Hi Frederick. Very nice. I purchased a small rig cage and some accessories for my Canon M6 Mk11, which is what I'm making my videos with, and love it. So many more possibilities. I admire your quality videos and am continually trying to up my game. The learning process for making videos has been a good exercise for a low tech (perhaps no tech) person like me. A lot to learn. Thanks for the videos and look forward to meeting you in Tennessee.
Aha! A comment from Bob Binnie makes my morning and I'll celebrate with a fresh cappuccino! I am very much looking forward to getting an opportunity to meet at the conference. The largest room in the world is the "room" for improvement, and we're all there. Thank you for your kind words and for taking time out of your day to watch :)
Live stream, exposure. IF you still want to autoexpose you can use the spot or center meter setting instead of the matrix meter. That way whatever is in the spot meter (normally center) section of the frame it will expose for that so that when you demo something you hold it where the spot meter exposure section of the frame/camera is it will expose for that. OR you might try to set manual exposure and use a grey scale card or something similar to set the exposure you want but it will lock in the exposure and not be flexible for when you demo things. Matrix: The camera bases exposure on the entire frame. This setting is always used when you shoot in Auto, Auto Flash Off, or any of the Scene exposure modes. Center-weighted: A blend of matrix and spot metering, this mode bases exposure on the entire frame but puts extra emphasis, or weight, on the center of the frame. Spot: In this mode, the camera bases exposure on a single, circular area about 3.5mm in diameter. Exactly which part of the frame that circle covers depends on focus settings.
Thank you :) I know how to set up all of my dslr and mirrorless cameras :) my live stream camera is a logitec streamcam.... I should ditch that and hook up one of my morrorless cameras. I actually make my living as a photographer :0
@@FrederickDunn your video looks just perfect, you don't need to center-weigh anything. I could see every detail and my brightness is lower than average.
Hi Fred… guess they have one for the Z9… have you preordered the Z9? Or will you keep going with Z7II and firmware up-dates? I am still on the fence… $5.5K is a bit steep for me when iPhone 13 pro seems pretty good.
My Z9 arrives mid December, I won't be putting a cage on that "yet"... I'll be keeping the Z7II and Z7 bodies as special purpose setups that are ready to go.
@@thegr8stm8 I do have the F-mount adapters, but when it goes to video sequences the non "S" lenses are noisy as they rack back and forth focusing. But for still images, all work well.
I think it's actually the noises they make when warming up to defend against an attacker, I've observed that with my own bees when a European Hornet arrives on the landing board... Listen to these and see if it may be similar? ruclips.net/video/llsA1dtMM-E/видео.html
@@FrederickDunn that’s probably it. They didn’t have a video for me to hear the sound. But your description is similar. With the exception that they called it a scream. Probably just using that word to sensationalize it.
So many details!! Thank you for the video!! 👍👍
Wow, a comment from the actual company? :) Thank you so much! I use your gear daily :)
This is an EXCELLENT review and I thank you! SOLD
Glad it was helpful!
Great break down!

@@FrederickDunn Thank you.
Very useful gear review, thankyou!
Thank you so much, I don't often do photo gear videos, I appreciate it.
Nice! I got the Nikon z7ii
I hope you did the recent firmware update, they really enhanced the focus aquisition. :)

Just saw your response, Fred. Looks like the adapters work well to take old lenses and 3rd party lenses. Matt Granger is impressed.

Time now for the Z8
W Video
would it fit on my nikon d7000?
is it possible to use a cage with a gimbal at the same time?
I use the Ronin system and it works better without the cage.
is it compatable to Nikon d 7500 camera?
Nope, you have to go to the Small Rig website and find a compatible cage for that specific body.
Hey Fred. New study just came out that shows that bees “scream” just before being killed by murder hornets. Kind of freaky

1:30 who else got their camera and checked? xD
Only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t fit the battery grip
True, it's a trade off there.
@@FrederickDunn until they make one for it.
@@FrederickDunn what did you think of the Z9?
@@justingreen8572 Mine is due mid-December, I'm unloading my D4s towards that new body. I think it's got a lot to offer for what I do.
Wrong model cage. I asked for 2926B
I'm not sure what that has to do with this video? 2926B is also for the Z7.
