My mom and dad loved Ray, and I did as well, I loved all his stuff, the man is very creative, and should be far more famous than he is... Thank you for all your tasteful entertainment.
Just wanted to state the obvious...Ray Stevens talents are many and you seldom hear anyone doting on his accomplishments. Like him or not...much like Roger Miller was Ray's the sharpest knife in the entertainment drawer.
whoever in the group of music lovers would say Ray is not wonderful !!! His words and actions bring happy enjoyable emotions to me !!! I love watching him do *I saw Elvis in a UFO !*I have loved him and disliked him for a while ,for a little let down at my hometown ,,Keep up your good work Ray ! love ya ,God love's you more😇 🐴🐖. 🐩🐈 🐦 🐇
"Once you get hooked on camping, You'll never like the city again!" Oh deary me, only one comment Ray did not make at the end of his final statement is a possible rejoinder from him, namely, "Horse pucky!" ... My sincere commiseration to all the unfortunate campers of the world ... buuut ... I most certainly LOVE Ray's comedy and I laughed with the best of them! *hugs* to Ray!
@@susanboylefanable When this song came out in 1986,State Farm had an ad campaign where people would tell their story about their insurance claim & wonder if they were covered. Waaay before the farmers started to copy the idea.
You know, the cost of fitting a family of five from scratch nowadays, with a tent, sleeping bags, knapsacks, boots and camp gadgetry... $6497.22 is totally plausible. But, like the man said, you can use it all again... right? :D
I love camping Ray, got my tent , airbed ,cot, solar charger for phones, a twenty dollar grill that lights my charcoal to heat my $10.00 water kettle to heat my water for my instant coffee and fruit flavored oatmeal , cast iron frying pan will cook everything else.
My husband was a professional musician Clyde saxophone tenor and clarinet did Studio music backgrounds porkchop singers New York now this is the thing that he really didn't like for someone to mess up a beautiful song call Misty now that really ticked him off that is a beautiful song sung by a beautiful singer mr. Matthews and it should never ever been tampered with.
I lived that story that Ray Stevens sang when I was in my twenties. Me and some friends went camping with my wonderful grandfather Willie Lewis. We didn't sleep in a tent though. We slept in a log cabin. We kept hearing mysterious weird frightful noises and I got so scared that I went to bed. I'm beating myself up for a long time because I was in my twenties not my little kid years. I told my grandfather aren't you going to be mad at me aren't you going to yell at me? He said no I'm not going to be mad at you you were frightened it's alright. I am so glad that somebody was here to protect us when we heard all those scary noises. Don't get me wrong I love to camp
+Joe pappa - there are blackberries, but not the phone; they're the edible kind. I remember hearing this song on the "Surely You Joust" cassette. The ending was longer on it. "For what this trip cost, we coulda gone to Hawaii! Twice! First Class! I'm talkin' hula girls and them little pink, fizzy drinks with the parasols stickin' out of them! Nature? Just give me some concrete! I love traffic! Let me have some of that smog, too! Just call me "Urbane" from now on!"
That old adage about youth being wasted on the young....never more in evidence than the occasion I declined to share cake with Mr. Stevens and his band. It was your typical Texas open air extravaganza.... an August evening, the temp on the freshly laid asphalt pad had dropped to a balmy 103. well actually the pad was considerably warmer. If you ever picked or chopped cotton in Texas you know the heat absorption of flat black surfaces...but I digress....a tall skinny fellow wearing a blonde wig and a bass said 'hey it's Ray's b'day want some cake? we knew he was talking to us cause we wuz it. I said thanks but I better not. I hadn't noticed Ray, his back was to us and it appeared they were gathered around a small table. I'll never forget what he said very matter of fact 'you sure...the guys made it....it's pork & bean.' Just as easily could have been a scene from one of my family reunions. Add Bob Wills and a Lone Star runabout w/a 35hp Evinrude.
Love ray so much! Love is new song I would buy it! It reminds me of the pig song and the boxing song which I have the tape, but I have to replace the tape of the rainbow song. When he was on tv I watched his show, missing watching it
My husband suggested a camping trip ! I said sure ,as soon as I see a Motor Home ( R V) sitting in the drive way ! I am game ! Two weeks later There set a Toyota Motor Home ( RV) sittings in the drive way ! I said “You are kidding “ ? He said “ You didn’t say what type “ Turned out to be the best vacation we ever had ! Better then a tent ,because it rained 🌧for two days and nights ! 🤷♀️ 👨🏼🦳👵🏻🌲
keep it going, Ray Stevens. Love your songs. if you COULD though, try working on a new tune or beat or something. I think all 400 songs are the same tune/beat. keep em coming, regardless. God bless ya.
Hogwash. Give me a campground over a hotel/motel anytime. We got a travel trailer (our room the way we want, full bath & kitchen, no maids walking in, etc) just to get away from crappy hotels/motels. After pulling in, we can be setup in about ten minutes and sitting back eating hamburgers a half hour later. Trailer remains behind while sightseeing in truck. Can't beat it.
Never saw that Land Rover again. Yeah, it just floated off. Last I saw was the taillights goin' over the falls. State Farm ain't gonna ever believe this.
Don't pitch a tent over a tree root, even if it is the last camping spot left. Also, do not undress when the tent lantern is lit. I was very popular the next morning at Ocracoke Island Camp Ground about 40 years ago...awoke to gales of laughter the next morning. LOL
I my brother and parents. Used to go camping every other weekend. We had no experience like this. Sure glad we didn't. I would have been the first one .Moving it at high speed. First one in the car and all the doors locked. Wouldn't unlock the doors for nothing. Let the bear attack them and eat them. At least I would have been a survivor of the family.
Does anyone really camp anymore? My fondness memories of youth was living in the woods! Mr Yuppie parent there are no blackberries, androids or pc out there! Get out and live!
I do not as much as I would like to but I think it's good to get back to nature every now and then and I can't stand people who drive an RV to a campground with electrical hook ups, running water, and a fully stocked bathroom and call THAT camping
Sadly, there are IDIOTS who do this. Haul gear into nature, decide it ain't a bed of roses, and abandon it all, trashing the place because they're lazy and self-consumed.

The best concert I ever went to was Ray Stevens. People were literally rolling in the isles and crying with laughter. Love him!!!!!
Ray Stevens is an absolute American treasure. This song has got to be 1 of his best if not the best. It's absolutely hilarious 😂

Any time I need to smile I can count on Ray Stevens
This is my first time seeing this one. Just like all of the others, it's funny and hilarious--Ray at his best.
Just wanted to state the obvious...Ray Stevens talents are many and you seldom hear anyone doting on his accomplishments. Like him or not...much like Roger Miller was Ray's the sharpest knife in the entertainment drawer.

I love the 80's PC game graphics used in this video.

Maybe he should'a thought about Farmers? 😁

As a firefighter,I'd use that line for particularly spectacular wrecks.
Absolutely a genius man, Ray please never stop doing what you do ❤
I was looking for Gary mule deer!
This is too funny.
Love these animated music videos! ❤️

Assuming you manage to leave the woods with all of it, yes, you CAN use it all again!
Don't forget the cost of that Land Rover.

I wonder how many people remember Euell Gibbons.
I do! I stalked more than wild asparagus when i was young..
"Many parts of a pine tree are edible". When Euell Gibbons died in 1975, the rumor was constipation from eating pine cones caused it.
I still have his books!
@@WMDTVIDS Lol, I still remember him and I get "Grape-nuts" flashbacks, lol.
Awesome

why would you go to a camp ground anyway, the point of camping is to get away from everyone else and get back to nature
I was divorced and had two small children with me.
