What you say is true. The problem is that many say the Holy Spirit has lead or is leading them. The way to double check is to see if it harmonizes with the Bible. If not, then we have a problem.
David Wilkerson warned The Body of Christ about Christian rock, “another gospel-another Jesus”, feel good sermons--way back in the 70’s. This precious man of God was practically stoned to death for sounding the alarm but truer words were never spoken.
❤ David Wilkerson was passionate for the church of Jesus Christ to be truly devoted to Jesus, to love and serve Him, not to be married to the world. He was spot on! He didn't cave in and lie to people, but spent time in prayer, seeking God, and faithfully proclaiming the Good News and warning people, pleading for them to live for Christ and convincing that God's Word is true. I listen to sermons of his almost everyday! Very refreshing!
Most hymns are not outdated. The feelings people had back then are the same feelings people had now. For example, "just a closer walk with Thee" "Jesus hold my hand" "it is well with my soul" "I just want to be where you are" "I come to the garden alone" These are all good songs that praise Jesus and acknowledge human struggles and how great the Lord is. They may use words that are "old" but they are not outdated. Not saying all hymns are wonderful but they are not irrelevant either.
To, anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. 100% agree with Justin Peters 👍 I’m professional musician and christian born again since 35 years … I’m very careful of christian show business … the Bible teach us clearly to be aware from false gospel, false teachers … must keep open eyes and focus on Jesus ONLY according to the Word of God…
Ask God if it’s right to listen to these songs, I don’t listen to people like this they can all be fake seek Gods guidance always and follow Jesus’ teachings
It's a good thing Justin doesn't know all their hearts. I sing Hillsong songs all the time. God knows my heart and I can say with confidence I have not adopted this "false teaching" that Justin claims Hillsong leads you to with their music. A great friend of mine who is a pastor at his own home church who left his previous church due to them not teaching the entire bible, also listens to Hillsong and he is one of the closest people to the Lord that I know. His group is on this program every year where they read the entire bible in 90 days. We use Hillsong music purely for worship, the music itself does not have faith, it's not alive. The person does. We're not concerned with loving our enemies. Or unknowingly supporting them financially. I wonder if the CEO of the company that makes that microphone Justin speaks into is a follower of the evil one or perhaps part of a "false church". Would that mean Justin is financially supporting a brand that is headed by an unbeliever by using that mic product? We never think about what we're saying when we accuse people of supporting others who are, newsflash, sinners. And also, are they fake? Or are they lost? Has Justin followed his own advice in his closing statements of doing the most loving thing is telling people at Hillsong and Bethel the Truth? Or has he still only went around the world pointing fingers playing vigilante judge and measuring sins and groups on a human-based ranking system? We need to be careful we don't live with a plank in our eyes when we play judge. We're not good judges. It's simple. Go ahead and listen to Hillsong if you want to. Just keep living by God's word.
It doesn't mean that you can't sing the worship song to glorify God. I play music for Church service play so of Hillsong songs and some from Elevation and I believe God knows my heart. God judge my devotion anf my worship, not any of fellow Christian.
@@itskenlang TBH some of their song lyrics are questionable to say the least. They do have some good lyrics while teaching doctrines that are false. I don't really know what "spirit" inspired them. I used to listen to their songs and even bought CDs but upon finding out they're nothing but devil worshipers I tossed them in the trash. Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
@@jesusislord4762I don't agree with their generalization in the video. For example, I think What A Beautiful Name from Hillsong is a great worship song. It's what's in in someone's heart when he/she sings the songs is what matters not the leaders of Hillsong or whatever hidden agenda/money making scheme they are up to.
@@itskenlang This sounds convincing, but to challenge that, did the apostles take the same approach? If an organization named the name of Christ but distorted the doctrine a little bit, was their response not to “judge”? I remember Paul when talking about the Judaizers who corrupted the gospel. “I wish that those troubling you would emasculate themselves!” This was significant because the Judaizers were just adding circumcision and other ceremonial law to the way that people should be saved. All in all, not a very Christ-like response, according to your logic

These people don't evangelize, they just pick at churches they are jealous of. To be fair here I actually listen to that music and words to see if it matches the churches beliefs and there is a lot of CCM I have my doubts about. So much that I now play very little of so called "christian music". You can be discerning and still not fling mud like the wolves behind this video are doing. I had a dream once and I have never forgotten it. It was a dream of Jesus taking my hand and He took me in His arms and twirled me around. It was wonderful, I felt whole and complete in Him. His head fell backwards and His laugh was something I have never heard before. He had such delight in His voice as He laughed and twirled me around. It was an amazing moment and something I hold onto always. It was so pure
I would love to know what your favourite Bible verse is that speaks about the glory of Jesus. Mine is Revelation 1:17-18. Dreams can be misleading and from the devil too.
What you said about Africa was soooo spot on. I live in South Africa, the prosperity gospel and feel good messages are the message of our full gospel churches. I thank God for my father that taught me the right way, who studied parts of the Bible. I really had bad experiences in the full gospel church, being as a young person, loving the truth. It's hard for me to feel good amongst other Christians. I focus on my relationship with God rather then waiting for someone to feed me like a baby on scriptures. If the prosperity gospel is leading astray, don't worry. They would of been lead astray without them as well because the don't have the capability to discern biblical truth from false doctrines. There is also knowledge that is revealed to you in spirit that only you having a strong relationship with God will show you.
@Coetzee Familystead Thank God that you found your way now. In the word we living in now, we need to look up and around us for help. We need a personal relationship with God and the Bible. Time is so near
This is so true. I recently joined a church in Centurion but i noticed that they are singing Hillsong songs. I couldn't sleep last night because it bothered me that i am singing these songs knowing what the hillsong church is all about. I am contemplating on leaving that church because of this.. the church in Centurion is KSM (kerksondermure).
If everyone had this mindset about anything else in life the world would never be the way it is. But thats only how successful people think tbh. I would be really surprised if you are not successful in life.
@Coetzee Familystead Yep, it's sad there are so many churches doing wrong in the name of Christianity. We shouldn't be in a position of caveat emptor...but that is what is happening...spending time finding the right church, when in that time you should be in the right church building wherever it may be.
You are so right Mr Peters! I was raised in the church of Unity, a very new age church. It is metaphysical to the core. After I got saved I had to unlearn the lies that had been planted in my heart and mind. I Thank God I heard and accepted the true message of salvation at the age of 12. Now at 79 years of age I’m eagerly awaiting the day I will meet Jesus face to face when He calls me home.

I feel as Christians, we expect to be spoon feed the truth. I have come to realize that no church can truely do justice on teaching the word of God so my main priority is studying scripture. There veiws on Jesus was deeply disturbing to me and completely insane.
It took me a long time to figure this out, but I think what the modern church is missing is the fear of God. Old hymns feared God greatly and gave him the best of their poetry.
I have changed my approach to lead worship in my university to a 1+1 or a 1+2 approach after knowing the depth of old hymns, the approach is 1 hymn + 1 or 2 contemporary songs, and for the contemporary songs I will only go for songs which have their lyrics which honour God.

The music is so powerful. I have often listened to lyrics and thought, ‘this does not honor God, it’s about yourself.’ I am so happy the Lord led me to listen to Justin Peters who calls out ALL of these prosperity preaching charlatans and now Hillsong, Bethel (of which I was not familiar) and Elevation. All of us need to pray for wisdom and discernment from The One Holy God alone, His Only Begotten Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Also, for these inerrant beliefs to be exposed.
Be aware that Satan likes to control both sides. While Justin Peters is correct in calling out hillsong, Bethel and elevation for their false teaching. Most don't realise that Justin Peters & Todd Friel are also deceivers. They're luciferian freemasons.
My rules for worship music: 1. The lyrics must be biblically based and Christ-centered. (A good start for anyone wanting to write worship music is just taking the OT Psalms and setting them to music. Re: Shane & Shane.) 2. The music can be of any style, but it can’t distract from the overall message of this song. While I don’t mind more contemporary songs, sometimes the rock/pop can drown out the lyrics if they’re not controlled. If the music and lyrics aren’t in sync, then the message gets lost. 3. The songs must be tailored to a congregation setting where we can all sing together as one for God, not ones written for specific individual contexts. (E.g. Casting Crowns “Broken Together” is a great individual Christian song because it deals specifically with the theme of marital problems, but their song “Who Am I?” works better in a congregation context.)
@@joelacona6057 Death metal might be distracting for worship, but I've heard and enjoy loads of Christian Death Metal and Christian Grunge outside of church! For congregational singing, minimal instrumentation and clear, singable lyrics are probably best-- which rules out some genres not because they're bad but just because they feature fast/slurred/loud singing or too much going on at once.
@TheTrenchesYT You might enjoy lots of things , but doesn't mean it's Holy, authorised, or pleasing to everyone else. You said all styles....Question: Who gets to decide the style ? What if one person absolutely hates your style ? What if God hates it ? Who gets to decide is the question? I reckon you'll have no answer, because the question is faulty to begin with . The real question should be is any music at all authorised? And the answer must come from the new testament scriptures, example and even history, and there simply isn't any . Scriptures command singing, not playing. For obvious reasons, not everyone can play , the temple levites...theocracy is no more. What we have now are just the scriptures as our authority, example. To bring music into the church is to sin .
If you pastor and worship leader wants to grow the church to get more money he will reject Justin's message , if they want to se poeple get born again they will accept it.
Well, they down right continued despite all the logical explanations given. The head pastor even stated that they consider Word of Faith to be heresy. Get that. They know it, but don't think anything wrong with supporting heresy by means of playing their music. Unreal. We left and found a baptist church that does not use their music and it is beautiful. The other church sounds pathetic, because those emotionally charged songs are ussually sung with lots of emotion and expression, but that is not happening and ackward instrumental sections in between verses and chorus. It is pathetic. They just want to be hip and do not consider the deeper things behind it all. @@michaelwhite6505
What's funny is I used to need music, worship music playing while I prayed when I was a teenager. At that age we are emotionally driven and "need" to be ushered into God's presence. But I grew up listening to Carman and Steven Curtis Chapman. Now as an older man don't need it. It's a distraction. I count all things a loss so that I can gain Christ more. It's just me in prayer in my room. Thanks for this. I always had a weird feeling to their music and lyrics so I stopped listening on my own. They are targeting a younger audience but the lack of sound doctrine is scarce and not being taught. I blame this culture of trying not to offend anyone and being accepting and fitting into what is.
I still love my hymns, It says in scripture we are to praise him with sounds of joy. Don't get me wrong, I agree solo meditative prayer is also extremely important. Using both works for me depending on the time and place.
Well we definitely still need worship music! Col 3:16 is clear on the grace we receive through worship. But so cool to hear your testimony about your growth in prayer. Definitely don't NEED worship music to do that!
That's why I don't find a church where I can find GOD. I was not crazy. Most of the churches are acting the same way :( I don't want that false spirit in me. I feel lonely sometimes because I want a community in Christ, but nobody talks about the true gospel, only about how much God's blessings (money, and how healthy they are even they are eating trash). Also, they play those emotional songs that I don't feel the presence of God like I feel in my closet alone. Thank you I will continue to seek God for sure, I will find a Church.

My church stopped playing elevation, bethel, and hillsong a little over a year and a half ago. It was hard for everyone at first, but it is so worth it!
That's good to hear... I also hope our church would sing hymns more often during worship rather than randomly picking songs on RUclips which I don't really considered as worship
I just went to the Hillsong Christmas Spectacular concert (invited by a friend). Almost 70% of the songs and themes were about Santa, they were literally praising Santa way more than Jesus and brought Santa up to the stage after a big hype. Jesus’ name was only mentioned right at the end for about 2 songs. It was clear to me after that, what their true motive is.
Why attend our church then, if you clearly don't believe? Even if a friend did invite you, how strange that you would accept an invite if you're not a believer.
@@belindathomas7430 As a person who can't stand Hillsong's nonsense, I might go. There are a thousand comments on here but I'm throwing my hat in the ring anyway. I'm 40 years old but I still remember being a teen and young adult and I absolutely sought out the entire albums of the artists whose songs we sang at church camp or youth revivals or chapel at the Christian school I went to. I would have been at the Christian book store buying Bethel/Hillsong/Elevation cds if their songs had been played during worship wherever I found myself. It almost sounded ridiculous to me when Justin first said that people will notice the fine print on the screen but then I remembered the CDs I bought back in the day. It's not ridiculous at all to think that people will seek these churches out because of one song that moved them.
I know people that have found the LORD because of these songs. These preachers are out of control. I am worried of the sheep, they are running lost with these fake preachers.
Worship Jesus with respect, reverence and rejoicing for His sacrifice. Be aware of false doctrine. Worship God in spirit and truth. Our audience is One. Do not dishonor His name. Psalm 132.
I respectfully say, when the Church begins to turn on itself, it only makes me go deeper into prayer. Tonight I asked God about this dialogue; because I was so alarmed at all sides of the coin. Still praying as instructed BIG PRAYERS.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
i have recently found that we are seeing more and more some of the greatest leaders turn on scripture. I would suggest you search out and listen to the messages and seek to see if they are telling the truth. I just found this today, but I have seen a lot of big leaders change the word and how we see it. Listen to the words and see if they match up to the word of God, I would print out the music and look and see what the words are saying and see if they line up to the word of God. You will find your answers in this.
I have the same feelings. It seems so much conflict these days, and everyone can find imperfect things in others. I feel so confused and not sure who to believe. I go with my heart, and pray on it. These are some of my favorite songs, and I love them for worship. I will look closely at the lyrics I guess, then see what the Spirit tells me to do.
@@J_LOVES_ME I agree. They have some valid points but others are a stretch to me and sound like bickering. I've heard Hillsong, Jesus Culture and Bethel my whole life, and I don't think I ever watched any of their sermons; with that being said, this argument is weak to me. Also, you don't have to pay them when you sing their songs in church; if you're live streaming, it's a different story. With this argument out of the way, every song is written by a sinner who is equally in need of the Grace of God. I have to say that I do agree with what they say about doctrines and about some of the lyrics; besides having the purpose of making you feel something, they appear indeed too romanticized.
We ALL need to use our own discernment with this. I see the lyrics of the songs that speak to my heart, and I see nothing wrong with them. I expect that if these are not good for me, the Spirit will let me know, just like with everything else. I do not go to any of these churches, I simply listen to praise music and even what I like to call "faith-based" music (such as music that addresses the challenges we face as humans and how we can lean on the Lord during these times) when I am in my car or in the mood to listen at home. For me it is 100% praising Jesus and I sing at the top of my lungs. I suppose we could take a magnifying glass and look at every single Christian on the earth and find ways they are not walking perfectly. It really alarms me though how there seems to be more and more Christians going against each other on things these days. I will not participate in it.
My wife and I are in our 60's now and in the past were Praise and Worship leaders in our churches over the years. The Lord gave us our ministry when we were in our early 30's and it was fruitful. Praise Him for that. I started playing guitar at 9 and my wife studied singing at the conservatorium in her teens. I have been in many bands and stage show bands as well as a music director for 6 stage shows and done some recording. I look back now and see that He was preparing us for that all those years. A few years back we decided to find a church closer to home as we were travelling over 120 kilometers to and from the church we were in. The local church we looked into told us that they did not allow anyone over 36 years old in their Praise and Worship team even though we had no intention of wanting to lead. I wondered if in their mind they thought the Lords blessing stopped at 36 but no. I was stunned that it was basically because they wanted to have the youth lead because they were more 'relevant' to the younger generation. Its all about the Looks. If have watched some Hillsong videos and have also noticed the ages of the P&W team. To be fair they do have older generations in their choir but I also noticed they were up the back where the lighting was less efficient. Ive been of the opinion that many churches are basically rock concerts to lure and maintain the younger generations to stay. Again, to be fair many of the younger gens do indeed love our Lord but I have been concerned at the 'mechanism' the churches are using. Also I do think many of the songs are Holy Spirit inspired so we must be careful not criticize those songs. If the song is glorifying Jesus I dont see a problem with the style
Let me ask you something. If having younger people on a team saved 100 people and having you on a team only saved 5, which is the better option? I get it hurts your pride, but we are here to save people, not to feel good about being on a worship team. There are plenty of mixed churches and less contemporary ones that would be happy to let you on the team. You can also take a guitar and worship Jesus wherever you want, you don't need to be on a stage, in a church. I don't fault the megachurches for using a contemporary model to draw in the younger crowd because those kids will NEVER get saved if you can't get them interested in Jesus voluntarily, and unfortunately we are at war and that is harder than ever because in this day and age going to church is something that gets you excluded and bullied. Kids need a reason to come to church that's bigger than their reasons not to, and if that's seeing young people like them playing loud rock music, then that's what we will do because we're here to save people primarily not mope about being excluded based on age. Sorry if that seems harsh but sometimes that's just what it takes unfortunately, this world is harsh and unforgiving and will swallow these children up if they are led astray. Again I apologize I'm not trying to be mean but there's to many people trying to shut down some of these larger churches based on nitpicks. We need them because they are successful in bringing in new Christians.
Same here. Don't like the "mechanism". What I feel is that, in an attempt to bring down the megachurches, they are also attacking their songs, many of which are actually good if you objectively analyse them. It's like they're throwing away "the baby with the bathwater"

It's okay to get excited about Jesus when you are worshiping Him! The scriptures teach "enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise" (Psalm 100:4) I experience joy in my soul and spirit when I worship Him, in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). I went to a church for years where I saw the most excitement from people on the Wednesday night dinner! How sad! And from everything I have heard as lyrics go have been right in line with the Word. God enjoys our worship and it brings pleasure to Him! People get excited about sports, jobs, vacations, graduations, marriages, on and on but fail to enter into worship and get excited about the Lord who has saved them from an eternity in Hell and given them an eternity in Heaven in the fullness of Jesus's presence! WE MISS THE MARK!!! God does not accept just whatever worship we believe is acceptable to Him. He has told us in His word what He accepts. In Spirit and in Truth, from the heart of our heart, sincere, no pretense, centered on Him alone!
Yeah their arguments about the love of God being creepy worked against them here. Word of faith is not just bad theology, it gets the christian fundamentals wrong. It cuts against the current of the obvious message of scripture which is man's sin nature and deep need for God.
While I don’t agree with the theology from Elevation, Bethel and Hillsongs, there are many beautiful, biblical songs (some derived from the Psalms), that God has given them. I look and see emotional reactions in the congregation and it appears to be nonsensical but “man looks upon the outward appearance but God looks upon the heart” 1st Samuel 16:7 So I will let God be the Judge. Proverbs 6:19 says that God hates those who “stir up dissensions among the brethren”. There’s something off here when a ministry is primarily focused on criticizing another ministry, denying any good they do, it borders on slander, which is sin. This is entirely different from admonishing someone within the local Body, under one’s care.
@@gregc.4117 I mostly agree. Some of these songs, these kind of modern Christian Music, open the door for non-believers to begin to open their mind to Christ. I grew up with a lot of the "traditional hymns" and just do not like them, they turned me off to religion. Later, I started going to contemporary churches with modern Christian Music, I was like, YES, I like this, maybe I can give this whole Christianity a second look, and ultimately became saved.
I sing Hillsong worship songs to myself in my bedroom. No money is changing hands, and since I have been a Christian from childhood I believe that I can judge which songs do "pass muster" theologically. I also sing some old hymns, some of which are written by writers with some dubious beliefs, but I believe have sound wording.
You're judging based on a preference, because of dogma and doctrine you've been brought up with. I understand where you are coming from but it's very very dangerous and that music is not honouring God nor sending people to salvation in Jesus Christ.
I am actually sharing this video with a young man who is handling the contemporary Christian music in our small country church. Biblical illiteracy is saturating America. And I have seen it over and over again begin with the worship music. I teach Sunday school at this church and when I see this music up on the big screen with Hillsong or elevation printed on the screen, my heart just sinks. I cannot sing the words and I simply sit down and begin to pray. Please pray that eyes would be opened in our church to have the enemy is creeping in the back door and is blinding many. My heart is burdened. Not just for this church but for so many others and especially in Africa. The NAR is doing great damage and is growing at an alarming rate. Thank you so much for posting this video and for bringing truth to light and praying that those who watch it will see the truth.

Just a word of caution. The Bible is God's complete inspired word. To put weight in dreams or visions means anything anyone else can dream carries the same weight as God's word. Who is to say what is real and what is not. Put aside anything that doesn't perfectly line up with God's word. Very dangerous.
I agree that profiting off God is bad and all these other things, but in all honestly if I can encounter God and praise him through their songs then I don’t see a problem with it in my faith. It doesn’t alter my faith nor does it harm it. I don’t agree with the teachings of the churches so I don’t listen to that but I do listen to the songs they play because it strengthens my faith.
Yes it was working before by the time u as a person you were not aware of the truth but now you are aware of how fake they are and how the sources of those songs offends to God now it's better to budge from those church related stuffs including songs... Remember apostle Paul saying what manifest what's in the darkness is the light such as when we speak out could be when we renounce them 🤔
You are missing a big fact. These churches are meeting the unsaved. Your old churches are NOT getting the unsaved and the churches are closing. You should get on your knees and be thankful that people are being saved. Get your heart right with God and be thankful that people's Re meeting God. I'm am one of them
Philippians 1:18 NIV [18] But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,
Keep the faith. Thank God we can access them through the internet. We have a very difficult time finding sound doctrine teaching in our part of Florida as well.
Absolutely true. And I can’t believe I’m about to say this but I’ve experienced even worse worship music coming from a church service. I went to Church by the Glades one time, which I almost never go to, and they had this huge orchestrated performance of a Kendrick Lamar song from his new album that looked like it took months of preparation and choreography. They had fire, lights, smoke, all of it. But the worst part about it was the artist whose song they were singing. And I’m 99% sure they’ve seen the picture of Kendrick Lamar imitating Jesus with a crown of thorns on his head from his new album cover, since the song they played came from it. What kind of worship team in their right mind thinks it’s fine to play a song by a man who literally imitated the most painful execution in the history of humanity from the one and only true messiah on live television? Who is HE to imitate his death? NO ONE on this earth ever lived a life as persecuted and painful as Jesus, yet Kendrick Lamar believes it’s fine to make a performance out of it? Thinking it praises the kingdom of God? I was in dismay when I saw the song being performed with some of the lyrics switched up on a Sunday morning church service. Church by the Glades truly is a church of false converts…
i ve experienced the same over the years..as well big showy mega church performance. these methodscan be gimmicks.. not the Holy Spirit.... big difference there is something trying to counterfeit the Spirit of God Reply
In my own country, Ghana, I do not feel the new crop of gospel musicians, I only feel God’s presence and true worship of God with the old gospel musicians
I also believe the change happened with Hillsong about 10 plus years ago. A good portion of the Hillsong Worship team left the church - Darlene Zschech, Miriam Webster, Russell Frager, etc. I stopped listening to anything "new" from Hillsong at that point. Elevation and Bethel (Jesus Culture) I did not know about. However, I am always "cautious" about all Christian Music from every artist and group/church. Thank you, Justin. I just began listening to you yesterday. I appreciate that you speak biblically and truthfully. Thank you, thank you.
l have listened to three of this band Bethel Music's songs, more than once. During one of these times, while l was doing this listening session. . . . l felt so close to my Lord, & Saviour. Frankly, lMO, not sure if any of you, even know what is a real Christian, from a Non-believer. Another thing, when l hear you use the word *Elder, l am reminded of a group of people who walk around, from house to house. . . .handing out their churchs tracks, & pushing their beliefs onto anyone/everyone, who will let them in, & give them their time. l think my time is better served on a (topic,) more worthwhile. lMO, this *isn't one of those kind of topics. I hope you Gentleman have a great rest of your day.
2 Samuel 6:12-23 David worshiped God in not to formal attire and danced before the Lord in public and was later rebuked for doing so. Saul's daughter, Michal, saw this and rebuked him for his undignified behavior as a king. And Michal had no children to the day of her death. (judgement from God, maybe). I too like some of Bethel and Hillsong praise and worship music. I have experienced God bringing up inside my heart the melody and lyrics to some of their songs ("the Goodness of God" and "I Raise a Hallelujah") to minister the peace, encouragement, guidance, and emotional and mental healing I needed at that moment. You keep pursuing Him and you will find Him, regardless of the unChristlike evaluations of their music!
9 months ago, but I will ask anyways. Is it the Lord's presence you sense while listening to this music? Or is it an emotional response that you are confusing with the Lords Presence? Most I believe have never felt the Lord's presence, and once you do you know its Him. I'm willing to bet that it wasn't the Lord you felt, but more emotional response to keys and timing of the music. This is a common thing the enemy does to deceive people into thinking "oh its God!" when it isn't. Beware of false teachers and beware of the wolves that are in sheep's clothing for they will devour you before you realize what is going on. And to answer the question you most likely have: Yes, I have felt the Lords Presence, I felt the Holy Spirit move from one side to another in the church I used to attend. I also felt Him in my room at the end of my bed as he spoke out to me saying "Jake" in a whispering soft voice when I first got saved at 15 years old. Since then, I have had many encounters and have witnessed many things from God, and the devil. Feeling and seeing both, I know the difference and the presence of the Lord is unmistakable.
Did you have any emotion before after and during your encounters with God? If a person has a Gods Spirit dwelling inside them, we shouldn’t passively discredit their experience through questioning if their emotions were leading them. I have found God meet me at very emotional points in my life. I have been baptized in the HS and felt the presence of God both times emotions were at play. If someone is in act of worship or praise, loving God and FEELING his love-let us encourage them and worship with the body
Honestly, I feel like one of the most important issues have been missed in this video is this. Churches like Hillsong have fostered a culture where sexual abuse, child abuse, power abuse and spiritual abuse. They protect the perpetrators especially if leaders within the church, and push aside the victims. The Bible has a very consistent theme on power, humans can't handle it well. Theology aside, any person who is placed over a large group of people is going to be corrupted by that power and will do what they can to maintain their reputation, at the cost of those around them. Honestly probably why a lot of Jesus's teaching pointed to giving away your riches to the poor. So to bring it back to the topic, playing music from these churches is quietly saying, we think the culture of these churches, the behaviours of the leaders, are within alignment to what we believe and endorse in our local church.
Absolute lies. Shall we go into the Catholic Church and s*dual abuse?? One or two pastors loose their way and now the whole church is rooted in child abuse. People are ridiculous. There are many many churches where there is much worse happening with actual evidence to back it up than Hillsong.
I needed to listen to this again,, as a church that I listen to for my Sunday morning church service has been singing songs from these groups,,, more and more. I had to go back and remind myself WHY these three groups are BAD and not sound doctrine “churches”. I just sent an email to the music pastor of the church and attached this video for them to watch and learn. Thank you Justin and Todd for your spiritual insights and research!! ❤️🙏
You need to ask the Lord to show you from His word, the Bible, how to worship, what is worship. Worship is giving to God, the praise of our heart expressed thru our mouth and voice for all that He has done, is doing, and will do for us, and FOR WHO HE IS!
I do believe that we have different approach about this matter but i will not stop using their music in worshipping GOD if I'm trying to Walk Jesus way of living i guess there's nothing wrong with it. I've been (and still goin) in Music team or we call it Worship Team we've tried different music of artist and i do believe that we try our best to make a great line up (list of praise and worship before the sermon) by worshipping Him in truth and Faith . So far I'm still in the music team for almost 20yrs now but still excited when it come to praising and worshipping Him.
30 years ago when I was a new babe in Christ, we would sing a song "lets lift up Jesus, lets lift him higher, lift him up for the world to see.... he said if I be lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me". A church brother disliked us singing such a song because it was error. Because Jesus said that line in regards to his crucifixion. The gentleman thought in essence that we are saying "lets crucify Jesus". The thing is .... he is right but yet the spirit behind it is wrong. This is why Jesus warned us to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. It is a spirit of self righteousness and it is like yeast when you allow it place when you caste a downward eye on your fellow believers. The speck and beam teaching of Christ teaches us that if we think we can judge and criticize a speck of dust in someone else....we are likely to have something bigger in our own eyes. Jesus counsells us to work on the things in our own eyes, or our own hearts. For me it has become a 24/7 job..... the closer I get to the light, the more hideous things I see in myself.
If you lift Jesus up He will draw all men to Himself doesn't mean that sister. It means, as we point men to Christ by talking about Him, worshipping Him with our lives etc, Jesus Himself will draw men to Himself. So it shows us a more effective way of evangelizing.
The man was right. Jesus specifically said in that passage that he would be lifted up, he will draw all people to himself. Does he draw all people to himself because you are doing some “lifting” by singing that song? If you had a teachable spirit you would have respected that older man, who dhould have been treated as a father by you as a younger believer (that’s what the scripture says!!). He was correct because he knew the next sentence spoken by Jesus: “He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.” John 12:33 NIV Also, what you said is not at all the meaning of the “leaven of the Pharisees”. The leaven of the Pharisees was in fact misinterpreting the message of the Torah. You are misinterpreting the words of Yeshua. So you do have that in common with them. Jesus corrected the Pharisees WITH the scripture. You simply follow your FEELINGS. That is idolatry because you follow your faulty fleshly heart.
I so wish I could meet you one on one someday ! I'm a 59 y o disabled veteran and live with my son. At this point I'm alone in a trailer when it comes to my Christianity !!!! I have the internet my bible with no church to attend and nobody to worship with ! I have the Lord to pray to read his word and you and very few preachers to listen to !!! I don't trust any preachers where I live they seem to be about money and worldly things more then preaching salvation and repentance !!! I know your a busy man and I'm one out of many I would love encouragement and advice from you if I could !!!!! I've learned from you and the scriptures to better spot false prophets and it seems to me there's more corrupt preachers then true ones anymore !!!! I need the Lord as my King and Holy redeemer along with the guidance of the Holy spirit !!!! I want to get it right because to me living without God and his precious saving son and his Holy spirit life wouldn't be worth living !!!!! I so need to serve him according to his will !!! I'm old and my mind slips now and then I need to get it right for my saviour and my heavenly father !!!! I have no car to go searching for good Bible believing churches and need some guidance !!!! Can you give me some words of understanding and encouragement please !!!!!!!!
I am with you 100%! My heart is instantly grieved when one of those songs pops up for worship at my home church. It really messes with me and I question my whole participation with the organization. I've been struggling to trust leadership and become much reserved in my responsiveness in reaction to them vs openness and Christ centered attention/worship there. Especially since all else otherwise has been very sound. The two do not go hand in hand.... discernment.
This is so true.😪😓 People made me feel so bad because I don't Worship with this music. False Prophets indeed. They lure people in with cups of coffee, free food, nice breakfast, lunch, dinner. Then scream at you that you are going to hell for not worship with them. God spoke to me thru the Bible. He told me to flee. Not my Faith. They also demand money or tell you to leave. Call you mean names like Dork., Force the faith of false Prophets on people. It's confusing, silly, strange, weird and made me feel absolutely worthless. Yes, People are being brainwashed and gas lighted. Cult. It's a Cult. Grab your Bible and flee. I would much rather have communion on Sunday instead of a silly donut. They are Holy they have donuts. The Homeless are the most targeted for this type of worship. Not today Devil. Flee
Even in Heaven there is music, so if your Church or religion is void of music your Church is not Gods Church, it’s a Church that is governed by man and his rules and not God.
I remember watching this video when it was released. It was less than a month before the world completely changed, crazy to think that we were debating these things on CCM but the past three years it seems the focus has gone entirely in tyranny.
I grew up in a church which sings traditional hymns and got baptized there in 2015. I was rarely exposed to contemporary worship songs until 2021, that's six years after my baptism. I was then able to pick contemporary songs which are biblically sound as a worship leader when I lead worship in my university, and include scripture in my lead scripts. I even led Yet Not I But Christ In Me in a camp last year.
Y’all, this is so crazy because I had listened to a Hillsong playlist the other week and something didn’t sit right in my soul. I just couldn’t understand why because it’s worship music right? well, now I know! God must have nudged my spirit. I haven’t been in the mood to listen to music at all in general! Christian music or not, I am simply weening out of it. I’ve been listening to piano instrumentals only or soft mellow beats.
Im gonna give my opinion, well you don't listen to Christian song and then just waiting to feel tingling on your skin, that doesnt mean when youre not feeling anything that Christ ist there.
Wow what an eye opener. When i actually looked at and listened to the lyrics from Elevation, Bethel etc, realised they speak of the need for self-fulfillment, and not God's fulfillment. A lot of them are actually really depressing. My Spotify is lighter now. We need more Matt redman and Graham Kendrick! Carry on Justin!
“Im gonna sing in the middle of the storm. Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar. Up from the ashes, hope will arise. Death is defeated, the king is alive.” “My God is able to save and deliver and heal and restore anything that he wants to. Just ask the man who was thrown on the bones of Elisha if there’s anything that he can’t do. Just ask the stone that was rolled at the tomb in the garden what happens when God says to move.” “All hail king Jesus. All hail the Lord of Heaven and earth. All hail king Jesus. All hail the savior of the world.” “Here I stand high in surrender I need you now. Hold my heart now and forever my soul cries out. Once I was broken but you loved my whole heart through. Death has no hold on me cause your grace holds me now. And your grace holds that ground.”
Its all about reaching out. Time have changed to encourage especially youngsters to keep in touch. Modern music is NOT a "hook" but an Oasis thats not available in Yester-years in churches. What's wrong preparing the emotion and feelings from worshipping with sole purpose that God Jesus, the center of it all? Some ppl are tone deaf or less musical incline but thats alright, they still can worship alone too. Imagine without these "Music:" How else and Where else can you share Jesus to them? Theres no perfect platform anywhere as long as each individual aske God for guidance and wisdom in his/her walk. Peace Shalom..
Hillsong did “the Creed” I believe in God the Father, I believe in Christ the Son, I believe in the Holy Spirit…. This says it all for me. Whatever you say…they preach Jesus and I will continue to Listen to them over and over again and will still tell my friends about them and their songs(Philippians 1 :8)
The Creed has been sang for years by different groups, and Christian bands try to Google Petra, an old Christian band from the 70s & 80s they were fantastic in my teenage years. Songs are repeated over the years they just pay the fees for the copyright. I agree some songs are great. But regarding hillsong Google it you will be really shocked they have new sensor pastors. Know that's all I'll say. They're is also loads of shocking news. I was horrified.
Excellent teaching I wish every church taught on this stuff. First thing people in the church will say don’t judge those folks or I’m not putting my mouth on them, Paul didn’t have a problem with doing it and he called them out by name. When you judge, judge rightly.
This is not something that should be considered trivial. Yes we may go on and on about how we can just focus on some other important thing in our Christian life but the fact of the matter is that these are things that the devil can use to lead people astray without them even knowing. The devil is cunning and he knows how to use different tools to deceive people. This is as important as the sermon of a pastor in a church. Music is a powerful tool and we can see that even in the secular world where people worship rockstars, pop idols and other talented musicians like they are Gods. May the Lord open our eyes and ears so we can discern what is good and what is not.
I have been forced to really think about this. Especially considering I recently heard the song "Your Goodness" by Bethel. It is many of our themes, our stories, and biblically sound. However, that it might lead someone to the false doctrines of Bethel or Elevation causes me great pause. As for me I am thinking there are so many wonderful old hymns and current worship that is truly worship, that I will stick to those lest I err and injure others.
@@russh2659 from an unsaved person’s perspective, His love is extremely reckless. Once the Holy Spirit gets ahold of you, you realize that it is far greater and stable than you initially thought.
@@russh2659 I played RL a number of times on 2 different worship teams never once did I come up with the idea God was reckless anyway shape or form. It's a figure of speech. Like in Luke chapter 2 when all the world was to be taxed. Was the Bible teaching all the world was to be taxed no it was a figure of speech.
@@albertlopez2237 Thank you brother, it was the author that came up with it as he explains (says not, but then kind of retracts) Attributes of God are NOT a figure of speech. The "modern" church has been making inroads into bringing God down to our level. It is error and irreverent at best.
@@testingmyaudioaddiction3452 So, rather than attribute recklessness to God, it should be taught what God IS rather than He is NOT. Better to sing God's attributes and lift up than mislead. This song should never be "performed" in a church. Worship, in function, should be done with the utmost reverence toward God. Save the discussions for small groups. It is another problem for some of the "modern" church models is there are no truly grounded elders versed in the Scripture, not just the NT.
Bethel songs 1. Let My Life Be Worship 2. Goodness of God are beautiful and spiritually inspired... These songs brought me back to God (and I did not know who wrote them at the time these made an impact on my life)
Glad I wasn’t the only one that felt this was a little weird while I was worshiping. Most worship songs I’m OK with but every time I listen to something like Hillsong it always feels like it’s a really deep love song to a human and not to a God because we have to respect God on a completely different level but the lyrics are same thing as an R&B song that’s not right
That was my reaction too. So glad I'm not alone. For some reason every time when a Bethel or (new) Hillsong song came up on a Spotify playlist ( so I was not aware of the author) I really strongly felt the Holy Spirit telling me to skip that song.
@@andrean.c.9445 What about the other thousands people whose souls are being saved thru their songs and helping the people with their problems and situations???? Also bringing them closer to God
God is love, he sends love with the holy spirit. Yes people might not be prefect but u gotta understand the reason for these songs. These songs made people come to jesus. When the song ocean happens "keep my eyes above the waters as the ocean rise" Means kinda like to keep their eyes open to the life above rather to be blinded and drowned in the bottomless pit of sin
@@onerooboiSongs do not bring anyone to Jesus. God brings people to His son . The Bible says we were dead and until He regenerates us we cannot come to know Him. The good news is that those the Father give to the Son, the Son will not lose. John 6:37-39
I agree with the music aspect and at times I will listen to what our church is singing, and I cringe with the thought "this isn't biblical". I never spoke to my pastor about it but I certainly will after watching this. As far as the prosperity gospel, I do believe in it to a degree. If you tithe and give God control of your finances, you will be better off by multiple magnitudes. I have witnessed this in my own life where we dont tithe and we struggle constantly. Once we started tithing no matter what we never really struggle, we always have what we need and it comes out of nowhere. So I do believe in that cause I have witnessed it with my own eyes and my own faith. Beyond that, idk. I do know that Jesus said we will do the same works as He did, but in greater multitude. So at some point, we will be seeing people walk from wheelchairs, the dead raise, the blind see, right in front of our eyes. I beleive its a matter of how much faith you have, rather than how much money you give. Everything with God is "do you trust Him, and fully believe?".
I wonder how many souls would be saved if the 20 minutes of this time would have been reaching people instead of bashing people. Your love has ravished my heart. Song of Solomon 4. Jesus speaking to His bride.
It can be very difficult to hear prophets and watchmen. They are a part of the body of Christ. We wonder sometimes if they are just bitter, twisted fringers needing healing or faithfully following a legitimate calling.
feel ko kaya pinapatugtog nila yan yan minemention nila si Jesus and biblical naman talaga yumg lyrics. yung ibang kanta lang talaga ng bethel and hillsong parang love songs and di biblical like are you ready ng hillsong
We have to discern which songs to listen to. Too many people are too religious. I feel God's presence when I listen to music even music by Hillsong, Bethel etc. God is my Father, Jesus is my Lord and the Holy Spirit is my Helper! Trust in the Holy Spirit to guide you and to help you discern which songs to listen to and not what others think.
Cessationist cannot grasp that it is the Holy Spirit that “quickeneth” (John 6:63), therefore they wrongly attribute all demonstriveness, all hand raising, all voice raising to emotionalism. No, it is the Holy Spirit that quickeneth! Stop attacking the things of the Holy Spirit.
Thank You for telling the truth in love. It saddens me that majority of self proclaim Christians are misled by the spirit of deception. I personally don't listen to Bethel ,Hillsong ,and. Elevation. There are some churches that don't play their music here in Fresno. My church is one that don't play these kind of music. Jesus reminded us in Matthew 24 -Watch out that no one decieves you. Many are deceived because they don't read their Bibles instead they get lost in the experience . God Bless.
I was in my room and turned on Ocean by Hillsong United and I felt the presence of God. God hugged me and said : I'm your Father. That's my turning point in life and I decided to follow Jesus. (And after that I'm 100% healed) I was a moslem but now I'm a follower of Christ! 🙌🏼 And I always experienced the presence of God with Hillsong, Bethel or Jesus Culture' songs. What's wrong with you guys????!!! Don't you have another topic????
The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of the God man, Jesus Christ. It's the good news for fallen man. Man's condition due to sin is eternally separated from God. also called spiritual death. God's love for man was demonstrated by the giving of his Son. For God so loved the world that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. This is the purpose of Jesus dying on that cross, to reconcile man to God by faith through his shed blood. If nobody was to ever get sick, then explain cemeteries or hospitals. No one gets out of here alive. We all die a physical death. It's the spiritual death or, eternal seperation from God that one should be concerned about and not how much money they have in the bank.
It’s not the songs that are the issue, at least in some cases, but rather it’s the churches that are the problem. Bethel, elevation, and hillsong church are all three not good churches who believe many false things.
Oh really ! ☠️point to me one 😒. Cause when I use to hear it in Spanish Jesus por ti yo viviré y Yo nunca me avergonzare te doy todo lo que soy toma tómalo . Saying: Jesús for you I will live and I will never feel ashamed of you I want to give you all that I’m. Take it , take it All . “ I see Nothing Wrong with that song . I never heard the English version but I translated the Spanish version .
I love worship songs of hillsong church. Their worship song band and singers have nothing to do with the corruption of some of their pastors. I don't think these worship band knew any thing about adultery committed by some of their pastors
That is why everyone has the Holy Spirit in their hearts to guide them into the truth. Stop judging & pray for the whole world. Only God can judge. Let's all pray for the world.❤🙏🙏🙏
There's some music I do like such as What a beautiful name it is. I get where you guys are coming from but I think yes churches need to be taught about this.
"You didn't want Heaven without us, so Jesus you brought heaven down." No he didn't. He left his Heavenly abode to walk in the flesh and raise the standard for holiness by living a perfectly flawless life, and dying as the Sacrificial Lamb, taking the wrath of God upon Himself. I could go on. But in it's most basic sense, that statement is not true. And we are to worship in spirit, and Truth. No Heaven was brought down, (the new heaven and new earth haven't come down yet) and no standard was lowered or brought within reach. Jesus didn't bring heaven down to our level. He lifts us up to His Heavenly Father.
@@edenelston7668 yes PRAISE GOD THAT LYRIC PARTS BOTHERED ME SO MUCH. PRAISE THE LORD! LET'S CONTINUE TO ASK THE LORD FOR STRONGER DISCERNMENT. MAY WE BE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you! Thank you for this conversation that needs to be had in all churches. I have shared with a worship leader and a pastor via here and plan to have a few conversations in person. I personally feel sick in my spirit with music from all three churches you mentioned and also many many artists who classify themselves as Christian. The devil is a deceiver! God however, is faithful and He does expose darkness, He will route out, tear down and destroy all darkness. Exposing the enemy for who he really is.
it's too bad because the first Christian songs I heard were by Hill song, and Elevation. Because they're catchy and mainstream but it's important to know which songs are actually good/churches behind them.
To the people defending the music itself, I myself played their music as lead guitarist of my former church and have felt God in the worship and music and just like they said, a lot of the music itself is biblically sound. It's the money they receive from the songs being viewed on RUclips, or their albums bought, or churches singing them paying their copyright fee, which goes to support their evil "ministry" that is the core of the issue. Even if you never look up a single service, buy a single book, or follow them on any platform doesn't matter. I agree with what the guy in the video said, I don't believe God is pleased by worship music that literally pays wolves to spread their heresey and sorcery to clueless and trusting sheep. I didn't know better at the time when I was playing the music, I just got the songs on the list and learned them without a second thought just believing it was just music. I was very newly born again at that time but now that I know better I can't in good conscience play the songs in church. As far as singing the songs around a campfire, bethel isn't getting paid so I suppose it'd be fine but knowing the evil of the source would you really want to?
Our church sings these hillsong songs ourselves but we change the lyrics to be more biblically accurate. Thru christ we are already close to jesus as he is in our hearts but some songs have lyrics that make it seem like we are distant from god and need him to come closer.
So its how much money they r making is what made u believe that they are evil? Are they suppose to go poor? If u glorify God thru song God will bless u and ur band. This is what heaven is.. we worship God thru songs like those
I am Rupert Reed from PE (South Africa) and Thank you Justin for the Truth ❤ because here by us when you listen to most of the music no one extrally know what the meaning is and if not then the the meaning of the Song means to all about Evil or Negative meaning so it can't not be from God Almighty
Metal sharpens metal. As Paul also wrote letters to different churches reminding them and giving correction. Just remember all things you do and speak must be done in Love.
It’s not a matter of sinfulness or worldliness in the music, but tradition. Personally, I want to feel like I’ve been to church and not a dance club or concert.
It isn't good enough to just "feel like" you've been to a genuine church. You want to KNOW deep down you've been to a genuine church. Unfortunately, 90+ percent of modern churches today miss that mark in some form or another. Music is just one way they can miss the mark. The real issue is in what those churches' pastors preach. If it's not the true gospel of Jesus Christ, it's a false gospel and should be avoided.
Allen, I am so glad you made this video. My church started singing this song in the last few months and it has seriously turned me off. Your objection makes perfect sense and really hits at the heart of the song's problem. My gut reaction to the song is a visualization of chaotic frenzied yelling and screaming that too many identify with spiritual power and holiness when it is really nothing of the sort. To be blunt, it's unedifying. That song bothered me along with my church starting to put distracting moving backgrounds of stars or waves behind the lyrics. There is something off about that and I would love to get your reaction to that, Allen. For me, just the slightest subtle suggestion that God's spirit is moving in the lighting behind the lyrics is a serious issue. Our God's presence should not be downgraded to having the likeness of a Screensaver. That's totally messed up. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to rein it in a little bit. God Bless
I am selective when in comes to worship songs. I only pick where my heart and soul chose. But it's also wrong to generalized the songs dedicated to God because of human failure. Worship songs bring calmness and comfort in my soul. My personal pick is Amazing Grace and OCEANS( Where Feet May Fail) from UNITED.
I mentioned this a while ago and people pointed and laughed at me. Nowadays nobody thinks for themselves, they just look at names, positions and titles. Ever seen Hillsongs "peace" music video? There's a reason why.
Be discerning don't just do something because everyone is doing it ,,. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth.. you need not that any man should teach you.. thanks Justin and Todd. Just another wretched man. Saved by Grace. John Rogers. Australia 🦘🌏
Are you a wretched man or a new creation? Which is it? Quote the Bible and not a hymn....how ironic.
Hallelujah
What you say is true. The problem is that many say the Holy Spirit has lead or is leading them. The way to double check is to see if it harmonizes with the Bible. If not, then we have a problem.
Pray for discernment and wisdom and the Lord is happy to supply it abundantly.

For example, "just a closer walk with Thee" "Jesus hold my hand" "it is well with my soul" "I just want to be where you are" "I come to the garden alone"
These are all good songs that praise Jesus and acknowledge human struggles and how great the Lord is. They may use words that are "old" but they are not outdated. Not saying all hymns are wonderful but they are not irrelevant either.
The hymns have meaning, almost scriptural in quotes. Today's songs are nothing but repetition and feelings. There is no comparison.

It took me a long time to figure this out, but I think what the modern church is missing is the fear of God. Old hymns feared God greatly and gave him the best of their poetry.
Yes! Absolutely, the hymns of the church written by Fanny Crosby and many more Bible-based hymns that bring honor and glory to the Lord!
I have changed my approach to lead worship in my university to a 1+1 or a 1+2 approach after knowing the depth of old hymns, the approach is 1 hymn + 1 or 2 contemporary songs, and for the contemporary songs I will only go for songs which have their lyrics which honour God.

My rules for worship music:
1. The lyrics must be biblically based and Christ-centered. (A good start for anyone wanting to write worship music is just taking the OT Psalms and setting them to music. Re: Shane & Shane.)
These rules are incomplete.
Dyer if I can write music and I write a gospel song it have to be biblical.or do it have to come from my heart
How do you reason music can be any style ? Is music neutral ? What about death metal in the church ? What about heavy metal ? What about grunge ?
Thank you very much. I have forwarded this to my worship leader and pastor, waiting to hear their responds.

I am worried of the sheep, they are running lost with these fake preachers.

i have recently found that we are seeing more and more some of the greatest leaders turn on scripture.
Best response on here. Seeking God first. Just know, we may end up hearing what we don't want to hear.

While I don’t agree with the theology from Elevation, Bethel and Hillsongs, there are many beautiful, biblical songs (some derived from the Psalms), that God has given them.

Later, I started going to contemporary churches with modern Christian Music, I was like, YES, I like this, maybe I can give this whole Christianity a second look, and ultimately became saved.
Ask for discernment from GOD alone and HE is always there to lead us for HIS glory!
I totally agree with you🙏
God is not honored by worship songs written by false churches, regardless of where you are.
Same Darlene ZSCHECH is a wonderful worshipper
You're judging based on a preference, because of dogma and doctrine you've been brought up with. I understand where you are coming from but it's very very dangerous and that music is not honouring God nor sending people to salvation in Jesus Christ.
I listen to them on YT music that doesn't mean I'm sending them money!!
O Absolutely me too, I was saying this v thing to a friend just yesterday ~ so many x in church I have bn unable to sing the UNBIBLICAL words displayed in the overhead screen!! This should Not be!! 😔
@@garyrakich902 Has it occurred to you and others that there are a fair number of Christians with hearing problems and can't quite understand the words being sung in church? So at least they learn the words to the song properly? Or there are people that aren't familiar with the song for them to learn? Keep on being religious.
Music isn't Bible. Bible study, especially eisegesis, should be held at a much higher standard than music. If the music makes you think about Jesus, it should be ok.

Now I open my eyes even I praise God on Saturday not on Sunday...
Why are u addicted to the song..? Im addicted to the Holy Spirit when I sing .
One morning @ around 6am in May 2022, i was already awake but still laying on the bed. Something happened to me like i doze off and i saw a vision. In it, i saw myself at a certain place i didn't know, holding a Bible as i was standing there i heard a voice saying, "Number One Rule, 1️⃣THE NAME OF JESUS MUST BE HONORED IN THIS PLACE."
And that was it. As try to figure out the place, the vision just fades and i woke up not knowing the place until this day. The vision was less than 2 minutes.
I just want to encourage you Brethrens that wherever we may be or whatever you do make sure you are Honoring Christ and doing what Honors Him. Depend wholly on Holy Spirit our teacher... 1 John 2:27
Remain in the LORD

Soo so hard. 💯 % agreed
Most FIEC churches in the uk are very biblically reformed. I’m very privileged to be a member of an fiec church. Expository preaching all the way.
Soooooo hard.
Keep the faith. Thank God we can access them through the internet. We have a very difficult time finding sound doctrine teaching in our part of Florida as well.
"complete truth" 😂
They will be exposed we come knowing them that becomes our knowing the truth which will save us free

Sorry but before these accusations even came out, watching Hillsong felt like something was wrong and over the top.
You just told your Sean’s other that he was rebuked because of his close nothing else ☠️?
They're a cult.
What ☠️ when did HILLSONG do anything to children i décadas
Don’t believe you.
Absolute lies. Shall we go into the Catholic Church and s*dual abuse?? One or two pastors loose their way and now the whole church is rooted in child abuse. People are ridiculous. There are many many churches where there is much worse happening with actual evidence to back it up than Hillsong.
Amen ❤ Keep your eyes on Jesus alone. Only Jesus! He will never fail us
I needed to listen to this again,, as a church that I listen to for my Sunday morning church service has been singing songs from these groups,,, more and more.
I would like to know what the response was.
Did they ever respond? How did it go
Could you please tell us what the response was?
I agree. I plan on doing that exact thing this week.
Amen! God bless you! I have thought of this for years but couldn’t put it into words.
Amen i see nothing wrong in this song!! it is biblical
He was correct because he knew the next sentence spoken by Jesus:
“He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.”
John 12:33 NIV
Also, what you said is not at all the meaning of the “leaven of the Pharisees”. The leaven of the Pharisees was in fact misinterpreting the message of the Torah. You are misinterpreting the words of Yeshua. So you do have that in common with them. Jesus corrected the Pharisees WITH the scripture. You simply follow your FEELINGS. That is idolatry because you follow your faulty fleshly heart.
no villa the leaven of the pharisees was self-rightousness

Death is defeated, the king is alive.”
“My God is able to save and deliver and heal and restore anything that he wants to. Just ask the man who was thrown on the bones of Elisha if there’s anything that he can’t do. Just ask the stone that was rolled at the tomb in the garden what happens when God says to move.”
“All hail king Jesus. All hail the Lord of Heaven and earth. All hail king Jesus. All hail the savior of the world.”
“Here I stand high in surrender I need you now. Hold my heart now and forever my soul cries out. Once I was broken but you loved my whole heart through. Death has no hold on me cause your grace holds me now. And your grace holds that ground.”
What about this?
Absolutely, people must stop being selective and just serve God the best they know how.
Whatever you say…they preach Jesus and I will continue to Listen to them over and over again and will still tell my friends about them and their songs(Philippians 1 :8)
Those words are "I believe in Jesus Christ ", make sure they say the name of Jesus if a church won't say the name Jesus get your butt out of there
The Creed has been sang for years by different groups, and Christian bands try to Google Petra, an old Christian band from the 70s & 80s they were fantastic in my teenage years. Songs are repeated over the years they just pay the fees for the copyright. I agree some songs are great. But regarding hillsong Google it you will be really shocked they have new sensor pastors. Know that's all I'll say. They're is also loads of shocking news. I was horrified.
I am glad I read the King James Bible when young. It is easy to be deceived. Much prayer fasting in these days.
Excellent teaching I wish every church taught on this stuff. First thing people in the church will say don’t judge those folks or I’m not putting my mouth on them, Paul didn’t have a problem with doing it and he called them out by name. When you judge, judge rightly.
Ask God to give us a spirit of discernment. Justin must preach the truth to win souls. He is on a fault finding mission
Well said.
What about "Reckless Love"? when did the Bible teach us God was reckless?
@@russh2659 from an unsaved person’s perspective, His love is extremely reckless. Once the Holy Spirit gets ahold of you, you realize that it is far greater and stable than you initially thought.

It is another problem for some of the "modern" church models is there are no truly grounded elders versed in the Scripture, not just the NT.

Thank you for this video. Needed it several months ago and needed it tonight. Much appreciated.

And I always experienced the presence of God with Hillsong, Bethel or Jesus Culture' songs.
Some Hillsong and similar songs have false teachings, so we should take care
It’s not the songs that are the issue, at least in some cases, but rather it’s the churches that are the problem. Bethel, elevation, and hillsong church are all three not good churches who believe many false things.
Oh really ! ☠️point to me one 😒.
Cause when I use to hear it in Spanish Jesus por ti yo viviré y
Yo nunca me avergonzare te doy todo lo que soy toma tómalo .
Saying: Jesús for you I will live and I will never feel ashamed of you
I want to give you all that I’m.
Take it , take it All .
“ I see Nothing Wrong
with that song .
I never heard the English version but I translated
the Spanish version .

The song that I love is "Just As I Am". There is another, "Who Am I".
Music is important but it should never drown out the message.
I love worship songs of hillsong church. Their worship song band and singers have nothing to do with the corruption of some of their pastors. I don't think these worship band knew any thing about adultery committed by some of their pastors
If that's the case then the Israelites shouldn't have been punished for the sins, David did!
Oh I'm sure they did
Yep. Heard preachers like this in the 80’s. Different music styles, but same Religious spirit.
Same spirit Jesus called out as a "brood of vipers." This creates division more than a worship song to Jesus creates heresy.
That is why everyone has the Holy Spirit in their hearts to guide them into the truth. Stop judging & pray for the whole world. Only God can judge. Let's all pray for the world.❤🙏🙏🙏
We would sing the psalms to music ,drums ,trumpets , tambourine, and organ
There's some music I do like such as What a beautiful name it is. I get where you guys are coming from but I think yes churches need to be taught about this.
"You didn't want Heaven without us, so Jesus you brought heaven down."
No he didn't.
@@edenelston7668 yes, that phrase has always bothered me.
@@edenelston7668you brought heaven down is true in the sense that jesus was from heaven and he came down to earth?
Listen to City Alight, EMU, Keith and Kristyn Getty's worship. They are scripturally accurate
Thank you!!!
Our church sings these hillsong songs ourselves but we change the lyrics to be more biblically accurate. Thru christ we are already close to jesus as he is in our hearts but some songs have lyrics that make it seem like we are distant from god and need him to come closer.
Explain your strong words?? Evil?
So its how much money they r making is what made u believe that they are evil? Are they suppose to go poor? If u glorify God thru song God will bless u and ur band. This is what heaven is.. we worship God thru songs like those
@@mindblowing8672 clearly you didn't watch the vid or read my comment
I am Rupert Reed from PE (South Africa) and Thank you Justin for the Truth ❤ because here by us when you listen to most of the music no one extrally know what the meaning is and if not then the the meaning of the Song means to all about Evil or Negative meaning so it can't not be from God Almighty
Metal sharpens metal. As Paul also wrote letters to different churches reminding them and giving correction. Just remember all things you do and speak must be done in Love.
Love you brothers. Thank you for the reminder, I really wandered off. Pray for me.
I'm shooketh 😮. So is Oceans, So will I, breathe all included in this please? 🙏🏽
