“Ain’t got no quarrels with God. Ain’t got no time to get old. Lord knows I’m weak, won’t somebody get me off of this reef.” Deep, dark lyrics to a very chill melody.
Life isn't supposed to be light at all times and I think that's the point. The poet finds beauty even in the darker places and transform them into light, music and magic. After all, what was the point to laugh if it wasn't for the tears?

Any of you just discovering this song today - you are lucky to hear it for the first time. Been obsessed with this song for over 25 years. It still gets me.
I had the privilege of being born and raised on the island where this video was filmed, this was shot on a beach called Little Shark, on the West end of Santa Catalina Island. I can remember them over at the pad where my best friend Brendan and I would be hanging out at. Good times. Great band. Legends never die. -Sublime.
Funny how every generation says the decade they spent their teens and early 20s in was the best decade. Can't imagine why, maybe it's due to nostalgia and that period of your life being monumental to the person you later become.
When you realize this song is about his struggle with heroin. RIP. When you were young you didn't realize how deep this song was. Badfish by Sublime and Under The Bridge by RHCP would always define how my life was/is. Constant struggle but you can overcome it. To those who are still struggling to overcome their opiate illness, there is a brighter side take it from a guy whose been shot five times, stabbed twice and have a terminal illness. Was on and off opiate for majority of my teens and twenties. Currently thirty, sober for year and six months.
A lot of hippies loved them when I was young but criticize those of us that got caught in the struggle... kinda ironic. I also didn't appreciate them until after my struggles with substance abuse
Thats great buddy good to hear. Yeah, I dont remember most of my childhood/teenage years. Full of abuse and trauma and substance abuse. Im 19 now. I never knew what it meant to be happy, but Im finding it now. I hope you did too
Just coming around to Sublime all over again and I am in awe of Brad’s creation. Such an iconic band and sound. And he played a killer guitar. Beautiful songs.
No kidding eh? All the huge fuss people still make over Kurt Cobain... I dunno, he had an absolutely killer, unique voice but was Kurt Cobain really all that talented? I don't think he was. Incredible singer but overall, musically, I just don't think he had a helluva lot going on. Bradley was TALENTED. R.I.P. to both of 'em.
everytime i listen to this song i start crying and thinking about my dad. he died of a methadone overdose when i was 6. he wouldve been 40 years old today. happy birthday old man
I love this song. Its in my heart. I was scrolling down the comments nd found yours. It made me feel different bout this song . Hey stay strong, live your life with a thrill . I hope your doing good . Years to come . Good ones to.
Happy late birthday to your daddy 💞. Every time I listen to this I cry as well, someone super close to me committed suicide unexpectedly a few years ago when we were 16. it’s been 4 years and it really never gets easier. I just wanted you to know that you aren’t grieving alone
I’m currently doing the same thing, i lost my dad a few months ago due to alcohol addiction and sublime was one of his favorites so they’re my comfort band,, we’re strong, we’ll get through this
I’m from the hood so all I listen is rap. Until my aunt put this cd on while we were driving from the bay area to Portland. I was pretty high at the time on a edible and I swear it was like a religious experience. The passion and hurt in his voice the blend between hip hop/ reggae/ and rock was a trip. Hooked every since
@@captaininsano2741 Yeah, I’d assume the majority of fans either used to or (still) do smoke marijuana cigarettes, but if not? That’s cool, too. I agree that getting stoned with Sublime as the soundtrack is HIGHly recommended
***** How could someone have "missed out" on them, there videos, interviews are everywhere. I just discovered Slightly Stoopid who has been around for years, I do not feel I missed anything.
Pepper is the closest to Sublime I've come to know. The singer sounds frighteningly similar to Bradley and the music is good. SS doesn't have the same punk style reggae that Sublime had.
His guitar solo haunts me every time. I just listen to it over and over. I’ve listened to sublime for over 20 years and this will always be my favorite song.
Dude. I played this song today after years and tears uncontrollably started to pour. I think it reminds me of an amazing time that is long gone. I will be listening to this on repeat today.
I got a love hate relationship with sublime. First of all, they are my favorite band. Ever since I first heard them on the radio back in '97 thats been the case. But it is the only band that I have ever bought an album for that I couldn't go see in concert. And it makes me mad that Brad overdosed because they would have had a tremendous career and most of the fans were never able to see them live. Thank god for RUclips and all the wonderful people who have uploaded live performances with Brad, it means a lot to other true sublime fans.
i totally agree with you. man this is the one band I am so mad I never got to see either, 97 was a good year, middle school, listening to L.A.'s radio station K-ROQ some of the best music of my youth! R.I.P. Bradley.
That is awesome to here ***** I'm sure you will get an "A"..... it feels great to be able to reminisce about how great musicians have left great music behind to connect us all.
My dad passed two days ago and he wasn’t the greatest dad, we’d meet up, get drunk and sing Sublime and prince. I miss him so much and have been listening to Sublime non stop. Dad, I miss you so fucking much.
Just so you know, your dad is the greatest to you, sometimes its very difficult for a person to become a real parent, in their heart they try and try to just keep failing and failing, its gets hard to bounce back. But dont just chalk it up as "he wasnt the greatest dad" lots of variables there. You must of meant something to him to stop by a kick it, doesnt sound like much but maybe it was the hardest for him, im sure he wanted to be with you ever chance he could but was disappointed in himself. Its weird how people do things in life sometimes. Im sure he was a good man that loved you. life is never black and white so always read between the lines to find what ur looking. God bless Cactus Head.😏👊
My mom saw them in concert when she was 14, and she started crying when I brought home a 40 oz of Freedom CD and turned this song on. I'm 14 too, and she says it's crazy how much we're alike.
I'm 42 and I cut my teeth on this stuff. I've been a Chili Pepper fan, major, since I was your age, and now my 9 yr old son loves them just like I did then. It's a beautiful circle that only music can complete. Tell your mama she has good taste in music, just like her baby!
SoCal legends. Brad and the crew associated and grew up with the Mexicans that's why Brad knew how to chew spanish very well. Half of their fan base here in SoCal are Mexican American. Thank you Brad for the immortal legacy you left written in stone.can't forget Bud ,Eric and Louie Dog. SoCal All Day Everyday!
For me it's the first lines: "When you grab ahold of me... tell me that I'll never be set free..." and then the "Lord knows I'm weak..." A punch right in the gut, man.
Take me back Lord! Back to 90’s. No crybabies. No social media. Being outside. Blunts, 40’s and bitches. Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke I couldn’t picture this. Video game rentals, sleepovers with the homies in the backyard in tents without having to say “pause” extension cords to hook up ps1 Rival Schools, Tekken and Power Stone on Dreamcast in the tents. Costco pizza, one side cheese, one side pepperoni. Walkman’s and CD players so we all knew the same songs and didn’t have to sort thru billions of artists that sound the same. Back when weed was illegal and kept you high all day off one spliff in the morning. Back when we all listened to Rap, Rock and Metal. When Simpson’s was actually good. Wasting quarters on big kids who beat you at Mortal Kombant 1 in the arcades. Back Lord. Back…
Brother you may never see this and if you know that i to long for simpler days. I keep thinking how good we had it. Smh...friends lost, the countless moments lost to time. Just being alive back then is truly unexplainable. They say ignorance is bliss but the knowledge of the difference is a curse

I just wanted to let you guys know this song means so much to me. The first time I was introduced to this band, was by a friend that wouldn’t give me a ride to high school unless I knew every word to this album.. and this song always stuck to me like glue. God bless Bradley.
That's a Friend with a capital F. To have someone so wise and so young at such an important time must have been a huge blessing. My sister turned me onto Sublime when I was a pre-teen and she was in high school, and it legit helped me find kindred souls because they were still quite new and unknown in those days (early early 90s) and anyone who knew or liked them could basically be trusted and vibed with to the highest degree.
“Ain’t got no money to spend I hope the night will never end”. That’s what being a bad fish is all about. Never enough. I loved this song my whole life it wasn’t until I was half way through my 30s until I truly understood what it meant and who I am. There’s a generation of dudes out there that were transformed by this music.
I’m an older seasoned rocker and came across Sublime only within the last year and I love their music,, especially this song RIP Bradley you were gone way to soon🙏🏼.
RIP sweet Piscean Bradley. We were born on the same day Feb 22nd. Can't even tell you how many times I've listened to this song and every time I do again it all makes more sense. Thank you and your band for enriching my life and countless others, I presume. RIP Beautiful Man. 💛
Sublime comforted me through my struggle with depression. The nights where I was alone with just my thoughts were terrifying, at least Bradley singing about his sorrows made me feel a little less alone. Love you Bradley
I love these guys. They played a big part in me surviving my divorce and being a single dad raising two daughters who turned out awesome. Music soothes the soul. I miss you Bradley.
What a masterpiece, song and video. Can’t imagine what Brad would’ve done had he lived. Their music is all over the place, probably the most masterful debut album of any bad.
the bassist is so awesome, actually who ever master mixed this and placed the bass as a solid fixture is awesome. 100DB shakes my house and probably the neighbors houses.
heck I don't complain when they throw parties and block my driveway with all their guests vehicles. I let them have their fun, and sometimes they let me have my fun. Cops have been called so many times for noise complaints and been cited for noise pollution. Eh an 80 dollar ticket is worth it.
Excuse me I have never looked up those bassists - I have been playing the bass since I was 9 years old when my uncle gave me my first instrument. I also play other instruments now and own the largest studio in this state. But if there is somebody I should listen to, I should at least make a search.
Brad was from California, i was so happy to get a sublime t-shirt in texas. I went back to seattle and my t-shirt was stolen. We all loved Bradley forever and a day❤
There was a time when I was jamming out to Sublime and never thought id possibly live to see today. I listen to these tunes now and take pity on that kid. We gotta keep on keeping on for all the homies whos light we carry in our hearts.
Mannnn I listened to sublime when all my siblings traveled to the next world. Kept me alive this long. Still going bro. Everyone else thinks otherwise of this song but music is life bro.
Uff Men, this is just a Masterpiece, love every lyrics of this guys. the style the music just lovin' it. Glad people still listening to this in 2019 and beyond!! Greetings and much love and respect from Tijuana, Mexico.
Random but douchebag was trying to shove his paranoia down my throat about America's involvement w/ "Tijuana" (Taiwan) & 🤦🏻♀️ how the f is this "bad ass" gonna confuse Tijuana w/ Taiwan. No where near each other, not even the same race, barely anything alike. Now a days I dont even wanna hear his damn mouth. Fn whale and sh. Thats some biblical ish right there 👍. Proof that end of times r indeed near. Gonna dwell on my misery now and obsess over it till my last dying day. Starting from now. Gonna get in the spirit and wear all black now
People are forgetting this stuff. 90s was a great decade musically. Most people have grown out of it and the younger kids weren’t even alive. Don’t know if we will ever have music like this again.
Nobody ever replies when I say this, but if you want music like this again, YOU HAVE TO WRITE IT, KIDS. You don't just "have" music because it's a certain decade! People WRITE it!
@@matthewreimers2732 If you're 15 then you're well on your way to discovering some great stuff! Just don't be one of those 15 (or whatever) year olds that says things like "I wish we still made music like this." You have to write it.
"I swim, but I wish I never learned, the water is too polluted with germs." Might be my favorite line out of any song ever. It shows the pain Bradley was going through at the time. I think many others feel the same way. Such a powerful line, that I believe is overlooked quite often. It demonstrates the battle we all have with the corrupt and evil individuals/events in society (regardless of political party, left and right, regardless of socioeconomic status). The battle of of love and hate. It sometimes can be tough and even unbearable to manage the fact that there are people out there that will take advantage of you, and that will play friends on the front, but are just waiting for the right moment to stab you in the back. Sublime is my favorite band of all time. I have seen this from experience, and just a PSA to anyone who may feel like Bradley, who may struggling to handle all the hatred that is brewing in society, there is at least one person who cares about you and wants to see you thrive and grow and be happy. This guy right here! Rock on Sublime fans! You are loved!
"ain't got no time to grow old" This is a beautifully sad song, and I love the good vs evil in the lyrics. I lost my son to drugs and depression almost 3 years ago. He turned me onto sublime. 💔
I mean maybe thats a subtheme but he was talking about heroin addiction going with the theme of being stranded on the reef and swimming being a euphemism for heroin use. A "badfish" is someone who exposes someone else to heroin for the first time. As for too polluted with germs hes probably talking about yea "swimming" feels great and has its perks. But take a closer look and its a ditty grimy awful way of life and disease. And thats just a small part of it. Many meanings yeah. But this song is entirely about heroin lmao just like heart shaped box by nirvana or under the bridge by RHCP and so many other bands this song is even more blatant for the censors they changed somebody get me off of this tweak to off of this reef for this version.
What kind of music did Sublime make? Reggae? Ska? Punk rock? Alternative? No. While they may have incorporated these styles into their music, the truth is, the heart of Sublime's music is the blues. They were a blues band with a ska/punk/reggae/surf veneer. The passion, the SOUL of the music is so powerful. Just as they were about to break it big, an incredibly talented and soulful artist lost his life. Rest in peace, Bradley. Your music made the world a better place.
Sublime certainly nailed the 90's for all of us. My oldest son Jesse od'd on fentanyl. When I need to be with him, this is one of the bands we both loved.. ..
One of my best friends died almost 3 years ago from a fentanyl overdose. He would be 21 years old today. This was our favourite song. Brings back memories of me and him sitting near the creek together smoking weed and listening to this. I miss you so much Jake, bumping this tune for you tonight! Fly high and happy birthday ❤️
Man, I wish Brad was still around. He made such great music. Rest In Peace. I actually have a Sublime skateboard dedicated to Brad and it will be a wall hanger for life
This is one of those songs that reminds me everything is ok in the world. It reminds me of better times yet to come. Simultaneously tears are running into my smile.
I lost my Son Brad 18 years ago but this song brings back all of those memories I am still sitting here next to my wife we miss him so much. Love you Brad
Well, I'll never get to meet Bradley, but I found out about the band Badfish a month ago when they played a show in my village lol. They put on an amazing show, and respected Bradley and sublime all through it. He would have been so proud. The love of sublime that came through everyone was absolutely amazing. Was legit the best concert I've been too
Here in SoCal it doesn't matter if you're Black, Native, White, Mexican, Tongan, Filipino, Honduran, Cambodian, Guadalajara, Samoan, indonesian or anything else, if you're from here you know, love and respect this band.
This was before his heroin addiction, this song is about his alcohol use and just nonstop partying. Sublime was always where the party was and the band members were usually well on their way to being drunk by noon everyday
g1nek17 same man it's so simple but yet so effective that just goes to show you even the simplest things can really make you feel alive that's why I don't let money or bills or anything like that effect me because that's shit that you gotta just pay it's the part of living I ain't got no time to let shit drag me down I'm only going straight no matter if it takes me all my life I'm gonna get to my happy place
The best band of all-time. Prove me otherwise! Their music combines rock, heavy metal, rap, punk, alternative, Ska, even horns too. No other band that I'm aware combines this many genres of music. They are the most underated band period. They deserve so many more accolades
Bradley Nowell wrote this song before he ever tried heroin. So, all the people saying it's about heroin are wrong. It is about drugs, but not heroin. Marijuana is probably the biggest influence of this song. "Grab the reef underneath my bed." This song was first on the 1991 Jah Won't Pay the Bills demo tape, so it was way before Bradley ever tried heroin. He really didn't get into it until around 1992-1993. And a Badfish? It's just someone who does things that are considered immoral or wrong by society's standards, like drugs and booze to an extreme.
This was my mom's favorite song. Today's her birthday and this year would make 9 years since she's been gone. I love you momma, happy birthday. I hope you're set free from the struggles of this horrible world.
My mom actually got to party with Brad and the whole gang (including Lou Dog) a couple months before he died. She was devastated when he died, I think we all were. She is so grateful that she got to hang out with him before he passed. R.I.P Bradley
Beyond thankful I grew up listening to Sublime. My first stick and poke tattoos, many moons ago, were fashioned after the Sublime logo. I’m 44 and still dance around my porch and drink Coronas to this, almost daily. Can’t wait to rock my grandchildren, that don’t exist yet, to sleep to this soft wavy beat.
My brother had to do an oral presentation in one of his classes about his favorite band. He decided on Sublime, and he wanted to play one of their songs in the background while he talked about their history and how they started and all that. He had a hard time picking a song that was "school appropriate" without any cussing in it. Badfiish was the one he was able to find!
It was 1996, I had heard this and What I Got on the radio a few times and it immediately blew my mind, never heard anything like it, but always missed the DJ saying who the band was. I finally caught the name, Sublime, and immediately went out and bought the self titled album. Two days later in school, the new kid from Cali was wearing a Sublime shirt so I started talking to him telling him I just found out about Sublime and I loved them, to which he replied 'yeah, theyre fantastic, too bad the singer just died'. I was totally floored, and angry and in disbelief, and to this day if I could bring anyone back, it'd be Bradley, I almost cant even listen to their music these days, just makes me sad thinking of everything we missed...what a loss...
Woke ya ass up like to something personal or what I think is the greatest awakening of truth. The reason for everything. How the Govts/System of our "West" have been owned for centuries. Rothschild with EU banks in 1710 and Rockefeller in the US with Standard-Oil in 1867. Then they united powers for a grand agenda after 1913 - Fed-Reserve. They've used social-engineering through unlimited wealth, supreme power, and control. Enjoy the days (Happy Easter today 2017-4-16).
DevastatER93 this song is about someone introducing or using heroin or any hard drug..what are u talking about haha this has nothing to do with the gov/elites bro haha
I grew up in so cal listening to them all the time. I recently moved out of state and this song takes me back to those easy days chillin at the beach with friends. agh I hate growing up
This will always be my fav Sublime song... Reminds me of partying in High school back in like 2004 and after being in crazy madness and having fun walking home at like 3 AM drunk with a few homies and girls.... What a marvelous time and a great song reminding me of my youth.
Bradley had no time to get old. We still miss his talent. Eric's still with us though! His bass playing is the 'meat' behind Sublime's best sounding stuff, like this one!
Love Sublime!!!! Never ever will get old. Reminds me of summer and being on the boat. I just love Sublime and will continue to listen to it cause it makes me happy. 🥰
Just came here to read all of the self loathing comments lmao. I used to go to the backyard keg parties and watch them live in the early 90's. And you know what? I spent most of the time not watching them play, but rather hooking up with chicks and catching a buzz lmao. Good stuff

Life isn't supposed to be light at all times and I think that's the point. The poet finds beauty even in the darker places and transform them into light, music and magic. After all, what was the point to laugh if it wasn't for the tears?
I wouldn't say it's necessarily dark but it is morbid. I think it depends on your own interpretation of mortality

Legends never die.
Yes you got it, sweet friend 😊
That's what music is there for.
I met Bradley Noel's mom once....she's a nurse in OC...gave me the just say no speech...told me about her son. Bradley. blew my fuckin mind, bro. if ur out there, nurse nowell, I been off the junk for almost five years, now. love u!
Nowell not noel lol

Stephen Farris fuck yeah dude u don't need that stuff. Rip Brad
Keep going strong.. great story
Stephen Farris congrats bruh. I still struggle with the big bad boy
Any of you just discovering this song today - you are lucky to hear it for the first time.
Been obsessed with this song for over 25 years. It still gets me.
Wow
Same. I remember having the tape and rewinding it to hear this song again and again.
This hits different when you live in Southern California and got the beach close by 🙏
Hearing it for the first time 🥲 I'm sad it took me til now to discover it
28 years and I still come to Brad and this song, often, for comfort and reflection. ❤ R.I.P Bradley. Thank you for being there for all of us!
I had the privilege of being born and raised on the island where this video was filmed, this was shot on a beach called Little Shark, on the West end of Santa Catalina Island. I can remember them over at the pad where my best friend Brendan and I would be hanging out at. Good times. Great band. Legends never die. -Sublime.
dude that's so cool
that's awesome!
never die!!!! I'm old...when Bradley died....I cried
Andrew Sampson that is awesome bro
Orale!!!!!!! AChi!
that 90's feel, so innocent like stomach butterflies. Wish I could relive it again, but then I'm asking for too much because it was heaven.
Wish i felt that way about it. Those years were fun sometimes but pretty jacked too.
greenclydefrog 90s were probably the greatest decade
wtf are you kidding me, the 90's sucked ass. I was in my 20's in the 90's.
I wish I could live the 90's I would give anything
I hope your still staying strong. People really hurt when your gone
A lot of hippies loved them when I was young but criticize those of us that got caught in the struggle... kinda ironic. I also didn't appreciate them until after my struggles with substance abuse
We need more people like you man! Stay Strong King.
Do it for Johnny .
R.I.P. to both of 'em.
everytime i listen to this song i start crying and thinking about my dad. he died of a methadone overdose when i was 6. he wouldve been 40 years old today. happy birthday old man
❤️
I believe in you,,, ,! Lost my dad a few years ago similar issues..ill be your friend here is my number 628 3331847
Hooked every since
I have a similar experience from my uncle I'm from the 408 haha
This song will always hit different when you are high.
Sounds like you're a bad fish too
Good Stuff Man I Love Hearing Stories Like That I Am Very Passionate About Music and Love To Hear How People Have Come To Like a Certain Song!! 🙂
its reggae punk /:
You don't have to be a stoner to appreciate sublime, but I sure am.
This made me lol love to you and thanks brother or sister!
I fucking love sublime, and I’m not a stoner
@@TayNez63 exactly you dont have to be one bro
Yeah but it helps
@@captaininsano2741 Yeah, I’d assume the majority of fans either used to or (still) do smoke marijuana cigarettes, but if not? That’s cool, too. I agree that getting stoned with Sublime as the soundtrack is HIGHly recommended
My father passed away a few years ago. This was his favorite song. I love and miss him so much. R.I.P. Dad
This song is a time warp for me. Back when I was a teen. Carefree. Warm summers. Puts a smile on my face.
Nothing like those ballpark franks in the summer!
As the saying goes youth is wasted on the young.....lol....by the time we appreciate those years all we can do is look back fondly on our memories.
@@mackeydirk8643So very well-written! I so agree❤
there will never be another Sublime one of a kind
***** How could someone have "missed out" on them, there videos, interviews are everywhere. I just discovered Slightly Stoopid who has been around for years, I do not feel I missed anything.
Slightly stoopid is a great band, remind me of sublime. I wish more people knew of them
***** Fair Ball!
Pepper is the closest to Sublime I've come to know. The singer sounds frighteningly similar to Bradley and the music is good. SS doesn't have the same punk style reggae that Sublime had.
True
His guitar solo haunts me every time. I just listen to it over and over. I’ve listened to sublime for over 20 years and this will always be my favorite song.
Dude. I played this song today after years and tears uncontrollably started to pour. I think it reminds me of an amazing time that is long gone. I will be listening to this on repeat today.
Yep!
R.I.P. Bradley.
My thoughts EXACTLY!!

My dad passed two days ago and he wasn’t the greatest dad, we’d meet up, get drunk and sing Sublime and prince. I miss him so much and have been listening to Sublime non stop.
Dad, I miss you so fucking much.
I'm sorry for your loss
@@angiewitt3324 thank you. I honestly really appreciate it.❤️
Just so you know, your dad is the greatest to you, sometimes its very difficult for a person to become a real parent, in their heart they try and try to just keep failing and failing, its gets hard to bounce back. God bless Cactus Head.😏👊

much love bro
My mom saw them in concert when she was 14, and she started crying when I brought home a 40 oz of Freedom CD and turned this song on. I'm 14 too, and she says it's crazy how much we're alike.
I saw them when i was 16, best concert still my favorite
I'm 42 and I cut my teeth on this stuff. I've been a Chili Pepper fan, major, since I was your age, and now my 9 yr old son loves them just like I did then. It's a beautiful circle that only music can complete. Tell your mama she has good taste in music, just like her baby!
Damn I wish my mom was that cool lol
Ya got good taste kid

Even being born in 1990, this band was such a huge part of my highschool experience. If you never had a Sublime phase, have you even lived?

"Aint got no time to get old" gets me every time.
For me it's the first lines: "When you grab ahold of me... tell me that I'll never be set free..." and then the "Lord knows I'm weak..."
A punch right in the gut, man.

Man this song has been with me through some dark times! Long Live Sublime man!
Wow! I really enjoyed reading your comment! You literally had me go down a most excellent Memory Lane with you throughout a chapter in your life, that no doubt, was splendid nostalgia for you during that time! Made me smile for you. Thank-you, and always keep your special memories forever in your soul.

This group was decent.love
"Friends don't let friends ride with bad music"
damn that hit me hard cause i would do that. much love
Me too & George Washington
"Ain't got no time to get old."
Heartbreak
Amen on that 🙏
Sublime comforted me through my struggle with depression.
100DB shakes my house and probably the neighbors houses.
im luck i aint your neighbour, your unpolite fuck
heck I don't complain when they throw parties and block my driveway with all their guests vehicles. I let them have their fun, and sometimes they let me have my fun. Cops have been called so many times for noise complaints and been cited for noise pollution. Eh an 80 dollar ticket is worth it.
nope I have't.
*****
Excuse me I have never looked up those bassists - I have been playing the bass since I was 9 years old when my uncle gave me my first instrument. I also play other instruments now and own the largest studio in this state. But if there is somebody I should listen to, I should at least make a search.
If this song does not touch your soul, it's because you don't have one.
Burning one to this classic, bless up everyone RIP Brad and Lou Dog 🙏🏽♥️
This absolultey needs to be on the GTA6 radio stations.
Was sent to inpatient rehab twice within 2 years. Someone in my rehab showed me sublime and now I listen everyday. Thank you.
I need to get a poster of Bradley and Lou Dog sitting on that rock.
Wondrous Octillionaire lol
Right!!!
Why though?
John Doe pay attention to the lyrics
Word, the view is dope
Gonna get in the spirit and wear all black now
It’s obvious that this type of music will never get played out
That's right, my friend. This is such a deeply moving song on so many levels ❤
People are forgetting this stuff. 90s was a great decade musically. Most people have grown out of it and the younger kids weren’t even alive. Don’t know if we will ever have music like this again.
I’m 15 and this is the best song to exist and it’s even better when I’m baked as fuck
Nobody ever replies when I say this, but if you want music like this again,
YOU HAVE TO WRITE IT, KIDS.
You don't just "have" music because it's a certain decade! People WRITE it!
@@matthewreimers2732 If you're 15 then you're well on your way to discovering some great stuff! Just don't be one of those 15 (or whatever) year olds that says things like "I wish we still made music like this."
You have to write it.
Much love Mike!
Thanks bro, best YT comment out there, same to you.
"ain't got no time to grow old"
This is a beautifully sad song, and I love the good vs evil in the lyrics.

Rock, heavy metal, rap, punk, ska and reggae. Most eclectic band in music history. I love em
I agree.
Could not agree more. And nothing left unsaid
Well said!!!! ❤
Ska, with a side of blues.
"Ain't got no quarrels with God, Ain't got no time to get old, Lord knows I'm weak, won't somebody get me off of this reef" what a cry for help...
It really is. To me so relatable. Been struggling with that boy since 1982. It's exactly how it feels.
"When you grab a hold of me
Tell me that ill never be set free".
It resonates so deeply in me this line.
Sublime certainly nailed the 90's for all of us. My oldest son Jesse od'd on fentanyl. When I need to be with him, this is one of the bands we both loved.. ..
My daughters daddys favorite song. He passed away in September at 42 years old. Listening to this song makes me cry now.
One of my best friends died almost 3 years ago from a fentanyl overdose. He would be 21 years old today. This was our favourite song. Bradley had a very sophisticated understanding about music and how to express yourself with music.
Reggae is my foundation, but Sublime has something that i don't know how to explain. I chill everytime. This song is fire!
They have some reggae songs. Sublime was definitely inspired by reggae
Yeah .
That and it's litteraly a song about hunting for heroin and vomiting when you can't find any lol
@casper_skitzo420 Your definitely correct. For me it's more of a time and place song.
Oh Brad, ain't got no time to get old.....RIP man. We miss you terribly.

Well, I'll never get to meet Bradley, but I found out about the band Badfish a month ago when they played a show in my village lol. They put on an amazing show, and respected Bradley and sublime all through it. He would have been so proud. The love of sublime that came through everyone was absolutely amazing. Was legit the best concert I've been too

if you are the city of Guadalajara, we respect you lmao
This was before his heroin addiction, this song is about his alcohol use and just nonstop partying. Sublime was always where the party was and the band members were usually well on their way to being drunk by noon everyday

g1nek17 hell ya !
It is awsome it reminds me of being underwater herring it amazing
Amen to that!
However, I'm sure this song took on new meaning for Bradley once he became involved w/heroin.
deepcreep98 Of course it did. ;)

Man. His vocals. His lyrics. They make me so happy. I have such an understanding for them. It almost makes me feel like I knew him. I wish I knew him.
This takes me back to my teenage years. What a time.
Indeed!! Where has the time gone??
He's was so fine what a shame damn
Love sublime in the 90's Good times indeed!!
Seeing as Bradley was such a people person I wouldn't doubt it. Your mom is one lucky chick.
What did she have to do to get that kind of access
Pure luck I guess, she hung around after everyone left and I guess the band didn't leave yet either. So they went back to their hotel and hung out.
Ryan Jane Murphy yup
Ryan Jane she tells you it was "pure luck" hahah
Beyond thankful I grew up listening to Sublime. My first stick and poke tattoos, many moons ago, were fashioned after the Sublime logo. I’m 44 and still dance around my porch and drink Coronas to this, almost daily. Can’t wait to rock my grandchildren, that don’t exist yet, to sleep to this soft wavy beat.
A needle, string and a jar of ink. Good times.
Funny since its abt bradley suffering from his drug addiction
@@billgrady2402 i was thinking the same
I'm 43 now and listened to this song 317,211 times...
But I still wonder if Todd ever turned the radio back on...
1 of the greatest of all time songs, the GOAT of music, SUBLIME!
their music has helped me feel happy through so many rough moments!! bradley was a huge lost, may he rest in peace
His voice is just so soulful! Absolutely perfect
I was totally floored, and angry and in disbelief, and to this day if I could bring anyone back, it'd be Bradley, I almost cant even listen to their music these days, just makes me sad thinking of everything we missed...what a loss...
my dad owned every single sublime song on cd. These songs are my childhood. RIP dad❤️
I can't describe how this song changed my life... I'm not even gonna try to explain it, but this song helped wake my ass up
pls share
I hear u
Woke ya ass up like to something personal or what I think is the greatest awakening of truth. The reason for everything. How the Govts/System of our "West" have been owned for centuries. Rothschild with EU banks in 1710 and Rockefeller in the US with Standard-Oil in 1867. Then they united powers for a grand agenda after 1913 - Fed-Reserve. They've used social-engineering through unlimited wealth, supreme power, and control. Enjoy the days (Happy Easter today 2017-4-16).

That intro with the bottle clink takes me right back to my young adulthood years in north San Diego county. Beautiful song.

I grew up in so cal listening to them all the time. I recently moved out of state and this song takes me back to those easy days chillin at the beach with friends. agh I hate growing up
struggling with my crack problems a lot . and this song is saving me . thank you bradley
I'm piss drunk on the floor listing to sublime. Wow. Such a influence in my new chapter in life. Thank you
living in the 90's as this music was ground breaking was awesome. thank God I saw the scene and lived through it
Love Sublime!!!!
Good stuff
I'm covered in tattoos and Sublime's is the one that's too sacred to me to actually get. Life's a trip
