Hey man nice race! Just as expected from the tune. Get that intercooler and you’ll walk him for sure. I use to see .7 Knock every time until I got my Intercooler. Never been higher than .65 and that’s constantly WOT to 100+ MPH . That intercooler is holding back a lot of power due to heat soak. Bruh is chilling at 15 psi on that Balt and them babies can push so much more stock. Still recommend getting a Z series turbo for quick boost or the 257 for big power. Love the car
I feel like part of the issue is that the Si engine is just too small in the first place. I don’t know how confident I would feel pushing a 1.5 liter engine to the max. I’ve never driven Si’s before but I imagine that those previous gen’s may have been a different story with their bigger engines and VTEC. The Si is better suited for a boring guy like me who doesn’t race or mod his cars tbh. I think someone like you might enjoy a more powerful ride. You mentioned the BRZ and as an owner of a WRX, I think you’ll come to love Subies in general.
New forged rods (to prevent most common engine malfunction on modded 10th gens, thrown rods) - $750 New clutch (to hold and utilize new whp and wtq) -$450ish? Price without a new flywheel. PRL Flex Fuel Kit (best bang for buck power and torque gains, also allows engine to run a little cooler) -$450 New tune for FF kit ($???) Beyond that work on keeping your engine and oil cool, maybe better intercooler, and you already have CAI + exhaust. Biggest shortcomings on this civic appear to be the piston rods failing around 280 whp (if I remember correctly), and the clutch inability to hold 250+ hp. I've been meaning to start my own vlogging on my own same '20 civic si. These are roughly my game plans for the build. You might want to look into new rods if you want to keep pushing to stay on the safer side of catastrophic engine failure. I think the 10th gen Si can be a relatively stable 300 hp ride for sub 30k including new purchase price. My $.02, I also enjoy the channel. 👌
Cody Henry so, i plan on stopping here at TSP stage 1 as far as tuning. The amount of full throttling i do, though, it would probably be wise to upgrade the rods just for peace of mind. I was originally planning on the intercooler upgrade being my next mod, since sacramento gets like 105 degrees for a few months straight in the summer. Have you done any of these thibgs to yours yet?
@@Camhill182 I haven't altered anything yet I've just put down my first 1k miles and trying to figure out in what order I'm going to be doing these upgrades (and how I'm going to pay for them!) Probably KtunerV2->Clutch and Rods->CAI and Flex Fuel ->intercooler->exhaust. A lot of folks seem to swap the piston heads while there down there too, but I probably won't. If you DO change out your rods it would be super awesome if you could throw up some good photos of your piston heads, cylinder walls etc, for science!
How do you expect to beat somone if your not using your whole RPMs , last time I check your red out lines should be blinking 3 times before sifting and your exuashust should pop after shifting. So stop covering up your speedometer . I have a SI and I can keep up with a STIs, focus STs and g35s
I am so confused as to why a lot of front wheel drive fans back in 2009 didn’t buy the Chevy Cobalt when it came out...I bought one back in 2011 used at 17,000 miles for $20,000 from the Chevy dealership in East Texas and it was such a fun car and quick and it seemed that not many people bought this car when it was out at the dealerships it’s not like it was expensive so I just didn’t understand and still don’t till this day... and now these cars are still rare and selling but now they have a lot of miles. But it was a good car to buy.
Cameron hi I'm from Trinidad in the Caribbean and I own the cvt 10th gen civic with the Hondata 6psi tune, what is your thought moving to the Ktuner with TSP stage 1 tune?
Cameron Hill ya man take your time with that, everyone who owns one uses it for racing so you’d definitely want to get one that’s in great shape. can’t wait for you to get one !!
That was awesome man! Really liked the montage before the actual race really nice man! Do you feel any clutch slip? I think some lighter wheels will help too! Also look into 27Won, maybe can get a sponsor from them? I heard the rear motor mount will be really helpful! Keep it up man! Love the Civic Si!
Thanks! I felt no clutch slip as of yet. Hopefully I wont have to replace the clutch for the time I own the car. That'll be an expensive thing to get done. and good lookout, ill send them an email
Cameron Hill I ran TSP Stage 1 for a while and mine started to slip, others haven’t had that issue but I’m full bolt on. I did the Civic Type R retrofit and I’m loving it. Stock feel and it NEVER slips. Also, 27Won CAI is a solid buy too. Give me a follow on IG which is @pwp.fc3 to see my build. Also, HMU if you wanna talk mods or anything about the car. Great video btw and I’m subscribing right now.
I have a 2019 Si and it’s stock. I want to use PRL. If you don’t mind me asking about how much was all the parts plus the tune. I am not trying to spend ridiculous money but I want a good product as well as a good tune
I’d keep the SI. Just upgrade internals, clutch, and go prl turbo then just go bolt ons and e85 tune. You won’t regret it and you won’t compromise having a nice quality car and still decent on gas while still being reliable. You’ll easily be able to hit 400-450whp with a built motor and upgraded clutch. Stick with the 10 gen.
Frank Ross exactly. I’d pay it off if he didn’t buy it cash. Then piece by piece start doing what I said above. I’d start with clutch, then go internals, then upgraded turbo, fbo, e85 tune. Then maybe some wheels, brakes, suspension. Year by year just slowly start building it. People are so quick to just give up and want something faster out of the box
@@ZFA1738 the only thing is he got the si to create content and he is scared that it might blow up with all the mods but if he does it right it would work. But he keeps saying "time for another car" so i guess he made up his mind sigh. Bye bye Si you will be missed.
Frank Ross I mean yeah people pushing it past 300whp are blowing up because they constantly beat it up. But with an upgraded turbo I’d trust that motor with 300whp. Then with upgraded internals, intercooler, clutch AND a turbo, I’d trust that engine to go 4-5 hundred to the wheels no problem.
hey I love your videos, maybe let others drive your car,and test the times against yours.too see if your using the cars full potential.Keep up the good work

@@Camhill182 wait...was that the "rematch" video?? I DID watch that one! For some reason I thought that was with your Type R...my bad!! Gotta keep this sh*t straight!! 😜
They say cars have to be heavy because all of the stafty stuff that has to go into them. But that's not true because you can get a lotus and it's gonna be a safe car and barely any weight add its like owning a mr2. It would be pretty cool to take a 240sx and put a k20a2 in it
Great video keep it up. Couple items I want to mention. Weight reduction is huge especially on rotational mass like the wheels. Doing a forged wheel upgrade should shed some weight and act almost like a tune. More power and more responsive. Also the si are still beating the type r in straight line racing. Look at k20z3allmotor aka eman. He does the type r clutch retro fit for the si. His car has insane power. Last knock is not good. Could be cheap gas. Try shell Chevron or 76. Worst case try adding one or two gallons 100+octane and watch the knock. Good luck
I know you’ve been having issues with ktuner. But when you were running the basemap 19.5 and 23 psi was the car solid? Or was it acting up even with that tune? Dig your videos man!
The car was okay, but I don't recommend running them. I'll explain why in a video, but heres the thing: If you already spent hundreds of dollars on either the Ktuner or Flashpro unit, whats another $80 for the tune? Everyone who has ktuner should have either MAPerformance or TSP's tune
Cameron Hill thanks for the reply man. I ordered my ktuner from MAPerformance so does that mean I will have the tune or I will still have to buy it? I just want my car to be reliable with rev hang gone and a slight bump in power
@@logjammer9862 Im not sure if it came with it or not. I assume it would, but it should tell you during purchase if you got the tune with it. If you're just looking for a small power bump, I recommend the TSP S1 tune and just keep it in either the 19 or 21psi modes. Or, you can use the MAPerformance tune because it pushes the car a little less than TSP
I'd talk with your local custom exhaust shop before buying an aftermarket system. They might be cheaper & better for your wheels, bro. Gr8 content btw.👌🏿

Tbh good race between you guys but a base map is just a tune so your can can run better with the aftermarket parts you put in. Although I know for a fact tuning your car will make a huge difference hp & tq wise. I have a 2013 Civic SI and I had a base map and it doesn't compare to the dyno tuned I have on right now.
Did he do a rear bumper swap on his cobalt? Those taillights were from the earlier model supercharged cobalts, iirc they switched the rear and engine in 08
10th gen si Stock can hold 500 wheel but a bit too much for stock motor cause it will eventually blow. Ill say upgrade intercooler and some other parts and try to push at least 350 to the wheel. youll be good for stock motor unless you want super fast car build internal or get supercar lol
I owned a 09 cobalt ss before I bought my 2018 si the civic is a nicer car but the cobalt was much more exhilarating and after 7 years of ownership of the ss I sold it for 8500 my hats off to gm better bang for the buck, I really love my si but the ss was built better for performance and a cheaper car
Why hasn't the Cobalt gotten a tune from ZZP yet? I have a HHR SS with LDK swap, FBO, full suspension , tune, etc and I walk the new Camero SS. They may have been stock besides exhaust but I walked 2 already so it deff wasn't a fluke.
If you don't mind me commenting on your civic I think your blow off valve is the problem if it's not a recirculating valve and it should circulate back in to the and not fully to atmosphere if you're not having problems right now there's a possibility that you may. Just trying to look out for you I'm a 10th owner as well.Be cool

@@WilliamStewart1 I didn't know that. The stock cobalt SS has a K04 turbo?
Ive always adored Subarus, just never pulled the trigger on one. Maybe the next gen STI
Love seeing the cobalt again. Miss my 06 sssc
New forged rods (to prevent most common engine malfunction on modded 10th gens, thrown rods) - $750
New clutch (to hold and utilize new whp and wtq) -$450ish? Price without a new flywheel.
PRL Flex Fuel Kit (best bang for buck power and torque gains, also allows engine to run a little cooler) -$450
New tune for FF kit ($???)
Beyond that work on keeping your engine and oil cool, maybe better intercooler, and you already have CAI + exhaust.
Cody Henry hey Cody! Thanks for the detailed comment. Mind if I ask you more questions about upgrading the rods?
@@Camhill182 Sure thing fire away.
@@Camhill182 I haven't altered anything yet I've just put down my first 1k miles and trying to figure out in what order I'm going to be doing these upgrades (and how I'm going to pay for them!)
Probably KtunerV2->Clutch and Rods->CAI and Flex Fuel ->intercooler->exhaust. A lot of folks seem to swap the piston heads while there down there too, but I probably won't.
If you DO change out your rods it would be super awesome if you could throw up some good photos of your piston heads, cylinder walls etc, for science!
are you going to install the rods and pistons yourself?
How do you expect to beat somone if your not using your whole RPMs , last time I check your red out lines should be blinking 3 times before sifting and your exuashust should pop after shifting. So stop covering up your speedometer . I have a SI and I can keep up with a STIs, focus STs and g35s
the powerband drops off after 5800 rpm in this car. thats why
@@Camhill182 I'm sorry to hear that , you need to check that out . I didnt start flooring my car till 15kmiles . That might be the issue
edgar solache .. its the way the car is. Have you seen a dyno chart for our cars?
@@Camhill182 I have but I really not been having none of those issues , thank god
I think its a great idea. the TSP S1 tune is much more safe
Good job, Cam!
Trading the SI for a newer Mustang GT or Camaro & having an RSX Type S as a project car would be awesome. No replacement for displacement!
That might be the plan! we'll see. I really would like the second gen Subaru BRZ, though. It is supposed to be revealed soon
Except forced induction haha
yesss bro i had to come straight to the comments when i heard you’re gonna get a type s😏😍
Its happening! Waiting to find the right one
Cameron Hill ya man take your time with that, everyone who owns one uses it for racing so you’d definitely want to get one that’s in great shape. can’t wait for you to get one !!
Nathan Callender i cant wait either! Gonna be a fast and furious build. All out
That was awesome man!
@@Camhill182 Good luck man!
Love the style of your videos keep up the good work👍🏻 also are those Unity Performance side markers? if so i have them for my civic as well haha
Yes they are! And thanks man
Good vid, Cameron! Glad to see you're getting faster. The better IC will help with those pulls. ;)
What RPM are you shifting into 4th gear at? 3rd pulls hard up to red line. 4th gear seems sluggish to me in my 2017
4th goes really hard with the TSP Stage 1 tune. I shift right before 6k
I have a 2019 Si and it’s stock. I want to use PRL. If you don’t mind me asking about how much was all the parts plus the tune. I am not trying to spend ridiculous money but I want a good product as well as a good tune
Prl cold intake is around 400 and the tune plus the actual tone 600+ and catback is 400+
Just want to say thanks for the content ive been watching all your civic si vids cause I was gonna get one but I ended up purchasing a veloster n
Listen to this man keep the si bro you can build it to be faster! Dont be so quick to get another car.
@@ZFA1738 so the 1.5 liter engine can be built to push 4-5 hundred whp and still be a reliable daily driver without any major issue like low mpg
Do you get the no lift shift on the Hondas tune? Both should run using that feature
Yes i do have that
how mush boost is it pushing now i think i uploaded mine wrong too, but i have the race version since i have the prl cobra race maf
hey I love your videos, maybe let others drive your car,and test the times against yours.too see if your using the cars full potential.Keep up the good work
Did you ever race with the Phearable 1.5 tune in the 10th gen? Just curious if that would have made a difference...? REALLY wish those si's were faster. I LOVE the way they look!! My Ktuner and tune get here tomorrow! ;-)
Yes I did
@@Camhill182 wait...was that the "rematch" video?? I DID watch that one! For some reason I thought that was with your Type R...my bad!! Gotta keep this sh*t straight!! 😜
They say cars have to be heavy because all of the stafty stuff that has to go into them. But that's not true because you can get a lotus and it's gonna be a safe car and barely any weight add its like owning a mr2. It would be pretty cool to take a 240sx and put a k20a2 in it
Enjoying these si vids!
Thanks! More to come
Great video keep it up.
It seemed like your problems happened after you installed tsp though
@@logjammer9862 Im not sure if it came with it or not. I assume it would, but it should tell you during purchase if you got the tune with it. If you're just looking for a small power bump, I recommend the TSP S1 tune and just keep it in either the 19 or 21psi modes. Or, you can use the MAPerformance tune because it pushes the car a little less than TSP
Cameron Hill your a good guy man. I appreciate you taking the time and responding. I just subbed and hit the notification button
I'd talk with your local custom exhaust shop before buying an aftermarket system. They might be cheaper & better for your wheels, bro. Gr8 content btw.👌🏿
damn in australia we don't get the 2dr Honda Si man there all 4dr.Man i went back and watched your vid with the wrx again and then this one man your a great driver man and the si is pretty quick i think you should keep at it if i could get a coupe si i would lol love the channel man appreciate how you get different angles and really clear wide footage of the runs dude !
Safer with less power or the implementation of torque and boost preventing damage to the cvt?
i dont have a CVT
that BMW burnout killed me. no matter what happens from here i will hit like cuz that shit was hilarious.
Thanks, Kris
Loving the vids brother I would love to see you do alot of different bolt on's that add more horse power to your honda
But I believe the 10 gen is capable of 320 to 360 but not sure what mods you need definitely a cooler and maybe some injectors and e85
I wasnt running a basemap
Did he do a rear bumper swap on his cobalt? Those taillights were from the earlier model supercharged cobalts, iirc they switched the rear and engine in 08
nope all lnf parts on the car brother.
10th gen si Stock can hold 500 wheel but a bit too much for stock motor cause it will eventually blow. Ill say upgrade intercooler and some other parts and try to push at least 350 to the wheel. youll be good for stock motor unless you want super fast car build internal or get supercar lol
ZZP is awesome!! Had there supercharger pulley and some other stuff for my 1995 Buick riviera 3.8 supercharged
If u want to get a faster car look into getting Acura tl type s or a 2017 accord touring those are beast cars just on stock, great video man.
Javonie Clarke I agree I had a TL and those things are beasts stock. I had a rare 6 spd MT too miss that car lol
@@r18ch10 yea I kno I had one to a mt pretty hard car to come buy nowadays especially one in almost mint condition.
Can you explain how you fixed the stage 1 tune problem you were having? I think I have the same problem, I'm only reaching 21 psi.
all I did was redo everything from downloading the Ktuner software to flashing the car.
@@Camhill182 Thanks, I'll try it out now!
Did you switch off tcs completely by using pedal dance?
Noooooo i forgot ☹️

@@MeltingRubberZ28 stupid auto correct. Either way LT1, LS1, LS whatever, unless boosted or built they're slow as fuck.
What’s your budget for the Type S? Those things are getting more expensive.
Rocky32189 i dont want to spend more than $3k. Its gonna be a project
@@Camhill182 Good luck. If you can find a Type S for $3k, it will certainly be a "project" for sure!
Yea, there are plenty of them around the price near me. Dozens. Just need to go start test driving some
We’re you on 93 octane? I heard the TSP tune is optimized for 93 so running 91 may lead to less power and higher knock control.
darn, i forgot to mention that. Yea, I was on 91. Ill try to find 93 for next run
@@Camhill182 Ecu was pulling timing and therefore a bit of power. Rematch him on 93
If you don't mind me commenting on your civic I think your blow off valve is the problem if it's not a recirculating valve and it should circulate back in to the and not fully to atmosphere if you're not having problems right now there's a possibility that you may. Just trying to look out for you I'm a 10th owner as well.Be cool
Is the cobalt no lift shifting?
I find it funny how stock vs tuned cobalt is just as fast
And he still gonna keep pulling you Cameron ... hes slow for a cobalt man that thing only making like 280whp. Wait till hes fbo e47. Making 350whp/360wtq. He slaps a bigger turbo on his like mine sheesh. Mine making 456whp/415wtq stock motor. My block getting here soon and head getting ported hoping for 650whp
Are you out in Indiana? Looks like it
Yo bro how about a Evo X after the Civic? I have a Sport right now but the Evo will be next!
hm, Im just pretty set on the second gen BRZ
Its not all about speed my friend
Hit me up if you need any performance parts for the build. I’m a Saikospeed sales rep and can get you anything you need to add more power! Great videos btw!!!
Hey man! Thanks. Whats your IG?
Close one. Can't wait for another rematch when you upgrade the intercooler and headers.
Maybe, peobably wont run him again though
I just got done rewatching this video. I wonder if the 237whp is actually real. Do a Dyno run to get the actual number if you can.
You use 91 or 93?
The reason ya knock control so high is cause ya was racin and revin it up in boosted cars especially on 93 ya have pre ignition (ping) it can blow the engine if the tune doesn’t account for knock
No sport mode on?
Stage 2 coil packs and upgraded computer would prolly make your car alot faster
That cobalt need Stage 1 tune and it will eat that civic.
Mariusz maxankazuya of course
Cobalt around 2750 pounds.
Get an MK7 GTI. With only a few bolt-one and e85, you can embarrass a lot of V8 cars. At stage 2 the new GTI’s can push over 320hp on stock turbo.
I hope you find a good acura rsx bro let me know how that goes as i want one as well
I think the si is 205 horse power isnt it
205 to the crank, yes. TSP dyno'd it at 182 to the wheels, stock
