    I was trying to do this for almost 20 min off of a photo- couldnt do it and kept falling over sideways. As soon as I watched this video I was able to get both feet up with the support of a wall to kick off i can bring my legs around to the "scorpion" yet but I can at least balance them in the air at a point. Thank you for this tutorial!

      Thank you Debraj, if you practice headstand, this is just next step in to the practice. If you get the right guidance in doing this pose, you can sure get it to balance in just a few months if not earlier. If you have any question about this pose, don't hesitate to ask here or on my IG: skyaryayoga

      @@yogatrends564 Thank you for responding. I can do headstand (usual Sirsasana, tripod and the freehand version) and had been doing for past 6 months (after trying for 6 months). So I want to graduate to next level of this scorpion pose.

      That's a good target to work on. If you practice with one leg forward and one leg back, instead of trying to find balance with both legs, it would be easier to find balance.

    Nice...Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video..I have started scorpion pose from today. Please suggest can I take support of wall...

    • @yogatrends564
      @yogatrends564  4 года назад +1

      Hi Suchu, you can use the wall initially.
      #1: Use the wall to see how your body responds to the weight on your elbows, shoulders and lower back. Here you will find which part of your body are strong and what part you need to work on.
      #2: once you learn how to stay in the pose without any pain on shoulders or lower back or even your elbows, you can keep your body away from the wall, so that as soon you lift up, you have a space to balance before you rely on the wall.
      Let me know how your first few days of practice of this pose goes and I can give you some suggestions based on your progress.

      Do you use a mat to do this pose? Or do you have any injury on your elbows?
      Does it happen when you do headstand?
      If I know more, I can suggest better options.

      Please do the 3rd exercise that I have explained in the video (with elbow plank) and some exercises from my headstand Video, practice this at least 3 times a week and then see if it makes any difference after a month.
      Please share your progress, so I can guide you in your process.

    • @yogatrends564
      @yogatrends564  5 лет назад

      I just realised that I didn't mention about your real question.
      1) Forearm Stand or Scorpion Pose, requires you to use your hands, fingers, forearms and elbows as a base.
      2) You need to be mindful that your hands don't lift off the floor, that can be achieved by firmly grounding your palms and fingers. Followed by engaging your forearms and then elbows drawn towards each other (they should not move outwards as you get in the pose.)
      3) above mentioned positions and engagement of the respective muscles will ensure that you use your arms, shoulders and your pectoral muscles to push the weight of your body upwards.
      Please try these methods and let me know if you have any success.
