Its always so funny when there’s an achievement thats literally “beat the tutorial” that somehow has a completion rate of 60%

A lot of people buy or have installed a game and never play it
the 40% who did not beat the tutorial: my goals are beyond your understanding

Shoutout to Foekoe’s accent that somehow makes him saying “achievement” with a ‘K’ hidden in there right when it sounds like he will say it normally.

My favourite thing ever is when games use achievements to enhance the experience, showing the player new things. My 2 best examples:
-In a metroidvania called Chasm, there is an achievement for beating a boss fight without getting hurt. I thought it was fun, so I tried it, and got it after restarting the fight 4 times. Then it turns out, THE GAME GIVES YOU A SPECIAL WEAPON FOR EVERY BOSS YOU MANAGE TO DEFEAT THIS WAY. That feeling of discovery was great.
-In a 2D adventure game called Wandersong, you play as a Bard, and you are trying to save the world before the Hero does it, to prove yourself. And it turns out, the achievements for that game are not for things you, the Bard, can do, but rather, they are achievements for THE HERO. They unlock as you advance in the story and see how HE is progressing, not you. It makes it feel like even the game is against you, and it is an unbelievable experience.
Achievements are one of my favorite things in the industry. Finishing a great game and realizing there’s more things to do in it can be the best feeling

I always felt the binding of Isaac handled achievements the best, since each achievement earned gives you a new unlockable item to use in future runs. It gives a more tangible reason to go after 100 %.
I remember when i played a flash game a lot of years ago called Achievement Unlocked 3, which was about an elephat in some kind of playground, and almost every single thing you did gave you an achievement, until you had to grind to get new achievements. It was a funny game that had clever jokes about the state of achievements on its age.
John Cooney/jmtb02 was *the* game maker on Armor Games in its heyday. He also made the Dark Cut series, Hedgehog Launch, and This is the Only Level.
Seeing your thumbnails improve has been so satisfying, they look bloody amazing and are a really underapreciated part of your channel, glad to see your art improve👍
I love when games have a built in achievement system like hades, getting an achievement in that game gives you resources to use so there's actual incentive to do them all.
Also haven't seen it mentioned: arkham city is miserable to fully complete. A handful of achievements are tied to challenge mode, which just bloats the game an insane amount. Each stage has 3 medals to earn and there are 200+ medals for each character, and you have to replay EVERY SINGLE STAGE with all 4 characters that play almost exactly the same
risk of rain 2 also has that where you unlock new characters, abilities, and items along with the achievements... actually now that i think about it i don't think there is a single achievement that doesn't unlock you something with it
You’ve never heard of Muck achievements
I love rain world achievements because of this, letting you fast travel to somewhere once you get an achievement is amazing

What sucks more is not just the achievements being flat out impossible to achieve anymore, the unique gamemodes are also discontinued as well. They were super fun too and I miss playing them. It also makes me feel bad for new players who never got to play the game when it was still being supported.
I honestly had fun with beating boss hunt with randoms
Some achievements literally spell out to you: "the definition of insanity"
c'mon, that jd2015 achievement isn't that hard, only takes like 10 minutes

I relate to this one personally considering some of the achievements in Littlebigplanet require you to play the online mode and publish levels, but the servers were hacked and got taken down so it's no longer possible to get any of those achievements.
After I watch every single one of your videos, I can safely say I have 100% complete the Foekoe channel
Just wait for free content update and and onlyfans DLC
100% complete Markiplier's channel now
You gotta rematch them on 1.75x speed for the speedrun achievement
So you got all the akchievments?
BRO ive been grinding the moist critikal channel for years now but its starting to seem that its a live service kindof thing
As someone who has 100% Stardew Valley recently, I'd say the Craft Master Achievement was not as bad as some of the others. There aren't that many recipes in the game and there is an option in the settings that allows you to easily track your progress.
I can see it being painful for those who might've not planned for it properly. From the minute I started Stardew I knew I was going for all the achievements so I made sure to save every scrap of material I came across and kept an eye on crafting recipes that mightve been missable (like the recipe you get for collecting all rarecrows). Plus your going to be going for other stuff as you do this anyways
It really perplexes me that such a chill game with a very, very casual playerbase has an achievement for completing the brutal arcade game without dying once. doesnt really make sense lmao
@@FrazzleFlib the dev in an interview said they regretted making such a hard achievement. It got patched so you could sleep between days and it'll save your progress
getting the radioactive ore was so fucking tough, i had to wait for an hour or so for mr qi to give the right challenge then grind to get all the ore i need. other than that, it wasnt a bad experience
I was hoping you would mention TF2's unobtainable achievement: Getting 100k RUclips views on a gameplay clip. It used to be achievable, but the API that kept track of it doesn't work anymore, and probably never will.

"Why purify the world when you can just blow it up?"
Demolitionist-
I respect the achievement grind but after some time I realized I was the only person that cared about my own achievements. I still display the ones that were hard to get on my steam profile and that I put time and effort into, because they mean something special to me. I find it really hard to care about 100% though because I've started to respect my own time more, and the specific achievements that I care about are the only ones that mean anything to me, like Steel Heart in Hollow Knight or Nothing left to collect in Dead Cells. It took time and effort to get those and I display them because I am proud of it, but I don't think I would ever be proud of having achievements that are hard to get or time consuming but not really difficult.
Gotta say Everhood got some simple but good achievements. Most of them are for defeating enemies no hit. Some of them are really hard but they are fair.
Also I love how you pronounce achievements.
incinerator part II my behated
Idk, the achievements where you have to walk down a hallway for 4+ hours and jumproll 150,000 times are pretty monotonous.
What I'm trying to do is no hitting every single fight in Everhood to be able to put that 100% game completion on my profile

Hello Bro, I would like to make a custom animation for you, how can I contact you?

I honestly never look for achievements since I barely have time to play games to completion, but I love designing achievements myself.
I try to make my achievements consist half of rewards for you to keep playing the game, like finishing a chapter, and half of those that are an actual challenge you need to work for, like finding secrets or play the game with a handicap.
None require you to do something 1000 times, they require you to have fun with the game. I hope my way is good to make them enjoyable.
The best achievement aside from being fun is that it rewards you something in the game with a piece of fun mechanic you can toy around with.
it really bugs me how he says achievements as "akhchievements"
Fun fact: In the Stanley Parable UD, you can get the unachievable achievement.

I love the way Devil Daggers and Hyper Demon did achievements by having just one extremely hard achievement. Keeping the theme of everything being simple yet challenging

I really feel this with grinding on ace combat 7 taking forever to get the last multiplayer achievement when the game has a dead multiplayer and it’s on the mode almost no one plays.
My favourite achievement in game history is from the stanley parable ultra deluxe.
I forgot the name of it but the requirements were: ‘Play the stanley parable for the entire duration of a Tuesday’
Yep, the whole day it must be open, it’s so ridiculously random it’s hilarious

i love how this is techincally a collab because of madz screaming "Brain Training!" even though that is his entire role in the video
Fokoe when he has to achieve something great to get an "akchievement" in a game
At least with Terraria's fishing achievement you can do it over multiple playthroughs
The achievement for A Little To The Left reminds me of the Daily Reid achievement in Bloons TD 6, which is to do 365 daily challenges
4:03 Поезд сделал бум
Here's another solid example for broken achievements, and funnily enough it's about Team Fortress 2. In-game there's, not one, but *four* achievements that require you to use TF2's replay feature, which isn't just buggy as hell nowadays but also completely impossible outside of cheating considering for some reason Team Fortress 2 cannot integrate with RUclips anymore.
I respect you going for the extra achievements in a over total of 90 games! I usually just ignore that shit lmao.
sometimes it amazes me how someone can be so dedicated to videogames... not even a single game i mean just in general. like i have a few games that i play regularly and im semi good at them but those games that peak my interest and absorb almost all my free time after a while i inevitably get bored of it and start playing it less and less. i just couldn't FATHOM the idea of how much time and fucking effort it takes to be so incredibly skilled at so many videogames like foekoe is like oh my god. and this is coming from someone who is definitely an avid videogame player i mean its paratactically literally all i talk about irl and online really.
11:40 I would argue craft master in Stardew Valley isn't that bad, it took me a while to get it, sure, but it does actually feel fairly engaging and interesting collecting things you might not normally care about to make things you haven't made before. It's not like you're doing the same thing over and over like a lot of other achievements of that nature.
the fact that you made a dead rising video, love dead rising and know alot about dead rising and still thought " i should go for 7 day survivor" is the dumbest and bravest thing i have ever seen someone do
man what a good video on "The Art Of Video Game Ackchievements" masterfully done foekoe.
Getting an achievement feels as good as my dad being proud of me 🥹
im so glad Foekoe made this video because i have a weird hyperfixation on getting as much achievements as i can and i get sad when a game doesnt have any achievements
GOOD achievements are ones that teach you about the game... SOME of TeamFortress2's achievements are like this:
"use airblast to extinguish a teammate" COOL.
"Rocketjump very high" TF is a rocketjump *googles it*... OH COOL!
"Use an uber to bodyblock an enemy uber" NEAT, nice strat
"Use jarate/madmilk to extinguish a teammate" neat didn't know that would work.
"Heal an engy while they repair a sentry", makes sense... heal engy so he doesn't die, so the sentry doesn't die. TEAM WORK!
And then there's some bad achievements:
"Headshot all 9 classes in a single game with the arguably worst sniperrifle in the game" NO!.
"As pyro use axe to kill 3/6 ppl in a SINGLE life" That doesn't teach me anything and rewards the Enemyteam with my suicidal melee tendencies.
"Kill 1 MILLION robots" Do you enjoy watching me suffer?
I wish that were more videos about people sharing their expriences on vídeo game achievements
The GW 2 one hit me personally, I only have 2 achievements left to 100% the game, and those are the Boss battle specialist and Boss battle Boss.
Pain.
Also side note: The Mistery Portal is still active monthly, but the events that are required for the achievements aren't, and the community challenges are dead
there is never been a more relatable comment in the entire history of RUclips
Darktide - "Going out with a Bang" - as a psycher, on Malice difficulty or higher, kill 3 elite enemy units in a single perils of the warp explosion.
>Perils is a very bad thing. It automatically downs your character.
>Your explosion has a radius of 5 meters.
>It does 500 damage.
>The average elite enemy has 1,200 health.
>They are also surrounded by lesser minions.
>The best way to achieve this is to have 3 allies all help you get it by clearing the dregs while deliberately not shooting the elites (bad idea) then *carefully* wounding them before your psycher runs up and self-destructs by purposely burning themselves with warp overcharging.
There’s one achievement in battlefield 1 where you need to roadkill someone in any naval vessel, but the maps dedicated with naval ships aren’t picked too often and even if you do get one, a swimming soldier is as common as finding 100 dollars on the streets
0:18 holy shit a fidget spinner
and some achivents serve kinda like a check-list like "you know you can do thos really cool thing?"
Yup. This summarized quite well how just I feel about certain "achievements" in games. As much as at least *some* of them can be justified that "Hey, at least a small % of the players definitely would do something like this, and if there wasn't some kind of trophy for it, they would feel kind of robbed"(like let's say clearing the world of corruption in terraria. And no I'm not saying that this achievement definitely should be a thing, but I'm saying this one can be at least somewhat justified, unlike certain others)... achievements that are repetitive, boring-ass braindead grind-fest, something that ain't "fun and engaging" nor test your skill in any way, is just... exactly that, not a fun, cool thing to include, it's not satisfying to get, it's nothing but a dumb annoying total time-waster.
Why am I saying all this, idk, I'm lonely.
Fall Guys I accidentally/unintentionally cheesed infallable when playing sweet thieves with some friends. It was basically a single round "cops and robbers" gamemode and with some coordination it's pretty easy to win, so we ended up getting the achievement not realizing side shows counted towards it
I usually don't bother with most achievements in videogames mostly because there's ALWAYS that one that is
"Literally scavenge the world for every single collectable, even the absurdly hard to find ones that you need a guide"
"Do some obscure thing like say a random phrase"
"Meet the creator"
"Play *10,000* matches"
Like do you want an achievement that's an actual mastery of the game, or one that's just grinding a shit ton.
Speaking of GW2 I think a bit earlier of when this video released people who play the game started a thing called save GW2 mostly because the servers were mostly because the servers were down so you had to play a private match. But it was still cool to see

7 Day Survivor would be bearable if you could save your game. Keep the perma death and wipe the save file the moment you die for all I care, I just can’t dedicate a full 14-hours of nonstop playing.
And that doesn’t even consider the possibility of freezing/crashing. Not only can Infinity Mode crash in specific areas at specific times (there’s a guide somewhere online that documents this), but keep in mind that Dead Rising was originally an early Xbox 360 title, and many of those older consoles were prone to stuff like overheating

dusk, he literally made a video on it
The world corruption cleanse achievement from Terraria was added BECAUSE players asked for it. And imo it is perfect as the last challenge for the player and puts to the use the endgame stuff, which makes it significantly easier
Have you heard of this game called “kill it with fire” it has some pretty good achievements that I has lots of fun doing, they do have a few that make you collect everything but it’s super easy because you can get unlockables that just tell you where everything is, then there’s wacky challenges such as 360 no scoping a spider with an assault rifle, unlocking the full power of the shoe, and breaking every single… dish… in the game.
Don’t forget the Stanley parable achievement where you have to play the game for the entire duration of a Tuesday
the best achievements are obviously the ones that are just letters from a two dollar game so you can put them on your steam achievement showcase to spell something out
seeing the little notification card in the bottom right for getting an achievement is a dopamine hit like no other

the sucess for stanley parable "unachivable" is achivable and it has to do with repairing the machin and i think its when you start the game and you have to interact with the text box stuff and for the trouble you get the succes

I think that the best achievments are the ones you won't even know are achievments, you just do something for the sake of yourself, and then realise ,,oh cool, i got an achievment''
My best example is hollow knight, if when you met grubfather, you would get a big ,,2/43 grubs collected'' then it would seem like a chore to do, but nothing like that happened, you just kept rescuing grubs for the sake of cool rewards and making the grubs happy, and when you get all of them, the achievment is more of a cool bonus.
In fall guys the other modes also count for infallible, so you can do a different mode where victory is way easier which makes the achievement a pushover
man i really think you have outdone yourself with this video with that editing and everything
Grinding for achievements can range between an enjoyable and rewarding experience to complete utter mental torment.
In C&C Generals there is that one tiny achievement where you have to beat ever skirmish map against bots
And you have always to put the maximum amount of them for every map , and they should all be on hard difficulty , that mean you have to be 1 v 7 and win , that crap is impossible
I love little nightmares achievements because it feeds my childish mind. Its so satisfying to figure it out yourself! for instance the medicine ball achievement or the highly sprung achievement, I wanted to do it and was randomly awarded an achievement! it makes me want to 100% it
and then they throw hard to the core at me…
I love hearing you say Ack-chievement it’s great
10:19 when I heard that it just made me ball my eyes out of laughter this shit is actually so ridiculous it’s making me go insane
achieving Dead God in isaac is amazing because once you get it, you can finally start to play the game!
"Farewell is a fun level"
God no.
Do i even need to talk about Muck achievements. There are achievements like Muckinator 4 where you kill 250,000 enemies. Or maybe Sweat and Tears where you have to beat the game with 8 people in your party but no one can take damage in the difficulty normal or harder. AND also the achievement Muck where you beat the game without taking damage BUT you can only use the worst weapon in the game. A rock.
One of my personal favourote set of achievements is the in game achievements for kid icraus uprising that ask you to beat each chapter on the highest difficulty without dying once, with a specific weapom type. It encourages trying and really learning all the weapons each for specific levels so you learn really well certain interactions.
Also the xenoblade 1 achievement for falling off the bionis its funny especially in the context of when it is first possible.
