Great content. One question: you use the “heat bond”facing the “shrink wrap”, that was the base on the hoop, and consequently, the last layer on the patch. Is this an efficient glue/tacky?
Very nice work!! Why not embroider everything directly on the hat? From the outside looking in, it seems more work was created and quality of hat was decreased by using the heat pressed patch that could potentially peel off over time.
Great question, and you’re absolutely right-embroidering directly on the hat can offer a cleaner and more durable finish. However, using heat-pressed patches can sometimes be the preferred method for certain designs, particularly when dealing with complex or highly detailed logos that might not embroider as well on curved surfaces. It can also allow for more flexibility in terms of design placement and color options. That said, for long-term durability and a premium feel, direct embroidery is often the best choice when feasible!
I have that same adhesive I can get the patches to adhere to my hats but they never stay on long do you think I need to bump up the temp and time when I press
Hi Emmanuel! Try to place the patches face down onto the flat heat press, place the Heat n Bond sheet over the patches and a Teflon sheet on top of the heat and bond sheet. Press at 310 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 seconds to fuse the heat and bond to the patches. Then, just peel the sheet from the patches. To attach the patches to the caps, insert a cap in the cap heat press, place a patch on the cap, put a Teflon sheet over the patch and press at 310 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds.
Dude bad ass patches great job pimp! Hats are nice!!!! They can put them on and be proud! Awesome job great, great, great. - Don't forget my name... Best Printable Print.
@@trinawidders3535 It's easier to hoop flats than caps, and you can do a lot of patches per time you hoop compared to having to hoop each individual hat. Hope that helps, embroidery is amazing but also tough!
@@swansonfinearts ok makes sense. So faster to load hats on the iq360 heat press vs embroidery hoops? Along with the cutting, prepping, adhesiving etc. Also, do you always need to have the twill to embroider as the background or can you just make the patches onto the tear away backing without the border if you are not going for that "patch" look yet still want the effiency like you're talking about above.

HI there, thanks so much for watching. The particular flag used in this video was not from Hoopmade; however there are similar designs available. Hope this helps!
Hi! Attaching patches to your cap using painter's 3mil plastic may not be the most effective method. Painter's plastic is typically not designed for long-term adhesion or durability.
I'll give it credit, the B&W hats look dope... But, from a military standpoint I have to begger the question, WHY does an FD need to be tactical/subdued? Are they sneaking up on the fire?
Embroidered patches are significantly cheaper and are the most cost-effective option versus direct embroidery. You will be able to reuse your embroidered patch elsewhere, whereas with direct embroidery does not allow you to do so.
This ass hat of an embroiderer should of just used the patch material as an applique embroidered directly to the cap with a satin edge border giving the appearance of a patch w/o wasting a bunch of time making a patch to attach to the cap as applique anyway. Unless this Dude was able to sell those caps for $35-$40 each (which he didn't) he made zero profit on this cap order..... Just Sayin'!!

I knew Willy could pull it off! That embroidery machine is awesome!!
A perfect pairing!
Willy always pulling it off! The design was perfect!

I thought that design was going to be difficult to digitize. But Willy pulled it off like a champ! They came out dope!!!
Thanks so much for watching. We love the result!
Nice work with the vintage logo. The video came out awesome and had very clear instructions to follow. Good Job Willy!
Thanks a bunch!
Wow these came out really nice!
Glad you like them!
awesome process
Thanks so much for watching. We're glad you enjoyed it!
These patches came out very clean! I think I prefer the heat press method to attach them.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. We're glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you! This is defiantly something I'm going to try.
Wonderful! Let us know how it goes :)
Can you go into detail about how you multiply the design on chroma and make sequence start with all tack down stitches?
Hi Jesse! Check this video out, hopefully it helps.

great video, I'm little confused about the wet rag can you please explain exactly what this does? thankyou!
Hi there, thanks so much for watching. This way, it acts like a steamer and doesn't leave any marks. Hope this helps!
Awesome job as usual! I was just curious why you used the heat shrink which seemed time consuming instead of an Ultra Solvy?

Hey. Really appreciate your videos. One thing about the wet rag tip. Did it work in your video? Is this how it should look like after pressing?

I'm curious why you chose to do the patches separately instead of doing them as appliqué right onto the hats? Thanks. Love your videos!
It’s more efficient to do the patches in bulk

And curious why not embroider onto the hat? Why the patch period?

I have a question. Why the shrink wrap?
Hi! The reason why we chose to use the shrink wrap is so the satin border can come out much cleaner.
Hello, greetings from Panama, what is the name of the gummed paper that I use to glue the caps?
Hi Roberto! We used heat bond paper, teflon sheets for the heat press and shrink wrap to embroider the patches.

So what does the wet cloth actually do?
Hi! This is a little trick we learned to reduce the crease on the cap.
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
Wouldn't using that painter's 3mil plastic work just as well?
Hi! Attaching patches to your cap using painter's 3mil plastic may not be the most effective method. Painter's plastic is typically not designed for long-term adhesion or durability.

We agree!
@14:30 what do you mean by cut one piece of it?
Hi! We only cut a small part of this so when we put it on the hoop, we want to be able to squeeze it in.
Wherw can I find the heat glue sheet please ?
Hi Bill! You can find them through Amazon or any crafting store.
Patch bond link doesn't bring up results.
Also how well does this bond? I bought a bonding a while ago but I feel it doesn't hold well.
