Totally with you. My first goal for 2024 was 5x-ing the music I make. My channel is about my experience with my music, and the more music I make and market, the better I can serve by reporting on what happened. I’ve always been a fan of your channel specifically because you are experimenting with your own music and reporting back. Keep up the good work pal! Let’s talk soon!

Tom i have a question i have 3k monthy listener's atm and ive been dropping alternative rock songs but if i wanted to releases a song in a completely diffrent genre like edm should I make a completely different music account to not alienate the people who like that style from me

It really depends on what you want to do long-term and how much you want to manage. If you want to manage two profiles and two catalogs, then yeah, keeping different genres separate is probably a good thing, but if this is a natural evolution of your sound and you don't really have plans to return to the alternative rock thing then I'd probably suggest you just forge ahead and do you. Your audience will figure it out. Some will stick around, others won't, but you'll be happier in the long run and won't find yourself trying to manage a second music profile you don't really care much about.
If you have 1M or even 100k monthly listeners I'd say maybe just make a new account, but with 3k, you've got plenty of space to pivot without it really doing you any damage.

I think you should also think about what your audience is connected to: you or your music? Lots of artists change their styles drastically, and their fans stick around because they’re fans of the artist
