I kinda want to buy a 10th gen Honda civic Si they’re kinda quick good on gas and reliable for the most part but apparently the golf GTI and a Subaru WRX are way quicker and I do kind of want a quick car lots of people on the road drive modified cars and I would like to keep up and do runs for fun
@@turbro7185 trust me bro I get that 100%. You would be pretty surprised by the cars you would beat just from basic bolt ons. Ive beaten ever single WRX Ive came across even the newer VB wrx’s. Of course these si’s aren’t the fastest car on the road, but they are definitely fun to drive especially through curvy roads. I would 100% recommend one over a wrx or gti.
That’s so dope so hear bro! I personally went to Brandon Honda because I bought my SI there. I was originally under the impression that they would be covering that 10 hours of labor under my warranty and then I would have to buy the rv6 gears but they just ended up not even covering the labor. The advisor I worked with throughout this whole process explained to me that any of the Honda dealerships will install after market parts, they just won’t warranty the work they do since they aren’t OEM parts. I would recommend calling Tampa Honda when you get the w2 turbo in and asking them if there is a tech there that can install a aftermarket turbo and if so how long until you can get the car In. Brandon Honda got me an hour or two after I got off the phone with them.
@@JordanAckerman_ It ended up being 3k to get the transmission rebuilt? I was thinking LHT in St pete because I wanted to install ARP headstuds, turbo inlet pipe and possibly a new headgasket depending on the cost to pull the head vs installing the headstuds one by one. LHT rebuild honda s2000 engines all the time. I'll and ask the dealer vs the shops see the difference. Thanks for the info man. Maybe I'll see you driving around sometime.
@@85cubanito Yeah they charged me a little under $2,500 plus the $950 for the rv6 gears so around $3,400. I tried calling LHT performance but I believe they told me they wouldn’t rebuild it and only replace it with a new transmission. I would definitely trust them more than some of the techs at Honda.
@@JordanAckerman_ seems theres a lack of shops that work on Honda’s here compared to other states. Will definitely check out the dealer if all else fails. Also, I got a brand new GC+ turbo for the 10th gen Si sitting around if interested.
Definitely not something to keep you from getting one. It’s just something to keep in mind depending on how much you plan on doing to the car and how hard you drive it. It 100% can be avoided if you baby the car and dont go to crazy with the modifications.
I actually plan on making a full mod list video really soon. My Si is pretty much fbo besides flex fuel and a upgraded turbo. I was planning on doing the head gasket and headstuds at the end of the year but I’m not sure now considering how much I had to spend on the transmission.
@@467GAN6 With the new rv6 gears there is a tad bit less torque, but it allows for a higher speed at the same engine RPM.
