I’m having this issue right now. Honda Dealership said it’s the fuel injector for code P0172 $1434 and a misfire in the 4th cylinder for code P0304 $450. We all need to contact America Honda and report this problem. Car just passed its warranty period by 2 months and it started to have this issue. A recall is needed for the fuel injector if a lot of people are having this problem.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord.Sport.1.5 and I'm getting APO.172 and they told me it's the oxygen sensors.I've already changed the injectors. If you could do it do it yourself. It does take like four hours or videos but it's better than paying fifteen hundred or seventeen or two thousand dollars
I had the same issue with my 2017 CR-V! Injectors were replaced two times in 142.000 miles! The mechanic told me that cam shafts and timing chains were becoming an issue. He had two CR-Vs in his shop the week prior for camshaft-timing chain failures! He advised me “to get rid of my 2017 Honda CR-V”! I traded for a 2021 Toyota RAV-4 the next day!
Same with me!!! I’m just about to finish my car loan as I only have $1700cad balance and I only have 104k km mileage!!! That’s is so unfair as the recall issue as I remember in 2019 was about fuel injector…I wonder what happened to yours??? Any update???
Our 2018 CRV is having the same issue and they told us all fuel injectors need replacing. They need to have a recall also for the CRVs...way too many people having this issue.
My guess is the design flaw of the early 1.5T engine of Honda. My car has been suffering from this issue since June and the fuel injector is expected to be replaced next Monday. My dealership asked me to spent about $180 for a level II checking and another $1800+ to replace the fuel injector and $600 for the spark plugs. So I went to a good local auto center twice. First they did not detect any misfire but only P0172 code. According to Honda, it should be solved with a software update which costed me about $270. One week later, the issue happened and a misfire code p0304 is detected. Now I have to replace the fuel injector with about $1400. Hopefully after next monday the problem will be solved. And my next vehicle will by no mean be Honda since they choose to do so little to help its customers.
@richielee62 They had me replace the power unit also, then after that said the fuel injectors need to be replaced. When I questioned that, I was told that " they needed to start there." It's crazy to hear how many other people this is happening to. I would expect more from Honda.
@@richielee62That is what happened in my case. But Instead of Replacing i traded my car for Rav 4 Xle. It is Nice car but after 1 month of Purchase i Miss my Honda since these cars are Slow And Engine Sound Sucks when you move from a stationary point.
I replaced the fuel injectors two times in 142k mi. $1400 each time. My car shop guy said camshafts and timing chains are failing also. The 1.5 turbo engines “just aren’t working out”, he said. I traded it for a Toyota RAV 4 the next day! No more Hondas for me!
We are having the same issue with our 2019 Honda CRV. After diagnostic testing, they said that there is a slight misfire and unfortunately all 4 of the fuel injectors need to replace when 1 is faulty. There is a nationwide parts shortage on the fuel injectors. None in the warehouses so they are having to manufacture them. No ETA on the part. This is my only vehicle and they suggest not driving until it is repaired. My CostGuard extended warranty will pay for the cost of the fuel injectors, labor, & two days of rental car. I have to come out of pocket for the pipe set which is $230. I've called Honda America and filed a report. I've contacted NHTSA and filed a complaint. Not to mention while I was at the dealership, I was talking to the service advisor and he has another customer with the same issue and a sales person knows someone with same issue. Also found out this was an issue with the Pilots but they was a warranty/recall on those. If you are having this issue, PLEASE call Honda America and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
So far replaced injectors still working fine, however, since this warning lights are so many, integrated with the system, not all seems perfectly fixed, example, remote keys, sometimes sensor are so sentive during bad weather, there are still glitches ocasionally observed, not to bad though, but still replacing injectors since still a good investment, it should be recalled though like what other comments said.
Just had all 4 replaced on my Certified pre-owned 2017 CRV touring, no charge it was covered on my 100,000 mile power train extended warranty. Mileage was 94,000 miles. I will never buy new , this vehicle had 5,000 miles on it when purchased in 2018
if you keep you current habbits of lightly driving this car, eventually you WILL run into the same issue. I suggest you clean you mass air flow sensor every year with special cleaner(I use CRC products) and also that you should use fuel additive every year(I use Techron concentrate before oil change). Then every morning once the engine has warmed up enough, you just use the SPORT mode more often, and just dont drive slow with this car. Let the engine get what it wants: more fuel.
Faced a similar issue this last week and was puzzled why this would be a fuel injection warning. The dashboard alerts were so confusing. The whole thing lit up like a Christmas tree.
If you think the software used that causes the warnings to show up is related to fuel injectors is really hard to believe in my own opinion, why not just have fuel injectors warnings instead of all the warning messages. It is a Honda software issue i think. The peace of mind and being confident in driving matters although $1400 is really hard to accept when paying.
The reason all of the warning lights come on is because an error as big as something that will harm a catalytic converter, the engine computer will tell the abs module that it shouldn’t let the Honda sensing functions to work because of the fault.
We are going through the same thing with our 2018. The dealership wants to try cleaning the injectors first for like 970 dollars. What are the chances cleaning the injectors would fix the problem. Honestly we don't have the money to just TRY cleaning only to have to turn around and replace the injectors if that doesn't work .
How do we get a recall on this? I paid $3000 for the fuel injectors and drove off the lot today and stalled out and won’t accelerate. 100,000 miles, 5 year old car
Yes, we let Honda replaced Fuel Injectors(four pcs), and we spent $1400. It looks like the replacement of Fuel Injectors worked, never seen the warning light since then. I asked Honda to give me the old injectors and also showed me the new ones, pls look at the end of the video to see the old Injectors.
I had the same problem. They tried to get 1800 from me. The problem was the positive battery cable was corroded and the wiggle of the solidly mounted battery and to motor wiggleon the motor mounts caused different resistance to the computer. Chanced the battery cable and the problem went away
