Amazing animals, they're so aware of their surroundings. I love how it Located you within seconds, then realized you could be a threat and ran for its life
That was more of a casual gallop, trust me when I say that when a cougar really runs, they just about vanish. A cougar that's really on the move is terrifyingly fast.
Glad to hear Eric say "viewing some spectacular animals", its nice to know some people still can look and not kill... I wonder though if the decoy would work even better if the rabbit was on its side wiggling like it was injured?
That is one smart cat. It knows that the fake wounded screaming rabbit is too good to be true so it looks over it's surroundings once again and spots the hunter.. Damned smart predator.
I've watched an enormous amount of hunting related footage and if that's not the best I've seen it very very close . Having tryied to capture that style of film I have a great appreciation for just how fantastic this upload is. Simply perfect. Congratulations
Hi Sparky, One word; Fantastic! I have spent tens of thousands of hours in the woods and never seen a Mountain Lion. You are so lucky. I wouldn't even have to kill it. I'd just love to see one. Thank you for that amazing footage.-Paul
+Alex Wiggs because he fucking can, it's the fucking internet and people can say whatever they damn well want and he was using it for comedic effect. People are starving to death or dying cold and alone on the streets, my brother. There are worse things.
+Trustthapo Just because a person can do a 'thing' doesn't mean they necessarily should. It cheapens them and make their opinions worthless. There is absolutely nothing funny or 'comedic' about foul language as it does nothing but reveal a flaw in a person's command of the English language and their character. I know this personally after struggling with ridding my vocabulary if it after 6 years in the US Navy, but I have. Now I don't need to validate my statements or opinions with cursing to feel like I have gotten my point across or to make me feel like more of a man. As far as people 'starving to death or dying cold and alone on the streets', are you seriously using that as an excuse to condone the use of foul language? If you are truly concerned about these people, do something about it rather than cheaply 'use' the issue to somehow get your point across. Volunteer in a soup line, donate food or money, help one of these unfortunate people because then you will truly begin to be a 'brother'. Lastly, in what context are you using the term 'brother'? I happen to be a follower and a believer in the Son of the living God Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and if you are using the term 'brother' in that context, you have a problem that needs to be dealt with. God's word says in James 1:26, "If you claim to be religious (faithful) but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion (faith) is worthless." Now, if you feel the need to abuse my eyes with anti-Christian rhetoric, let's just see if you are a 'brother' or you are just using that term in a general, secular manner. I truly pray that you don't disappoint me.....
it was thinking "okay, its not running away from me.... smells like humans, alright who does it belong to? alright where are they... oh.. shit! I was right!! there they are..... quickly... start to run.... NOW!"
I tell ya what, thats amazing and badass and great footage, but if i was calling for bobcats or coyotes and a damn cougar came out of nowhere that size and got that close to me id prooobably piss myself or id sure be thinking about it. Lmao one wrong move id pee down my leg a little and pull the trigger lmao im just kidding. Like i said, great amazing footage. And um, im glad i live in a place where bobcats are the biggest feral cat.
My first thought also. A friend of mine had one for a "pet" when I was a teenager, and I had a jaguarundi (looks like a miniature cougar) and an ocelot, and I spent a lot of time with all three cats. They are amazing felines.
Superb footage Sparky Sparkes. I'd absolutely love to call in a large cougar like that, and enjoy the unique face to face experience. Then I'd enjoy the excellent meat and cougar rug in my library.
Oooowee, that Cat would of been my food if it were only here and now...I have a Cougar Tag in my pocket as I type this...and I'm pretty sure with you callin it in so nice and close like that I would of made quick work of that beautiful and tasty creature! I hope you get your Bobcat...I have a tag for Bobcat and Lynx too...I just got to get lucky someday :D Absolutely awsome video! Thumbs up
Couger comes in..."Oh man I got some good dinner tonig..."wtf is this? Dude what are you doing up there and whyd you put this screaming bag down here? Whatever Im out"
It’s amazing how quickly it figured out it’s fake and immediately starts looking for the hunter. Then, bam, eye contact. (Whats with the NAMBLA song in the beginning)
That’s scary. He fuckin new some shit was up and looked right at you. It’s like he saw the rabbit and was like “this shit ain’t right” and went on high alert and picked you out of the background in milliseconds
Boy Sparky, can you imagine the comments some of these whiney little basement dwellers would be making if you had shot it? If some of these idiots would open their eyes, ears, and try to use a little brain power, you would hear that he NEVER had a license to LEGALLY harvest this cat, and would see that he allowed it to walk away. How much more ethical can a man be?
I've never hunted bobcat but I saw a special on the outdoor channel where someone ate beer battered bobcat? Is it good? I have 2 cats so I don't know if I could eat it haha
Great footage, thanks for sharing it. Some of commenters seem dense that the cougar/mountain lion population needs to be kept in check in certain areas of the world. Every US state does a great job of drawing for tags, season limits, etc. Keeping the numbers manageable so they don't eat too many pet dogs or precious loser house cats.
These animals are hard wired and hungry. "Indoctus41" thinks you should be calling in rats instead? lol That cougar makes a kill everother day or so. And sometimes it is a rancher or farmer's livestock, and then "Indoctus41" doesn't get his hamburger.
So this is solely about pest control, not mounting/bragging rights? If so i understand it. I have shot coyotes and ground hogs, but never to have them mounted. Only to protect my chickens and rabbits. I kill the ground hogs to keep holes from the fields and foundations.
i saw one when i took my cousin coyote hunting, he was just setting up the call when I thought I heard deer fighting, I looked to my right and he had kick rocks down the side of the mountain he was on. My grandpa is still pissed that I did not shoot it.
they way the cougar spotted you really cracked me up 😭😭😂,he was like "nope, not today"😂😭
Amazing animals, they're so aware of their surroundings. I love how it Located you within seconds, then realized you could be a threat and ran for its life

A cougar that's really on the move is terrifyingly fast.
If he wanted to kill that cougar he easily could’ve. It sat there giving him a headshot
That cougar was like "OH HELL NAAAAAAAAaoWaAaAaAaAaaaaah!"
2:10 the Cougar's like: "Nice try"
I love the moment cougar running away.
such a beautiful beast! amazed at it's intelligence, sight and hearing working together . magnificent!
it's probably thinking "DEMON RABBIT"
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for not killing it.
The cougar realized that something didn't quite seem right about the rabbit .. so he quickly left the scene.
Wow once and I lifetime experience good for you guys. That's a Healthy and pretty cat.
that is why i love big cats so much so cool to look at.
his heart froze when he saw you! then he got the hell out of there! love it
The cougar is the scout sniper of the wild
Great video. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for sparing his life to live another day.
Glad to hear Eric say "viewing some spectacular animals", its nice to know some people still can look and not kill... I wonder though if the decoy would work even better if the rabbit was on its side wiggling like it was injured?
Beautiful cat.
Great video and effective calling, thanks much, looks like I will be using that call for this coming up season.
That is one smart cat. It knows that the fake wounded screaming rabbit is too good to be true so it looks over it's surroundings once again and spots the hunter.. Damned smart predator.
Tim Smith at 5ft it figure it out
Well technically all cats investigate the area around a carcass to see if other predators are near.
Tim Smith soon as the cougar stood still, i would have shot it with my mosin

Cougar was like this shit is too good to be true someones fuckin with me. There he is, fucken humans i hate them i m outta here
+Adnan Kashogi Any reason your language is so offensive? Let your yes be a yes and your no be a no. Wise up man....

Nice video. Beautiful animal. Saw one on an elk hunt this year. Thanks for not using death metal music in the background.
That was amazing. I want to get one just to take photos of whatever comes in.
Great video! M2D Camo Up Close and Personal, just the way we like it!
Wonderful Eric-THe EDGE Team is thrilled!
damn, that's one big kitty!

Nice footage! That M2D works. (I wear it.)
Awesome!
Great video, thank you. I have had to hunt and clean a lot of meals to keep from starving. Circle of life.
That awesome I want that cat that big one nice job
Now THAT is a beautiful cat...smart, too .
Great video! THE reason I use remote placed predator calls and decoys. Hate to have that monster sneak up behind me....... :-)

Have you ever killed a cow, pig, horse, fish, bird, insect, human, sea creature, etc? Or do you only kill things that is not very much needed to kill?
1:55 That "What is this fake ass bullshit" look
thats cool
The “quiver critter” always works on cougars. 😂

Cougar - "Wtf........I just got trolled"
Now that is awesome. You dont start actually see movement till 28 seconds into the brush. His head almost shows up like a ghost.
Increíble enserio desde que salió el pulso se me altero uno de las animales que quiero casar saludos desde Cadereyta Nuevo León México
awesome animal!
Thank you for not shooting it. Awesome animals they are!
Great point, 03focus. With all the anti-gov talk recently, it is refreshing to see a conscientious hunter who respects game restrictions.
your talking like this is something new. poachers are the the very small minority. Not the norm.
What state was this?
That’s scary. He fuckin new some shit was up and looked right at you. It’s like he saw the rabbit and was like “this shit ain’t right” and went on high alert and picked you out of the background in milliseconds
It's amazing that you need a tag to hunt cougar in other states. I Texas we hunt them year round just to control them on my ranch.
i made a video like this but yours is way better well done!
damn......that's a big cat!
The Cougar was like "Hhhheeeeeyyyy.....F* U man that isn't funny"
Haha that's one smart kitty

That look...........damn...........
"So base an action" So scientists don't eat or drink or sleep then?
1:51 "Well, this is embarrassing..."
That's sick how the cougar knew something was fishy about the situation and dashed it
I've never hunted bobcat but I saw a special on the outdoor channel where someone ate beer battered bobcat? Is it good? I have 2 cats so I don't know if I could eat it haha
Gorgeous Tom, I'd love to tree something like that. Give him another 2-3 years and he'll be a monster.

C'est quoi l'affert qui bouge ?
You just trained that cat to recognize a DUMMY from a distance and up close by allowing yourself to be busted by it......
That cougar showed up like when Batman sneak up on the bad guys, out of nowhere.
What part of the country were you hunting - Washington, Idaho, Montana?
Is this in the black hills of South Dakota?
Wow! In my state a Furbearer stamp allows you to take any furbearer. If I was calling coyote, I'd take a cat if one showed up.
on my property there are 2 cougars. Take one of them, and I'll feed you to the other :)
Joe Pebworth u and that ugly kid can smell a fart to
Is that the Hare Bawl electronic call model or are you using a manual call with the Quiver Critter?
smart cat
Glad you didn't kill it
i saw one when i took my cousin coyote hunting, he was just setting up the call when I thought I heard deer fighting, I looked to my right and he had kick rocks down the side of the mountain he was on. My grandpa is still pissed that I did not shoot it.
That cat was beautiful I could never shoot something that awesome
how about the Asiatic lion in Gujarat India?
Lol they are out of control where I'm at ppl shoot em and leave em
yeah ikr when they bite your face of dont defend your self then to yay your going to be a big boy caillou
oh yeah one more thing if any war or something happens rest of the population will be wiped of earth
That cat would be even more beautiful hanging up on my wall!!
You are a good human for not killing this cat, thank you for not being like those other assholes on here shooting tigers for no reason
Fuck that thing is dangerously big
You can trick the eye's and the ears but not the nose.
1:51 you were spotted
LOL how it runs..
What are you waiting for? Now you lost it!!
what an amazing creature. deadly yes but amazing none the less
im a hunter as well , very nice video. and cat . dont shoot them . if they start to cause trouble have the nmr drug them and move them way up north.
Oh that kind of intelligence in an deadly animal really creeps me out. LOL. Serious! They can take down a 1/2 ton Elk!
