Starting the 2001 BMW 5-series (3.0L inline 6) in cold winter weather. Approx. -20C or -5F. It didn't start very well but then suddenly fired up! #bmw #e39 #coldstart
What do you think happened? Did something freeze up? I'm having the same problem but in 28f weather. Once it warms up to about 40 outside it starts. Your thoughts?
wow i start mine 525i at -17.5 start's on the first try no problem
How long does it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days?
It starts up then quits. They on the 2nd try it is usually fine.

Check your battery or alternator. Anyway, I'm dreaming to be an owner of 530I lik you
Not the battery . Alternator or ignition switch
