When I was watching this, I said "This is the best lion footage there is" . That was awesome. Thanks for sharing it. I've called in a fair number of lions but never get to see behavior like this. Being in Oregon, there's usually lead in the air long before they get a chance to slink away.
Looks like they hunt alone these cats, most likely they are the only one of their family alive too? Since its becoming easier and easier for human to lure them into the end
I used to live near a few, you could hear them all during mating season, they used to always come around/ through my yard, and when they did the only reason you knew they were around is because everything would go silent all at once, I walked out on my porch one night and flipped my lights on and one was right in the middle of my yard, It ran faster than anything ive seen and made absolutely no sound, it was so quiet you could hear a pen drop
The sound is a bird in distress. There are a number of different electronic call makers these days, that one looks like it could be Icotec, or perhaps a Foxpro & both those companies also offer the decoy as seen in this video. Cat sure did come in in a rush didn't it, way cool.
Incredible footage! I have only seen one mountain lion and a cougar when I was young. If this would have happened when I was calling a coyotes, I would have needed to change my shorts....AND no doubt my camera would have been either off or have low batteries...haha. What part of CA did you call this one in? Thanks for sharing!
Leo Carrillo State Park Campground in Malibu is also a big mountain lion place with camping at night bring a spotlight. The mountain lions like visiting the campsites.
What Beautiful animal and vid, the only thing thats sucks is there's a over population of them (whole West coast). I understand animal activist in protecting, but California needs to allow tags on them. To regulate the dangerous over population thought, thats all 🤷🏽♂️
@@Wade9170yes sir and pets, they should lift that ban for at least a year or two, see what amount they can get, yea they need to be regulated. Man and coyote is another one out of control too Lol
Yep, full of left loving loonies. Let one of these huggers try to pet that thing and see what happens lol. The next jogger or bicyclist coming by is that cats next meal.

How have some one not invented something like that, but to call in pedophiles aka human predators? I can imagine a little butt shaking like its stuck, while its screaming.. But we human are more complicated, it could actually been some one in real trouble and asked if they need help, or not Even ask, just grabbing the butt trying to pull the screaming thing out lol.. Edit " and then the cop comes, and your registred sex offender 🤭"
It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I would take it in a heartbeat! By the way, I understand they are really good to eat also! Nothing is wasted!
This makes me sad. It’s hard enough as it is for animals for survive in the diminishing wilderness. Now we waste their precious energy with fanciful distractions for our own pleasure. Why can’t we just admire them without having to manipulate and even kill?
@@wadedavis490 Is there anything you find fun that you would not do? (aside from things that are self-harming) And, if so, what is the reason you would not do them even though they would be fun?
Hard enough for animals to survive?? Before opening mouth and inserting foot do five minutes of research. These animals are flourishing to the point that things a getting dangerous for those who don't even live in forested areas. If their populations continue to rise they will start dying. Not from your fantasy scenario but from overpopulation. Now move along.
Hate them?? Well stay out of their habitat then. Do you have the right to blast away at everything you hate? Nothing wrong with legal hunting but it's people like you spouting crap for attention that gives hunters a bad name.
Devil Dog Man Yeah..... It's much more humane to let them overpopulate, and STARVE. It's also a great idea to let them overpopulate so they have to come into residential areas to feed on people's children, and pets. The Left are becoming dumber each year. So sad.

definitely some great footage.
That cat was way too smart for that trick!!!
He came running in and stayed for awhile 😂 he’s lucky he’s not on their wall

Thank you for not shooting. These animals are cute and look beautiful out in the wild.

that is the moment that the cat knows something ain't right💯
Cat is like what kind of devilish human freaking contraction is this

Beautiful
Lol he looked so disappointed
Calling in a new pair of pants
I called one in last year without a tag in hand had to let him walk

Awesome video! She came hauling in!!! What state?
This looks like a female and if so she is very pretty.
What a gorgeous wild cat! ❤

So confused...
I’ve never seen a lion come in full charge like that. Awesome footage. He’s really skinny, obviously starving for a meal. Hope he found a real one.
Clay Robert That cat is not at all skinny, ribs barely visible, no hips or spine pultruding. It's healthy and lean as they are supposed to be.
Therealdeal I'mwrongbut - You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Clay Robert Oh, ok, great point. Except you made none. Well none other than proving you have no idea what you are talking about.
Clay Robert If that is skinny, I'd hate to see what you think fat is. That is a healthy well-muscled cougar. Go buy some glasses.
He's licking his lips because he was duped and unsure of what he was called to.
The cat is not skinny, AT ALL.
So cute
Foodfoodfoodfoodfoo-- the HELL?!
what exact call sound were you using to bring this cat in ?
Too young to shoot here in CO. You can still see its spots.
How long did you call for? What call sound do you use? How do you know where to set up
Tree huggers shoulda killed it but it was “too beautiful “ or they were just too scared.
Lion tag in AZ is 15 bucks I wish I could get one like this.
What call is this ? I need one ...
It looks like a Foxpro with jack decoy

Yes, California has dropped the ball with regards to Lion Management and the rest of the wildlife is suffering because of it!

If that was in Texas, you could legally shoot the cat as long as you have a general hunting license!
Glad it's not Texas then..
