David's dancing was an outward expression of praising the Lord,it was done in the right context, dancing for the Lord in the right context is not wrong at all but one should not do so in a disruptive or provocative manner since God is a God of order,it is tricky to differentiate between dancing motivated by the Lord and his presence and dancing motivated by the flesh especially when the music is good,God judges both our actions and motives, we should check our motives when dancing for the Lord and make sure that our motive is to honor and glorify Jesus, when praising keep your mind focused on the Lord
Lol these zealot types will fight with anyone about anything. If it brings you any sort of happiness they just say it's a sin and will look for any sort of bible verse that they can twist to try and justify it.
The man healed in Acts 3 went into the temple walking and leaping and praising God over a physical healing. Salvation is the greatest miracle, so I want to leap and praise in worship even more!
@@johndavidwhitt yes, the issue is not leaping and dancing out of a gratitude which is internally motivated. But the socalled worldy dance with external music, lighgts, and smoke with a pop culture is what the bible is against. Neither David nor the man healed in the temple had such a background and motivation. The OT music were well organized according to the bible.

Dance was actually a musical instrument that David also played. Go do the research and you'll find out. Also the way Gods people danced back in David's time was completely different than nowadays.
There's always a balance in everything that we do.... Dancing for the Lord is not bad but taking it too far is bad.... The Lord delights in what we do to praise Him from the bottom of our heart.... If we really dance for the Lord and led by the Holy Spirit..it will never be too far.... God Bless

Nowhere in Scripture is worship ever depicted as being done to music, song or dance. Praise is, but praise isn't worship. The basic meaning of the Hebrew verb שָׁחָה (shachah), which appears 172 times in the Old Testament and is translated 96 times as 'worship' in the RSV is 'to bow down', or 'to prostrate oneself', before God, a monarch or a superior. In the Septuagint, the corresponding Greek verb is προσκυνέω (proskuneó). Unsurprisingly, the verb for worship in the New Testament is προσκυνέω (proskuneó), which appears 60 times, with the basic meaning 'to kiss the ground when prostrating oneself' before God, a monarch or a superior. It's really hard to sing, play music, or dance, with your face planted on the ground in humble reverence. People can't just take anything they dream up, inflict it on God, and expect Him to accept it as worship. Nadab and Abihu probably thought their hearts were in the right place (Leviticus 10:1-2), but look at what happened to them. God determines the rules for how He will be worshipped, not us - and especially not whatever carnality some people have the gall to call being spirit-led.
David danced because the Ark of the Presence of the Lord was back in their midst! How much more should we, the people of God, dance when 2 or more of us are gathered in His Name?! His presence is with us!!!
I do agree. What I dissagree with is when people are giving a dance performance in church. You know. Like all the rest of the people are sitting down and 1 person are a group are dancing in front like giving a show.
Dancing has always been a form of worship in the Bible. People look for a scripture that gives specific permission for everything they don't like but don't apply the same rules for things that they do regularly. Where in scripture are we instructed to sit stoically before the Lord?
Right! Even when the Lord brought the children of Israel out of Egypt. He told pharaoh let me people go so they can have a party/ feast/festival in honor of me in the wilderness Exodus 5: 1-13 God loves singing and dancing , celebrating in his honor there is no doubt to me about that .
Big problem here with this type of exegesis: "Let them praise his name in the dance - במחול bemachol, with the pipe, or some kind of wind music, classed here with תף toph, the tabor or drum, and כנור kinnor, the harp.” מחול machol,” says Parkhurst, “some fistular wind-instrument of music, with holes, as a flute, pipe, or fife, from חל chal, to make a hole or opening.” I know no place in the Bible where מחול machol and מחלת machalath mean dance of any kind; they constantly signify some kind of pipe." Adam Clarke. So no, these two verses you refer to have NOTHING to do with dancing.
@@ArroEL922 actually the word ‘machol’ that’s used in Psalm 150 does mean dancing, not some kind of pipe. That same word is used in Psalm 30:11 where is says, “ Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing (machol): thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness.” It wouldn’t make sense for that scripture to say “thou hast turned my morning into some kind of pipe.” Please read the scriptures for yourself and depend on Holy Spirit to help you understand, instead of trusting in man and their interpretations of scripture.

@@beepeejayj865 Are you depending on the etymology only for the meaning of a word? Isn't context more of a factor to be taken into consideration? I’ve been in church most of my life (starting at the age of 10). In my opinion, dancing in this 21st century is done as “showmanship.” The church is dancing as a form of spirituality. In other words, if you can’t dance or don’t dance, you’re not spiritual or even a Christian. It’s done as a form of entertainment. David was not in a church!
I dance in church. I don't even like public attention. Sometimes I don't even want to stand up, but God has done so much for me, and sometimes I feel moved to stand up and worship. I don't want eyes on me, but I silently talk to God and say, "It's You and me," meaning I'm not putting on a show for anyone. It's just me and Him. Sometimes I'll even just close my eyes and sway.

Tod Friel hasn't got a clue! Tod claimed to have some Bible verses on worship, then confronted Voddie with a passage that had _nothing_ to do with worship. *2 Samuel **6:14* _David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod._ But David's dancing isn't said to have had anything to do with worship - all the context depicts is David's joyful celebration along with Israel at large - as the context makes inescapable clear: *2 Samuel 6:5* _And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals._ In other words, they were partying, not worshiping.

If you know of Voddie, you would know that he is a godly man. I think he might just be skeptical about dancing , since people take scripture out of context. Most don’t ask those questions because they know it implies an intimacy with The Lord. They ask so they could practice dancing as a cover up.

Praise, worship, blessing, thanksgiving, and prayer are all quite different things and we can't simply foist whatever we want on God and expect Him to accept it as whatever we choose to call it. Christians should learn what the biblical meanings are, rather than imposing modern redefinitions them. These words in Scripture have very specific meanings and, when it comes to our interactions with God, we disregard those meanings to our cost - perhaps even to our peril. For example, Psalm 5:7; 22:7; 29:2; 66:4; 95:6; 96:9; 97:7; 99:5, 9; 102:22; 106:19; & 132:7 are about worship, whilst all of Psalm 150 is about praise, and doesn't even mention worship. Indeed, there are more references to praise in Psalm 150 than there are references to worship in the entire Book of Psalms. Hardly surprising given that the Hebrew title for the book תהילים (tehillim) basically means 'praises' - as does the Greek title, ψαλμός (psalmos). Psalm 95 differentiates thanksgiving, praise and worship What is commonly passed off as worship today has nothing to do with a Scriptural understanding of worship, or even of praise. Jesus summed up the problem: _This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men._ (Matthew 15:8-9) If one isn't doing what Scripture calls worship, then one isn't doing what Jesus said God requires of us: _God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth._ (John 4:24) Simply throwing the word 'worship' or 'praise' into a song or declaration doesn't make it worship or praise. Likewise, singing _about_ worship and praise isn't the same as _doing_ worship and praise. Many of the songs sung to God in churches today are a blend of praise, blessing and thanksgiving, even prayer at times, but they're not _worship._ You can't just take anything you or someone else dream up, inflict it on God, and expect Him to accept it as worship. God determines the rules for how He will be worshipped, not us - and especially not whatever carnality some people have the gall to call being spirit-led. The main verb for worship in the New Testament is προσκυνέω (proskuneó), which appears 60 times, with the basic meaning 'to kiss the ground when prostrating oneself' before God, a monarch or a superior. The Old and New Testament view of worship is one that combines the humble, reverential, attitude of mind and body in homage. This is something rarely seen in churches today. Nowhere in Scripture does worship ever have anything to do with music, singing or dancing. Indeed, anyone who pays attention to what the Hebrew and Greek words mean and describe would recognize in an instant the implausibility of a worshipper doing any of those things while worshiping. Psalm 95:6 typifies the physical posture attending worship: _O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!_ When was the last time you were on church and God was worshipped this way? One thing worship is not is cavorting about the place making a spectacle of oneself. Those who engage in such activity typically try to defend dancing as a form of worship on the basis of 2 Samuel 6:14: _David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod._ But David's dancing isn't said to have had anything to do with _worship_ - all the context depicts is David's joyful celebration along with Israel at large - as is plainly stated in 2 Samuel 6:5: _And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals._ In other words, they were partying, not worshiping. There are 112 references to worship in the Old Testament. There isn't a single mention of worship involving singing, music, or dance in any of them! Some advocates of the unbiblical activities they pass off as worship try to defend their position by claiming worship and praise, for example, are synonyms and that the Hebrew and Greek words mean the same thing. But there is good reason for there not being a single instance of the Hebrew verb שָׁחָה (shachah) or the Greek verb προσκυνέω (proskuneó) being translated as 'praise' or of the Hebrew verb הָלַל (halal) or the Greek verb ἔπαινος (epainos) being translated as 'worship' anywhere in Scripture: because they describe entirely different things.

Church services should be orderly. Dancing decidedly has a tendency to be disorderly. The fact that someone can prophesy does not mean he should interrupt the preaching with prophecies or speaking in tongues. Paul was careful to make that a point.

I’m not even a Christian and I figure this is obvious. Dancing is a valid form of worship for the Lord, but it’s not necessary to do if you don’t want to? Like I didn’t even think this was a question
I see it as undignified, and thus unsuitable for doing in church. I believe liturgical, solemn and unified worship is proper and appropriate for worshiping God.
I’ll tell you this, I was in The Assembly of God church for 20 years of my first marriage & I could not accept all the hoopla & hollering, running up & down the isle, flipping flopping all over the floor & hearing all this mumbling & gibberish they call tongues. It was the hardest thing to go through but I did it because at the time because I thought I was doing what God expected me to do by following my husband at the time. Knowing what I know now, I wished I never spent on day of my life in some of those demonic spirited churches. Today they are call Charismatic Movement, Prosperity Churches, claim it and name it churches. If your in one of these, RUN for your life & NEVER LOOK BACK! It’s NOT a true church!
Everyone says to run and everytime I ask why no one tells me why. In my view I could be wrong I'm new to the faith forgive my ignorance but shouldn't we help our brothers and sisters see the truth?
I agree with you I was raised in a Pentecostal church since a young child I was set free from the charismatic beliefs when I became a adult and left home

@@Josh_E2405, it’s because Roman Emperor Constantine changed the concept and turn into a rule while calling buildings the church. it’s not a bad thing to go to a building but essentially that’s just a building and we are the church of God.

Love these guys! But check this out Halal - primarily a Hebrew root word for praise. Our word “ hallelujah” comes from this base word. It means “to be clear, to shine, to boast, show, rave, celebrate, to be clamorously foolish.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24
I'm noticing a concerning pattern. The church has become so overrun by liscentiousness, that now a lot of teachers are pulling so far away thay they're bordering or crossing into legalism. We see all these "pastors" saying "Do whatever you want! God understands!" and we recoil and correctly discern that to be wrong, but in our efforts to "not fall victim" to liscentiousness, we stray into legalism. I think it's a good reminder that it's not any better to be a Pharisee than it is a Prostitute. It's just as serious of a sin to put extra-biblical restrictions on people as it is to encourage people to sin. Isaiah 29:13 "The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught"
I agree wholly, but is also true that is better to be wrong on the side of caution. If I am wrong in not dancing I just missed a couple of moves that i could have busted in church, If I am wrong in dancing I have been displeasing the Lord in my worship my whole life.
@AdamFontenet-iy3tb Because it's not sound Biblical discipleship if it isn't rooted in the Scriptures. Paul absolutely discusses things that are not allowed in church, not once does he ban dancing. It would be solid Biblical discipleship if the word of God commanded us to obstain from dancing in church, but it doesn't haha So people who take that position have no Biblical ground to stand on, they are simply imposing their own feelings on the Church. I am not saying I think dancing in church is great, but what I am saying is that we have freedom in Christ and it is legalism to put man-made, unbiblical rules on other believers based solely on your own personal feelings. I would say we all have to pray for discernment and be willing to accept the truth, regardless of if it agrees with our position or not.
This is not a heaven or hell issue. In anything that we do, God judges the motive of the heart. If someone is dancing in church to give praise to God, that is one thing. If someone is dancing in church to be seen of men, that is other thing.
It’s OK to go to ball games and shout and dance around, it’s Ok to go to your kids graduation and shout and dance around, but you best not get emotional in Church and celebrate the greatest victory of all mankind. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE STUFFED SHIRTS THAT CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS? Shame on you guys for mocking and putting down Christians that want to celebrate their faith.
This is highly religious and wrong to say dancing in church is not Biblical. Psalm 149:3 says to dance to God. Exodus 15:20-21 they danced to God. Psalm 150:4 says to dance to God during praise and worship. David danced to God. It doesn’t say God was upset at his dancing it says his wife was, much like the reformed. Ecclesiastes 3:4 says there’s a time to dance. Is that just for weddings? We have a spiritual wedding to prepare for. The entire Bible associates dancing with joy Lamentations 5:15, psalms 30:11-12. So joy is associated with dancing. Psalms 100 says to worship God with a joyful noise. It associates joy with worshipping Him in His presence. Psalm 98:4 says to make a joyful noise to Him. Again joy associated with worship and joy again has been associated with dancing. Beware of strict teachers who are Pharisees who strain a gnat. They take a tiny issue and make it a big one and put heavy burdens on people. Don’t listen to rocks my friends unless you want to worship God like a spiritually dead rock. Obey the Bible and dance and don’t listen to these two men who are confused. Bochum and Friel are 100% wrong here.
I dance and sing to show joy. It's an expression of joy. No convulsing but people can fall on their face or fall to their knees. When I dance I am full of joy, but I come from a life full of depression and despair so I only actually danced once and it wasn't a long or big dance but I was just so happy when we were singing a hymn that I just had to dance

Jesus said not to pray in public or flaunt your faith like the hypocrites in the synagogue. Jesus was against organized religion and places of worship.
@@rc59191 that’s a huge stretch. Jesus went and taught in the synagogue on the Sabbath. He also overturned the tables at the Temple because He recognized it as a place of worship to God. He was against the heartless ritualism and legalism of the Pharisees, not “organized religion”
One of the greatest gifts bestowed upon me was to have my eyes opened to the fact that Jesus has a sense of humor. Awesomely funny, I laugh until I am out of breath. I try to keep it in check, and my foundation is always taking Him seriously. But it is a form of loving him with all of my heart, my mind, my soul. My strength manifests by how all consuming my joy and laughter can be!
Dear friends, the thing we should keep in our mind is that whatever we do should glorify and honor God. We must before doing or saying anything think whether it is for our pleasure or God's glory. And if it is for our self pleasure then let us give it up. 1 Corinthians 10 : 31. And the same principle goes with dancing in the Chruch. Let us ask the Lord what we should do instead of looking up to some pastors or preacher. If we open our Bibles with a humble and prayerful heart our loving Father will surely teach us. James 1:5. May the Lord guide you as you seek His will.
Wow, what a terrible answer. It’s not that specific verse that gives us permission. As people saved by the redemptive blood of Christ our freedom to worship rests in the Holy Spirit.
Ok but there's a time and place for everything. What is the purpose of church? Is it to be filled with the spirit and act out, or to pour out our praise unto the Lord? If we are to act out in the spirit, where is the line? If I start shouting louder than everyone, or dancing on the stage, am I allowed to just because the spirit made me? There must be a level of self-control and respect for God, and the congregation that does not distract others or make a mockery of worship.
"No, I won't dance in church, bc I have too much pride to do it. In fact, I really don't believe in worshipping the Lord at all, I believe in worshiping my intellectual acuity & Bible lawyer ing." Good job smh
@AdamFontenet-iy3tb the word actually has action behind it. This guy makes up rules that aren't scriptural. Amd no I have nothing to do with New Age garbage. I'm in full-time ministry, and this is not the word. The word doesn't have a high minded spirit behind it. This is high minded, intellectual superiority.
You it’s funny how people can always find justification to do something without God’s approval. Who is the number 1 worshipper of all time? Who worshipped God the absolute correct way without blemishes. Right the Son of God. But, we are going to imitate a form of worship from a man who was a murder and adulterer. I see why most Christians can’t overcome sin. The Bible says follow and mark the perfect and upright. How about following Jesus Christ as our model of worship. He never dance, ran or laughed out load, screamed, and every other type of emotional behavior. The way of the cross is a changed mind, not emotionalism. I feel sorry for this weak and perverse generation. They hate scripture, they exult personal relationships over the truth of God’s word. Every thing with this generation is what I personally believe and my convictions. Let all you be liars and the Bible truth. God said, he is looking for true worshippers, not form and fashion. “If the Spirit falls on you” please, that’s the music and the charisma of the singer and preacher. Soon as some of you get a bad report, all the dancing go out the window, soon as your money dry up , where is the Spirit now? Your spouse cheats on, kids disrespect you, your whole life is a mess, God can’t pay you to dance. Going to church saying pray for me. Emotionalism has no power over Satan, dancing has no power over the dark things in this world. But a change mind. God wants your obedience not your emotional outburst. The land is sick because of all this foolishness in America. Same sex on a all time high, public schools teaching kids about pornography, the government is crooked. And you all talking David dance. And where did that get David, sadly since this event in David life, you see a slow downward decline of David. He numbers the people, which the Lord hated, he married multiple wives, which the Lord said not for the king to do. None of his children were raise godly, we know the story of Uriah and how his own son conspired against him, and the list goes on and on. David life did not end how it started. I am not going in on David, I am making a point, you don’t look to men on how God is to be worship unless they are perfect and upright. Look to Jesus, the Author and finisher of your faith. What if David would had built the temple without asking God. So is everyone that give God worship he never asked for. Start with seek you first his righteousness and trust me, that is move than a dance or praise. Holiness or Hell…you decide
Man I'm late for this but, Jesus didn't need to shout and be emotional because he was the one dying for people sins, if you can't get emotional..overjoyed, shouting to praise his name idk what to tell you. Do you realize what he went through so that we all might live. People tend to focus on him being nailed to the cross, but what about the emotional pain of taking on all our sins even though we are not worthy? That's reason enough to shout and praise his name!!
This ‘’pastor ‘’ Reminds me of this people Luke 18:38-40 38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. 40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Don’t try to do everything David did☝🏾 You are not David Focus on things of Spirit & let’s not mix frivolity during Serious Issues of Worship. Did Jesus ever danced during Worship? Right…..so calm down & get on your knees

Dancing has always been a form of worship in the Bible. People look for a scripture that gives specific permission for everything they don't like but don't apply the same rules for things that they do regularly. Where in scripture are we instructed to sit stoically before the Lord?

Not in the temple or synagogues. Those are very orderly and spontaneity was not in the equation.
It is written to praise the Lord with dancing in the 149 psalm . Some versions it may be also in the 150 psalm.

"Psa 150:3 Praise him with trumpet sound: Praise him with psaltery and harp.
Psa 150:4 Praise him with timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. "

If you are really dancing for the Lord, and not interrupting the service. But, really dancing for the Lord. not, just dancing like you feel like it, or because you are happy. It comes down to the heart.
The heart is a wicked thing.
Totally agree. If we really just think about it. The people that criticize dancing they probably go dance to all types of music at events that doesn’t glorify God.

*2 Samuel **6:14*
_David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod._
But David's dancing isn't said to have had anything to do with worship - all the context depicts is David's joyful celebration along with Israel at large - as the context makes inescapable clear:
*2 Samuel 6:5*
_And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals._
In other words, they were partying, not worshiping.

Its really sad to see so many Christians arguing over this and believing we can know what is in each others hearts.
Its also sad that some men are talking about women dancing in church "distracting" them. Just close yours eyes and focus on God. Worship is definitely not about watching other people to see how they worship or what they're going to do.
David danced before the Lord on a road, Miriam and a bunch of other women danced and sang before the Lord on the other side of the Red sea. Okay so these were not churches. Does it matter? I don't see how when the church building is not the temple of God you are!

No Voddie!! I don’t understand why no one is speaking out against Voddie. Voddie doesn’t think it takes all that. HOWEVER some of us know scriptures for ourselves Voddie.! Many places in the Bible speaks of dancing for the Lord Ecclesiastes and many scriptures but my favorite is psalm 149 3-4. Let them praise His ñame with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. Voddie doesn’t think that’s necessary. We don’t have an ark or a king? I disagree Voddie!! We have the King of King and Lord of Lords and it would behoove you to praise and worship him. Teaching is wonderful but you aren’t teaching the Bible all way. Humble yourself before God humbled you Voddie!!!
If you know of Voddie, you would know that he is a godly man. I think he might just be skeptical about dancing , since people take scripture out of context. Most don’t ask those questions because they know it implies an intimacy with The Lord. They ask so they could practice dancing as a cover up.

Calvinism is a false gospel
@kM-ij2ly how so?
God deserves our praise,
The Bible says let everything that has breath praise the Lord, and that word praise has different hebrew meanings towards it (Yadah, Barak, Tehillah, Shabach) its about singihg, shouting, dancing unto the Lord, so that our hearts are prepared to hear His word and that we can enter into His holy place and experience the presence of thr Lord in the most holy place, Worship is a journey

Psalms 149:3 - Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psalm 95 differentiates thanksgiving, praise and worship
What is commonly passed off as worship today has nothing to do with a Scriptural understanding of worship, or even of praise. Jesus summed up the problem:
_This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men._ (Matthew 15:8-9)
If one isn't doing what Scripture calls worship, then one isn't doing what Jesus said God requires of us:
_God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth._ (John 4:24)
Simply throwing the word 'worship' or 'praise' into a song or declaration doesn't make it worship or praise. Likewise, singing _about_ worship and praise isn't the same as _doing_ worship and praise. Many of the songs sung to God in churches today are a blend of praise, blessing and thanksgiving, even prayer at times, but they're not _worship._
You can't just take anything you or someone else dream up, inflict it on God, and expect Him to accept it as worship.
God determines the rules for how He will be worshipped, not us - and especially not whatever carnality some people have the gall to call being spirit-led.
Psalm 95:6 typifies the physical posture attending worship:
_O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!_
When was the last time you were on church and God was worshipped this way?
One thing worship is not is cavorting about the place making a spectacle of oneself. Those who engage in such activity typically try to defend dancing as a form of worship on the basis of 2 Samuel 6:14:
_David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod._
But David's dancing isn't said to have had anything to do with _worship_ - all the context depicts is David's joyful celebration along with Israel at large - as is plainly stated in 2 Samuel 6:5:
_And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals._
In other words, they were partying, not worshiping.
There are 112 references to worship in the Old Testament. There isn't a single mention of worship involving singing, music, or dance in any of them! See, for example: Genesis 24:26, 48; Exodus 4:31; 12:27; 33:10; 34:8; Deuteronomy 26:10; Joshua 5:14; Judges 7:15; 1 Samuel 1:3, 19, 28; 15:25, 30-31; 2 Samuel 12:20; 15:8, 32; 2 Kings 5:18; 18:22; 1 Chronicles 16:29; 29:20; 2 Chronicles 7:3; 20:18; 29:28-30; Nehemiah 8:6; 9:3, 6; Job 1:20; Psalm 5:7; 22:7; 29:2; 66:4; 95:6; 96:9; 97:7; 99:5, 9; 102:22; 106:19; 132:7, etc.
Praise, however, is often associated with singing, making music, and dancing:
*Music*
1 Chronicles 23:5; 25:3; 2 Chronicles 5:13; 7:6; Ezra 3:10; Psalm 33:2; 43:4; 71:22; 98:5; 150:3-5
*Singing (55 times)*
2 Samuel 22:4; 22:50; 1 Chronicles 16:9; 2 Chronicles 5:13; 20:21-22; 28:30; 30:21; Nehemiah 22:46; Psalm 7:17; 9:2, 11; 18:49; 31:13; 47:6-7
*Dancing*
Psalm 149:3; 150:4
Given that the Greek and Hebrew words used for worship in the Bible describe people bowing down and prostrating themselves, ask yourself how anyone would have been making music using the kinds of instruments they had back then, let alone singing and dancing, at the same time as they're worshiping.

Halal - primarily a Hebrew root word for praise.
Yeah this is a good comment.
I still think it’s not dignified to dance in church. If it isn’t edifying, it shouldn’t be a regular practice.
@@hismajesty6272your opinion does not matter
Is this even suppose to be an argument?
What nonsense!
Enter into his gates with Thanksgiving and into his courts with Praise.
David is not in the Church. that's it. brothers and sisters we know how sacred the church is.
Right !He was NOT in the Temple. The ARC was out of the Temple too. He danced and leaped, celebrating, the glory of GOD being in their presence. HalleluYah Amen 🙏🏿🔥♥️
Church is not only a building but an environment - where you praise, worship, sing, fellowship etc
Man… imagine thinking that this silly conversation is what the Lord shed his blood for. People arguing whether dancing is ok… Lord help us.
The letter kills but the Spirit gives life !
Sound like a bunch of foot loose ...humble yourself and look at what Jesus did for us
We are the church
"No, I won't dance in church, bc I have too much pride to do it. In fact, I really don't believe in worshipping the Lord at all, I believe in worshiping my intellectual acuity & Bible lawyer ing." Good job smh
Geez...strawman much?
@matthewmartin7639 have fun being a learned intellectual, and non spiritual
@AdamFontenet-iy3tb the word actually has action behind it. This guy makes up rules that aren't scriptural. Amd no I have nothing to do with New Age garbage. I'm in full-time ministry, and this is not the word. The word doesn't have a high minded spirit behind it. This is high minded, intellectual superiority.
As someone who goes to a non denominational church that’s really Pentecostal, I whole heartedly agree with Voddie’s explanation of this.
Well said. GOD BLESS YOU.
AMEN AMEN & AMEN 👊🏽💥
Man I'm late for this but, Jesus didn't need to shout and be emotional because he was the one dying for people sins, if you can't get emotional..overjoyed, shouting to praise his name idk what to tell you. Do you realize what he went through so that we all might live. People tend to focus on him being nailed to the cross, but what about the emotional pain of taking on all our sins even though we are not worthy? That's reason enough to shout and praise his name!!
This ‘’pastor ‘’
Reminds me of this people
Luke 18:38-40
38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Wretched radio is cool :)
hi itzdime lol
I dont feel comfortable in those churches where they go nuts. I just feel out of place
Don’t try to do everything David did☝🏾
You are not David
Focus on things of Spirit & let’s not mix frivolity during Serious Issues of Worship. Did Jesus ever danced during Worship?
Right…..so calm down & get on your knees
Well said.
