    All because of a stick...

    This is the best video on changing the drive belt. No one else shows to move the engine to clear the tabs. I did it on mine and it worked great so I didn’t bend any tabs or pulleys! Thanks again no one else knows that Trick but you !!!!

    Thanks for the video! My drive belt broke on my final mow of 2021 and I'm just now tearing into it. FYI, I think the belt you actually needed is 1/2" x 76" (MTD 954-0441), may explain why it was a little tight. Looks like it's working though! 👍👍

      Thanks for watching and the part number. It is still going strong. I flinch every time I drive over sticks now!

      I just picked one up and based on my model number it requires a 77 by 1\2 inch belt

    I’m afraid to look at the drive belt on my mower. I’m sure it is cracked like yours. I just don’t want to change it. Great video.

    Yup. about how I expected this belt to go. " had to beat this pulley" " then I unmounted the engined and moved the engine back " 😅 good times.

    Dammit. I was looking at mine, thought I don't want to screw with pulling pulleys cause that sucks. Well looks like my options are to fuck up my tabs or unholy my engine and slide it back...let me check online first hopefully someone has a better idea...nope looks like I'm moving the damn engine lol

    I think it was a mixture of stick and a older belt

    Not enough detailon drive belt routing

    • @D21403
      @D21403 Год назад +1

      Moving the engine is a lot easier than pulling that pulley off then route the belt the way it came off !!!!

    Man my belt is shredding. I do not want to move the engine & this is my first time changing a belt

  • @blackc6vette
    @blackc6vette Год назад +1

    Do you have to remove the gas tank to slide the engine back?

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  Год назад +1

      I did not have to. It was just the engine itself.

      @@ProjectNineOaks ok I’m going to try it again today. First time my tank was full of gas so I couldn’t slide it back. I siphoned my gas out so the tank is empty. Hopefully i can slide it back now

      @@ProjectNineOaks finally got the belt off & the new belt on. After I slid the motor back I had to wiggle the motor left & right to free the belt. Thanks for the video & the feedback!
