For this project, we used:
MT-1501 embroidery machine
40 weight polyester thread
80 by 12 Sharp Point needles
Mighty Hoop
Boots
Let’s discuss profit potential:
These boots cost $60 at a local store, but you can get them online for about $40 or cheaper at wholesale. You can sell monogrammed boots for around $75, so the profit will be around $35.
Now let’s start hooping. Take off the back piece of the hoop, place it on the table, and put the boot over it. Grab the top part of the hoop, put it over the boot, and press down so the hoops snap together. Put the hoop in the machine and make sure it’s locked in. Then, go to the panel, press File, choose your design, and press OK. Press on the button with three blue stars on it, choose the D sized hoop, and press OK. Once you do this, the machine is going to center itself automatically. After that, choose what color you want to use and press OK. For this project, we are using white. Then make sure you’re centered, lock the machine, press the trace button, and increase the speed to 1000 stitches per minute. Now press Start to embroider the design. Once it’s done, take the hoop off the machine and remove the hoop for the boot.
And there you have it! You now have a pair of beautifully monogrammed boots that you can give as a gift or sell in your custom apparel shop. Unique, personalized items like these are simple to do and have great profit potential.
Yeeehaw partner those are some mighty fine dust kickers
I noticed that when the needle changed there wasn’t any tails left. I always have tails!
Thanks for watching!
Any idea what the max thickness (oz. weight) of leather or canvas is that these machines can handle? Somewhere around the 4 to 8oz range of leather is where I stay, and what I would need. 13 to 24oz on the canvas side of things. Thanks, and cheers!
Not sure about the weight, but it more so depends on the thickness. If these machines can embroider car mats with thick rubber on the back, pretty sure sizable leather is doable as long as the needle can go through it. Would need to use thicker needle
@@ricomatv Thanks, a big help and very much appreciated! Cheers mate!
I would say about 4-5 mm thick leather can be embroider ,the only problem you will run into it’s the hooping. You won’t be able to hoop 4-5vmm think leather on traditional hoops but you can use those brackets (I never use them) or you glue them on flat. When you have something very thick don’t forget to adjust (up) the presser foot as well !
Hey willy, willy here!! One thing has not been done is to embroider tackle sports twil appliqué on baseball jerseys. Please look into this as i am in need of making a high quality baseball jersey. I would like to learn how to do some real profesional jerseys.
Great suggestion! I will add it to our list!
Would really like a video on the MANUAL robot frame. No instructions came with it, and would really like to make full use of it. Thanks!
Hi Tom, please send an email to service@ricoma.com
Nice!! Can't believe the machine can embroider on leather, so awesome.
Our machines can embroider several different materials!
ANY embroidery machine or sawing mashing can embroider on leather !
Next episode, Willy should embroider a cowboy hat to match his new pair of monogrammed boots. 🎩
Love the suggestion!
If the boot didn't have a zipper, would the 8-in-1 device work?
Yes just find the one frame with the right size that fits.
Please make a video using the manual robot frame! I just bought one and would love to see it in action
Here's a video with the robot frame, but we will have more coming soon: ruclips.net/video/el7HUiTCkMk/видео.html&t

Such a great idea! These boots are awesome, I love monogrammed accessories.
Thanks for watching!
Can you do a boot toe? What hoop could you use to do that? Which fonts are best for monograms?
Great recommendation, we can certainly try and find out if we can do this! Thanks for watching
NO!!!
So epic!
Thanks!
I'd like to see the rotary hook used
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll make sure to show it in the next video
I would love to see you use the robot hoop on boots
Great suggestion!
I'd buy those boots! Great job
Glad you liked them, thanks for watching.
How did you get the hoop mark's out?
It’s a pressure indent which will naturally come out by itself. It’s not a hoop burn mark. I’ve done leather bags and boots, and after a few minutes it disappears.
They come out on there own as it's just pressure like Tiffany mentioned!
Those look amazing!
Thank you!
