    Amazing band. I was in the Penn State Blue Band, and I remember when A&M visited us for a game. Thankfully, they brought their band and I've been a fan ever since.

    By the way, my son was in the Fightin' Texas Aggie band and for me it was a fantastic experience and I'm sure he would say the same. Currently he is a commissioned officer in the US Navy.

    They are cadets in the United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). They receive commissions as 2nd Lieutenants upon graduation from university.

      @JJR93 3 года назад +1

      Last I checked, ROTC participation is only mandatory for freshman & sophomores. It's possible to remain in the Corps or Band without going contract ROTC, and many do. TAMU has Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC, and NROTC (Navy & Marines). The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and Texas A&M Corps of Cadets have their own traditions and customs that exist alongside the ROTC contract & scholarship programs.

    The corps is an awesome aspect of the greatest Texas university. I would have that model duplicated in the PNW if I could.

    @pvp64 ... They are in the corps of cadets.. That's the uniform.. The only college that sends more cadets into the military as high ranking officers is the united states military academy at west point..

    lol, I'm gonna laugh at this post if the Aggies and Longhorns meet in the Cotton Bowl at the end of the 2012 season. Aggies will destroy the Longhorns and I'll be rooting for my new SEC brothers. Thanks for joining us Aggies and helping the SEC continue to be the power house conferece that it is. Eternal scoreboard Pat? lol so funny. As if those two teams would never meet again? For your sake Pat, pray that the Longhorns get invited to the Chick Fil A bowl lol

    Sips dodged a major bullet. Instead the Aggies will beat the hell outta OU in the Cotton Bowl. The student will become the master, as Sumlin will stuff every last X and O of that spread offense down Stoops' throat and make him loathe the day he met Mike Leach.

      The Uniforms are based on United States Army Uniforms from World War 2, though the Senior year uniforms with the tall boots are more World War 1 era.

    Not to get in a pissing contest with you, but 5 minutes of research shows that slightly less than half ever go on to actually join the military. That being said I withdraw my earlier comment because those students that do, certainly deserve respect.

    If TAMU wanted to be designated as the university that represents Texas and they formed first why not just call your self The University of Texas lol. All these misplaced abbreviations are stupid. What if Texas fans started calling TAMU Something like AMUT or MATU or UMTA or ATUM? Would sound pretty fucking stupid such as calling UT ?..TU. Oh and just curious how did this game work out for the Aggies?
