I just.. wow, as soon as I realized Rusty Ruins act 1 was about to begin I literally said aloud "holy..." and the music took me back to that 14 year old who fell in love with that level. How you captured each and every little surprise, the layering of the background, reminded me so much of playing S&K on Christmas morning, seeing those lush trees in the background. I would love to pay you for a version like this to own. Only thing that hurts me are those special stages, those mines arrive a little too quickly, more so than they did in S2. Thank you for making a 40 year old feel like a kid again.

This was uploaded a day before my Birthday! Or probably on my birthday, considering the timezones. Ever since that I saw Sotaknuck updated the game to include the Saturn/PC soundtrack, I wanted to see a playthrough of it. Thank you for doing that! I like the clever touches with non-3D Blast songs to fill in certain things like Super Sonic Racing for the Super theme and some Sonic CD tracks for the other boss themes. Dunno where the Act 1 Boss theme is from, though.
Lol Same here. I thought he was gonna do them in separate parts like he did with the Genesis soundtrack playthrough. But the whole video itself is good too.
The ending music in this makes the Saturn DLC seem like the true ending. It's a bit sad that they didn't make the scenery and the sky fade to orange where the sun would set as Team Sonic run on the way home.
Now this is way past awesome. Though personally, if I was you, I would've love to see this been separate videos of each and every zone levels like you did with the Genesis playthrough a while back.
3 things i hate about this sonic game: 1, i hate how badly placed the enemies are. Because of that, you can't run fast. As a sonic game, this is just weird and not fun. 2, the stage before the last has an annoying segment where you must pick the right direction multiple times through the tubes which is annoying as fuck. 3: too many parts that forces you to go back just so you can figure out where to actually go from that stand-point when usually, sonic games offers you multiple paths with one of them being the fastest path.
I also hate how most of the graphics are reused from other sources instead of re-using/adapting graphics from the original game. For Green Grove, they could have at least used the trees and redid some other objects. On SonicRetro, there used to be some really good looking images of a similar project, but those images are all gone since they were on Imageshack and stuff. I may have a few of them on an old phone actually
@@retiar21111: Keep yourself together, this is nothing but a review. The person only said "things I hate", not "why I hate this game". It depends on how much heart and skills you put while developing the game.
Gotta respectfully disagree the Saturn ost can actually be listened to just on its own.... listen to rusty ruin zone tell me that’s not pure atmosphere . Just like the other commenter said the ost really built up the feel of the level
@@bigmacsama yeah but some tracks lacked atmosphere compared to the Genesis version like Volcano Valley and Panic Puppet. And some songs are just worse in general compared to the Genesis version like Spring Stadium and Diamond Dust

the opening is a lot more intense with Panic Puppet's saturn music
That's cuz it's the same soundtrack music the game used.

i like how they used the sonic cd ost to replace any non-3d blast tracks
i know I'm quite off topic but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Colt Reign try flixzone. You can find it on google =)
And Supersonic racing is the supersonic theme

The Act 1 boss theme is the introduction track of Metropolis Street Racer, a favorite of Sota.
@@bladewolfdarknight1605 I see.
They could've just used Eggman's theme, but, I like that they used a more unique track.

If sonic 4 was made for the saturn
It is sonic 3d blast
I'm surprised you did the entire game all at once. Wasn't expecting that lol
Nice work regardless 👍

Shit
Which is funny to me cause when i first played the game, there was a bug that prevented me from keep playing the entire game at once.
Somethin told me to check it out after just lookin at the Rusty Ruins.
How have I never heard of this game's programmer, Sotaknuck, before now? Someone needs to put that dude in charge of Sonic Mania 2 immediately.

Basically the Saturn DLC replaces the Genesis OST with the Saturn OST (and adding new musics)
Whats the miniboss music in the saturn dlc from?
the introduction track of Metropolis Street Racer
Everyone gangsta till Sonic Cd’s US Boss music starts playing
i don't know why but they didn't use the jp boss theme for the panic puppet "mini boss"
So beautiful music
how did you installed it? how did you do it??

Why didn't you turn sonic into super?

To be honest, Gene Gadget Act 1's music for the first 27 seconds doesn't fit with the rainy atmosphere.
I disagree, fits the atmosphere quite a bit IMO.
I prefer the genesis soundtrack
Hey now come on, the Saturn version is about as good as the Genesis too. If not better since it builds the game's atmosphere for the player to endure.
