The second one ... Carl ... seems more like CGI than a real working model ... doesn't look right when the woman pressed the top of it after returning home ... and the kinematics when it jumps up the stairs and over the toy racoon look totally fake to me!!

I think it would be great in the future if we could obtain as much a realistic so robot to the point where we could mistake them for human. Where they talk to us, do tasks, and take in information and use it with a whole body to go with it. Like Sophia didn't register will handing her a glass.
But then I think we try so much to get them to look human to where they are creepy now. Maybe down the road they will look better but now they are kind of creepy. Maybe if we gave them a body and face but not human like wall-e, Rosie or something then we could associate better with them. Can we ever create a robot like the ones in I Robot?

Please make my robot look like Asimo, Romeo, Pepper, or similar...aka a robot with human qualities ;o) There is very little, if any, benefit to make them appear human (& it's creepy). People interact with robots that look like robots as they would a human... watch how fast a robot is referred to as him, he, or that guy... & how quickly interaction becomes enjoyable & normal!

I would have no problem interacting with an AI, no need for.
