    I love this video and that design, but got a bit hung up early on with the needles. Do you happen to have more info on the different types of needles and when to use them?

    • @SuaveCityGear
      @SuaveCityGear 2 года назад +1

      Yes you do need different needles, 80/12 or 90/14 for leather. 75/11 for most garments. Do your research on different types of fabrics with needles

      Hello! We have linked a video below where we go into depth about needles, and what fabrics to use with them.

    Very nice jacket ....and instructional video, I just have one question. How does the machine know what and where to put the correct color stitch to lay on the design?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 года назад +1

      You set your color stops in your digitizing software and then program your color sequence on the machine control panel

    How does it look inside with a large piece of cutaway? Wouldn’t tearaway stabiliser be better?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 года назад

      Tearaway is more for things that aren't worn, which is why we went with cutaway instead

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 года назад +1

      size 80/12 leather needle is a good choice when embroidering onto leather

    I have one of those frames and there is no way I would clamp a leather jacket in it. The sprung clamps are supper tight with thicker material and you could leave permanent markets on the leather. Try a magnetic frame instead.

      Yeah just change the bobbin if it runs out in the middle of the design

      We typically say to charge for your time rather than per stitch. Here is a great video that shows you how to do that > ruclips.net/video/PuF5hAdYlNo/видео.html

    Could you explain the $70 digitizing fee?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  Год назад

      Hi! The digitizing depends on how big the design is and how detailed it is!

  • @zitosonic
    @zitosonic 2 года назад +1

    What are the dimensions for this job?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 года назад +1

      Hi Zito! For this job we used our MT 7S 15-needle commercial embroidery. We also used the sash frame because of the jacket’s thickness. (Using a sash frame can help you spread the fabric and clamp it down to get it to hoop tightly and smoothly.) As for the backing, we used one sheet of 1.5 oz cut-away because the fabric is already thick enough to support all stitches. Additionally, we used a 75/11 needle.

      @@ricomatv I think she wanted to know the dimension of the design. What is the widest and highest you could use on the sash hoop?

  • @carlasjohnson514
    @carlasjohnson514 2 года назад

    What’s the hoop size

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 года назад

      We used a sash frame that can fit a design up to 21x40 inches. We used the sash frame because of the jacket’s thickness. (Using a sash frame can help you spread the fabric and clamp it down to get it to hoop tightly and smoothly.)
