Intense is not a word that pops in mind when I think sublime. Probably my favorite band, but I'd say charmingly dark with positive groove & deeply personal subject matter, woven into raygay punk rock blues jazz with a crisp emotional delivery. 🤔 yeah maybe Intense. Alright I figured it out after all. Yeah you were probably right now I lay out the statement in terms of visual observation.
The irony is that only the music has good vibes. If you listen to the words, Bradley was in hell and knew his time was up. Hell even this song is a cry for help. Those lovely melodies are hiding a world of addiction, depression, shame, doom, and dread. RIP brother
Sublime does not get nearly the credit they deserve. Everything still sounds fresh. They will stand the test of time. This is my favorite song of theirs, this then STP.
I believe Shannon Hoon died from a cocaine overdose. Granted he had issues with heroin prior....and about every other drug on Earth. Hoon is buried about 3 miles from my house.
That grind on the strings at the beginning of the guitar solo… and then right after he closes his eyes when he goes back into the verse…. He was truly just feeling it. Gets me so stoked every time i hear it.
i love sublime. literally listen to them all day every day. when im working, driving, or sleeping bradleys vocals are always putting me at ease, erics bass is keeping me in focus, and buds drums are making me pumped up to live. i love sublime. rest in peace Bradley Nowell.
