel in a nice bendy road? The suspensions seem to improve the experience and perhaps make the upgraded brakes more useful. I would love to know how overall the ride has improved thanks to the engine and chassis upgrades.
    Thanks!

    Needs Lsd with drag slicks. Or AWD with sticky tires. Doesn't hook. It's easily a 10 sec car with the right setup. There are light stock drag cars with just weight reduction and stock motor running race fuel in high 10's 1/4 mile. Trust me all you need is the right setup and that car will move down the quarter mile strip. The v6 is great. Awesome car. Great build enjoy it. My N/A FWD setup hooks and it's fully built. I wish you all the best My friend with your car. Much ❤ Honda Fam!

    Fantastic stuff. I hope he gets a 4th-Gen Acura TL with the SH-AWD. That’ll put down some serious acceleration times with the kind of mods he put on this accord.

  • @victorfigueroa9905
    @victorfigueroa9905 Месяц назад

    You should swap in a j35A8 from a TL Type S or Acura RL (IIRC, all RLs from 08-09 came with the A8) they come with 280-290hp and forged crankshaft and connecting rods factory and J32A2 heads for better flow combined with a j37 plenum (larger diameter Throttle) you would have a better base for that turbo kit. Everything bolts in with almost no mods necessary and wiring harness is plug and play. Also the manual from the TL type S has a LSD and a shorter 2nd gear to help with those launches. I've been loving this series 😊

    we have a buddy with a cammed and basic bolt on Caprice which is just a G8 essentially and that thing traps like 119mph and low 12s so the accord is scooting and seemed like you only went through maybe a gear and a half the accord wouldve pulled hard up top. typical low tq high hp roll race the torque will hop them out but your HP will reel them in. built>bought

On 275 nitto street tires the best on street Ive ever gotten is 4.4 seconds to 60 mph due to horrendous wheel spin after 4500 rpm- 7700rpm when my P1x makes boost. Im sure if you got some drag radial it would take 1/2 second off your 0-60 easy. Im betting high 4s. Awesome video
