    VR is wasted in anything that isnt Sim planes. I recommend playing the sim ground mode and bringing only planes.

      sim is definitely the place for VR. I'm looking at either a used Quest 1 or 2, I want to fly the Tomcat in sim, but the Radar display is below the normal line of sight in the cockpit, I have to hit C and use the mouse to look at it while using R + T-Y-E-RMB-LMB MB3-4-5 and M.wheel down (for TWS) for all my radar functions. I hate it, gonna dust off my old Logitech X3D Pro too.

    Just tried WT in VR, it looks & runs good but I cant get used to not using the C key to look around. VR would make since if you were locked is 1st person view like simulator battles, but it seems harder to scan for targets which may be behind you in air arcade /ground RB.

      if you don't mind the extra cost, i would recommend Virtual Desktop (for the quest 2 version, it's located within the quest's store (in the headset, not the app.) For other headsets, it's on steam.

    Fantastical video and supremely helpful, thought I can't help but point out: Not only is the "view on top of the tank" a 1st person view of the commander (if the tank weren't buttoned down), but you can also manually bind 1st person views to the driver and gunner as well. Then again, as you mentioned: Unless you're playing the simulator mode, using these would put you at a disadvantage.

    I'll admit there are major advantages that you can utilize especially using VR.
    - VR Mode does give you a Minor/Major Advantage.
    - Target Accuracy is far superior and Leading with bullets feels more natural rather than expect a Arcade like experience.
    My Advice?: I would 100% invest into getting a VR headset or FOV Goggles to utilize with War Thunder.
    There is only a couple of Cons though about VR and expected experience.
    - VR mode does lag a slight bit, Although negligible. You still have to have a really good graphics card to support as well.
    - Do not play in Arcade mode with VR to fully experience. VR is made for Simulator mode & Realistic mode. respect.
    Gaijin really has proven that their game can be amazing if provided the options. Granted they have given us a Military Simulator that has the capability of putting you in the Cockpit. Admittedly I wish that Gaijin would focus on interior of tanks in realistic battles. You take the Role of "Gunner / Commander" and have a fully modeled experience. Doing this for every tank would be a good stretch to their capabilities. Because having a fully immersive Option for Tanks would not only apply VR even more... But you have the capability to accurately feel engaged or even immersed in VR capabilities. Alas, We are nearly there... Just the community should purpose the option that you can tick.

    Tank-VR defo puts you at an advantage in close quarters and the good spatial hearing but when on large fields, due to the low resolution, you have no choice but to scan everything with your binoculars before you proceed with care, which is a healthy habit for a tanker anyways. If a your tank gets hit but you're still alive, you'll have a better perception in VR as to where the shot came from.

    VR ground rb made me motion sick after 1 match, airplanes are different, I think it is due to the terrain/landscape, trees, buildings and other tanks so close up and all around you that made me uneasy. I played biplanes in air rb as well as some 2.7 br fighters in cockpit vr with just mouse and keyboard and it was a lot of fun, really low risk for putting yourself into disadvantage like that against monitor players, but it was really thrilling, I did try a few low br sim matches in aircraft and I was out of my league only having mouse and keyboard for that.

    Bro, this is War Thunder not world of tanks. Do you really think you’re going to get first person view in a real tank? Also it already has enough POVs. For example it has driver view, 2 commander views (on top of the turret and on some vehicles an actual commander sight), and a gunner view. Also very nice informative video. I learned a lot about VR. 9/10 gold stars.

    • @RealityRemake
      @RealityRemake  Год назад

      Is simulation better? Why? I didn't bring this up in the video but I was considering a different difficulty so that it would be more immersive and all the player names wouldn't clutter up the screen. I didn't because I had a hard enough time hitting shots even with all the help arcade gives you... and simulation doesn't have as big of a playerbase as arcade in general.

    • @Avetorro
      @Avetorro Год назад +2

      The reason for that is the flight model is way too sensitive for hotas, it’s for keyboard and mouse. You cant fly in vr without a hotas as you can’t see your keyboard. Hence vr and arcade won’t work without major modification to joystick controller sensitivity settings.

    • @ScientistMan96
      @ScientistMan96 Год назад +1

      Honestly, playing ANY mode other than Simulator with VR is actively hurting yourself. Like trying to play baseball with horse blinders on.
      It forces you to play the game in first person mode, giving you far less field of view and camera control than non-VR, so you have less situational awareness. Same with flying planes. Either you fly from the cockpit, which will instantly make your eyes bleed with how mouse-aim throws the plane around, or you play in the odd VR third person you were in, where the plane is in the way of seeing what you're aiming at, making shots less accurate.
      HOTAS is really needed to play Simulator in planes due to the controls you need, but Tank sim mode plays great on keyboard. Everyone is locked to the same commander's top of the tank view, and everyone gets the same field of view and camera. The only real things you lose from arcade when going to simulator tanks is the aim indicator (The little cross that turns green to show a good shot area) and indicators of where the enemy is. But there's no added controls to figure out.
