For this project, we used:
MT-1501
Cap hoop
Richardson 112 cap
75 by 11 Sharp Point needles
40 weight thread
3 sheets of tearaway stabilizer
Topping
Clips
Pins
Let’s discuss profit potential:
The Richardson 112 cap cost $3.50 at wholesale. The stabilizer and topping cost $0.50. That means the overall cost of this cap is $4. You can sell front embroidered caps online for $25, but you can add $5 to your sale price because you are also embroidering the sides. So, you can sell each cap for $25 to $30, giving you a profit of $21 to $26.
To start making embroidered mesh caps, insert the hoop into your hoop station, place the stabilizer on top, and put the cap on the hoop. Before locking the cap in place, move the stabilizer to the mesh side you will be embroidering on. Then you can lock the cap in place and insert the hoop into the machine.
Now go to the panel, press File, choose your design, and press OK. Go to the Design Settings and select the cap hoop option. After that, select the colors you want to use and its sequence. Make sure to set a frameout option before the machine embroiders the mesh side, so that you can pin the topping to the side. You can do this by pressing the F button. Once you’ve set your colors and frameout, press OK, and set the speed to 800 stitches per minute. Then move the design to the far right so the machine turns the cap and gives you access to its side. That way, you can stretch out the mesh, flatten it, and hold it in place with the clips. Move the design back to the center and use the arrow keys and needle number one to make sure you are centered on the cap. Lock the machine, press the trace button, then press Start. When the machine finishes the center design, it will frame out. When it frames out, pin the topping to the side of the cap, and press Start so the machine can embroider the mesh side. After the embroidery is done, take the cap off the hoop and rip off the topping and stabilizer.
And there you have it! You now know how to make embroidered mesh caps, which opens up a new product line for your business. Custom mesh embroidery is an easy and unique application method that will give you a competitive edge against other businesses. Хобби
I love trucker caps! The side mesh design really adds an extra nice detailing.
Yes they’re super popular and people are intimidated by embroidering on the mesh but it’s quite easy!
That design looks so clean!
Thanks! We had fun embroidering it!

Wow, these are industrial machines
They sure are! Very efficient!
Do y’all have a video of how to digitize this? Is there a certain length center to center to hold?
We can certainly make a video of that int he future, thanks for the recommendation
I have tried on the mesh and the stitches got pulled out of alinement. I didnt think of using the topping on the top. Gonna try that. Nice job.
Awesome. Let us know if it works out!
If I wanna do cursive lettering (embroidery) on the side of mesh hats like you showed, is this machine a necessity or can I get it done with another one of your products? Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Very nice video and the cap looks amazing. Can you tell me what brand of thread are you using, as the one I use breaks to often. And where can I buy it
We recommend either Isacord or Madeira threads. Use polyester thread and not rayon. You can buy them directly from the manufacturer if you have an account or many different online supply stores resell these. Hope that helps!
@@ricomatv thank you for your information, I will change as I am using rayon and I went to Joan's fabrics to purchase thread.
How do you get the design to center on the side panel? What parameters do I need to set my machine to?
Hi there, thanks so much for watching. Please reach out to our customer support team by emailing us at Service@Ricoma.com. Someone will be happy to help walk you through this!
Can you make a video for the Em-1010 on how to make the sides

Any tips on how to keep a straight line of text straight on the mesh of a trucker hat? The stitching is very close to the sweatband
Hi! One of the biggest tips for mesh caps is using stabilizer, preferably stabilizer that matches the color of the cap so it stands out.
Will this work on the 10 needle machine? When I bought my 10 needle machine in March 2020, I didn't know there was a 15 needle machine or I would have bought it., the person that sold me the 10 needle didn't explain there were more options available.
The 10 needle will be able to embroider on mesh, but it only has a 220 degree cap rotation. You’ll have to rehoop the hat to do the side.
Could you guys please make a video for the Em-1010 on how to make the sides
Thanks so much for watching. I will pass this on!
Please show us on the em1010 machine
Love the video, interested in buying hats who do you recommend?
Were you looking for blanks?
What wholesale company did you get the Richardson 112? I haven't found a price near that low!
HI Diane, we encourage you to join our Facebook support group, Embroidery and Custom Apparel Mastery. Here we have a list of recommended wholesalers and suppliers. Hope this helps! facebook.com/groups/embroiderymastery
Hi willy, i have a tc machine and when i run the 270 degrees design, the position is not matching as you have yours. I understand i need to have the numbers on the chroma hoop size match the numbers on the tc cap hoop On the tc panel. Is there a good guide for this?
Btw: you are killing it with these tutorials !!
You can go into your embroidery parameters and change the x size of the cap hoop. Keep in mind the number shown in the hoop size is in mm
I needed this tutorial for the mesh cap just for confirmation. 3 sheets of tear away backing and topping. Check ✔Thanks!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the love :)

Hi there! Checkout this video, we hope this helps ----->ruclips.net/video/JJEl1TC66lE/видео.html

Hi there, thanks so much for watching! You can use the frame out button on a cap!
I have 15 hats to do. The front of each hat will be the same but on the side, each one will have an individual number. Can I add the number with the front design on the MT1501 Using the installed fonts?

Hi, are you guys in Miami?
Yes we are! You can find our information here: ricoma.com/US
Is this even possible on a 1501-TC? Holy heck! I can't find these caps for no less than $4.59 each. You all got a killer price...!!!
You can do this on a TC, it supports a 270 Axis on Caps.
Correct! 1501-TC can do 270 degree cap rotation!
Where is the best place to buy caps?
Can this be done on a embroidery/sewing machine ?
Hi there, as long as you have a machine that allows you to hoop a cap, specifically the side of a cap. If not then you'll want to make sure the machine you have allows for 270 cap rotation so that you can embroider on the side of the cap with a regular cap ring.
Where can I have a custom made cap embroidered by you?
Hi there! We recommend reaching out to our sister brand Garmeo so they can help! -----> www.garmeo.com/
Can we embroider baseball gloves with the MT1501?

whats topping
Hi! Here is a list with explanations: blog.ricoma.com/2019/03/15/embroidery-stabilizer-guide-tips-on-how-to-choose-the-correct-backing-for-machine-embroidery-2/
I NEED A CUSTOM HAT FROM YALL I WILL PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR MY DESGIN TO BE MADE
PLZ RESPONDED its a simple design nothing crazy just letters
Hi there, you can place your order here: www.garmeo.com
sUBBED
Thanks! So happy to have you!
Cool video, but make sure you digitize it correctly next time. If correctly digitized the hat should not pucker and the edges where the fabric and mesh meet should be straight with no puckering. It looks like there was no manual underlay or correct stitch angles.
Thanks for your feedback!
Do you do custom digitizing work?
$3.50 a hat?! Where?!
Hi there, thanks so much for watching. Please check out of top 10 list of wholesalers here: blog.ricoma.com/2019/06/06/top-10-wholesalers-for-all-of-your-embroidery-needs/
