I wish Ray would’ve used the original instead of re-recorded the song. One of my all time favorites. Grew up with this song. The original is on I Have Returned.
did not know this song was based on a real person.......Hugo Zacchini (20 October 1898 - 20 October 1975), one of the Zacchini Brothers, was the first human cannonball to use a compressed-air cannon. His father Ildebrando Zacchini invented the compressed-air cannon used to propel humans in circus acts. He was known for being a daredevil and a painter.
....Well...THAT got uncharacteristically dark! [Shifts eyes from left to right] I'm sorry, I can't resist. Ray Stevens and co. would like to thank you kindly for playing Hugo's Big Show. We are all delighted by your score and hope you are enjoying the game.
This happens to be a true story and is one of the reasons nobody does the human cannonball anymore the wringling Brothers retired last year too I'm 30 years old and I've only been to a circus once at 8 years old I barely remember but the tightrope and trapeze artist along with the clown made a lasting impression I hope to be able to experience the circus again someday how I might just haul off and join them it's sad that our children won't be able to experience such wonders like we have
this is sort of funny and sad. Here in vegas in the KA show, one of the performers fell to her death this weekend. no one knows what happened yet. RIP Sassoon, we will miss you.
Rest in pieces Hugo. 😅

Yeah, I do prefer that one. Been looking around for a high quality rip of it.

This song brings back so many memories of my best friend and I in high school. We were definitely the odd kids
RIP Hugo
Always loved this song. Made me laugh to see all those headstones at the end with Hugo's name on every one of them!
Love the song
This has got to be the funniest song ever thank you for sharing!!!
Funny, I hadn't heard this song in about 20 years, yet I remembered it pretty vividly. Cute animation!
Poor Hugo, never to give an encore...

Tough job, being a human cannonball...one little mistake and your whole career just goes to pieces.
Litterally
Tough job, you get it and right away you're fired.
Not just the career. The one doing the job goes to pieces as well.
