After they kept ignoring our cries for fixing ARB, mainly the 16v16 issue or actually give us ARBEC I just said enough. Started SB a month ago, never looked back. Fk AIR RB aka AIR AB 2.0
i just wish there was a scaled down mode, or even round based duels. It would make actually dogfighting great again. im sick of taking one turn and eating missiles from 6 different people in both arcade and RB.
@@BuzzGoober2329 let's say if you enjoy the FC3 modules, you will see a lot more.combat in war thunder, the high fidelity cockpit fidgeting is not there, but depending on the aircraft you get FC3 fidelity and in certain cases, such as nap of the earth radar mapping, warthunder is actually more realistic than dcs, because dcs models a flat earth. I fly the mig 21 bis in dcs and warthunder for example, one of the few modules, that I fly in dcs and warthunder that overlap. I found the aircraft flight model more advanced in dcs along with the actual procedural simulation aspects of it, the warthunder version flies similar but not as squirily, starts like an fc3 module, but models combat and damage equally well, in the case of damage models it may be better but the main issue with warthunder is mission variability. Enduring confrontation is the only mission type available to the sim players which can arguably get tedious and repetitive, I would say I enjoy it, dcs is definitely the superior sim but warthunder may surprise a lot of people. Having said that, the grind is really the main issue with warthunder.
I 100% agree LOL... I play a lot of IL-2 and what I enjoy about War Thunder is it is a Semi-Sim, Like i can jump in and play no flight manual needed, no inflight stuff I gotta do, but I don't feel like im playing a full blown arcade game either... Its just easier

War thunder sim was a breeze of fresh air after gajin turning ARB into 5 min battle head-on simulator for me. Problably the biggest problem i had was with keeping track on enemy i was turnfighting. Sometimes i lose them mid fight and get killed. Do you have any tips for that apart from just playing more and getting experience? I'm flying mainly 9.7-10.7 bracket
Part of keeping up with the guy you're fighting is recognizing what maneuver you are engaged in. Rolling scissors, one turn, two turn, etc. If you know what maneuver you're in, you can kind of predict where he should be in relation to you if you lose him (as long as you stay in that move and the enemy hasn't pulled out of the maneuver or done something weird). If you have continued the maneuver for a couple of seconds and still can't find him then try to disengage until you can spot him again. Start by looking behind you and make a partial aileron turn one way and then turn back in the opposite direction. If you don't see him behind, then level out and check all around while flying straight for a second, then go through the partial aileron turn left and right again to check behind. If you still don't see him to your sides or above/ below or in front or directly behind then he is probably behind you flying in another direction because he probably lost you too. So in that case I would turn around and begin searching for him. It also helps to roll upside down and make sure he isn't under you as people like to hide there because it is the least checked area. Also finding a good control setup that lets you fly and look easily at the same time is helpful. What do you use to fly?
@@sammyh.748 Thanks for in-depth reply. Now I use mouse + keyboard and that does the job, but I am going to buy joystick and use it with mouse to look around and problably keyboard for all radar/other settings. Tbh sometimes on first loop doing 1-circle after the merge I lose track when enemy is lower than me because of ground. Like i look at the place he is and do not see him against ground. Sometimes he appears to me, but if not second loop is even worse because I do not even know where he is, did he follow or what. Probably using joystick to fly and mouse to constantly look at him would help.
@@patriktoth6258 hahaha that’s my favorite but what gets me most is most of the time it doesn’t matter if you leave it on, they just keep flying straight. Never understood why ppl do that

do you have a recommended joystick set i should use for simulator? becuase i have the a320 hotas ones and they get all bugged with the input control stuff. thanks
I’m using the thrustmaster tflight hotas one, it’s kinda bad though, the yaw only lasted about a week before it was completely non functional. I just ordered a VKB gladiator with STECS, so I’ll make a review of that soon

That’s because the A32 needs to be trimmed. Turn off damping and trim your elevators until it doesn’t go up or down anymore. It’s very dependent on what speed you’re flying so the amount of trim you will need can vary
It's a very informative video, but i got a problem up on my hand I can't find a way to map my mouse as a pitch axis, yet it pitches even when i take out every bind from it. Do you have any solution for it?
If you want me to do a prop guide I can, but you’re definitely in the minority if you’re just starting the game and trying to get right into sim. I don’t recommend it
@@Webly101 you definitely can lol I got to 11.7 in a fresh tree in about 3 days. Events go brrrr. Anyways yeah I didn’t make a video about controller because I don’t ever play with one. It wouldn’t make any sense for me to because I wouldn’t know any more than you do for example. So I don’t know why you’re complaining about that. Same with the props vs jets thing.
