    The Crow: Amazing. A+
The Crow: City of Angels: Could've been MUCH better(seriously read the original script before the producers messed with it)but still okay. B-
    The Crow: Salvation: meh. C
The Crow: Wicked Prayer: Only has one good use. Wiping my ass with it but sadly I have City of angels, salvation, and wicked prayer on one disc so if I did I would be wiping my ass with two meh movies.

@Chris Conley i assume the book adaptation came from some of those deleted scenes. It was neat to hear the backstory for the villains. It makes sense now why ash was so gentle and caring to curve that didn't make much sense the way the characters were developed in the film.

I saw this movie with a friend and you are right, it is one of those it's so bad it's good. I used to work at a video rental store (those were the days) and I picked this movie hoping it would be good and invited my friend to see it. We laughed at the atrocity of this film. It was so bad, we literally rewinded back to a few scenes just rewitness what we saw. We couldn't believe this film was made, let alone getting these capable actors for the parts and it was just terrible. I remember reading Tito Ortiz's autobiography and he said he read the script and he thought the script was terrible and with Danny Trejos advice on taking the part, he took it and....well...he sucked. I hope this new Crow film will be good, but it seems like this is one franchise that can never get it right.

Having purchased and screened all four Crow movies, prior to 2020 I'd never seen Wickex Prayer (2005) First, I'll start with what was GOOD: Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage was cast perfectly in this movie as the film was set on an Indian Reservation. If you're not familiar with some of Chriqui's other work, she plays Sloan McQuewick in HBO's Entourage. She was Eric Murphy's on and off again love and I think the only woman who EVER turned down sex with Vincent Chase which solidifies her as a "Unicorn." Edward Furlong didn't do too bad of a job acting wise because "John Connor." OK, the BAD: David Boreanaz wasn't threatening like Michael Wincott, Richard Brooks or Fred Ward was. I think the Director caught Boreanaz right after "Angel" (1999-2004) but before "Bones" (2005-2017). He came off more comical than threatening. And yes, the fight choreography was terrible.
Lol, caught your review on both City Of Angels (1996) and Salvation (2000). I laughed when you said you threw things at your TV when watching Wicked Prayer. Didn't catch your review on The Crow (1994), didn't need to. That movie was PERFECT.

I know late the party here but well done sir. Listen I'm a big Crowd 3 fan, as far as Crow sequels go, and while I didn't agree with everything in your review of that...dude you were fair AF! I can't hate even if I disagree with some shit, it's refreshing such idk "fair" reviews like that, cause you don't come in wanting to hate or finding petty reasons too, respect. That said this review is amazing. I always put Crow 1, 3, and 2 in my preference order. This film doesn't register because wow. Everything you said about it is correct. Plus how do you get Dennis Hopper and literally none of his scenes are good/fun? By the by back in the day in the early 2000s in H.S. I remember talks of a Crow film with DMX as the Crow and Eminem I guess as the anti Crow!? Was a weird AF rumor that honestly...I'd watch that over Wicked Prayer lol ever heard of this or was this just some nonsense rumor that came and went forgotten to time? Probably tbh 😂

I liked this iteration of the Crow. The silliness makes it comedic that's not a bad thing, maybe it wasn't unintentional lol. Maybe they were just having fun with the script and being goofy on purpose. And honestly I think that one scene where he goes up to the black guy in the car with the crow on his shoulder, he looked pretty cool in that at least.

I actually disagree with you on one thing: its score. I thought some of the music was actually pretty haunting sounding. The rest of the movie is a complete blur. I think I watched it when I was a teenager and it was still fairly new, and it was one of the most excruciating movie viewings I've ever had. It made City Of Angels look competent.

They pissed all over the legacy of the late great Dennis Hopper with that God awful " The devil and his shorty!" Line. In the first film, the bad guys are terrified like hell by Eric. In Wicked Prayer they sit relaxed at the same table with Jimmy, laughing at him. And he is supposed to be the same thing as Eric: a raised from the dead vengeful!!! LOOOOL
But then again, can you blame them? He IS laughable, like the movie in general.
PS. Ed Furlong. From T2 to TC:WP. Poor guy.

No lie first reading this I realized how stupid the whole idea is.. he's supposed to be the symbol of fear yet he sits down and has a convo with them and the crow is shot within maybe less than 30 minutes of him going out for revenge.. what a joke lmao. The fact they had one of the wimpiest guys ever in Furlong makes it worse.
If David B had been the Crow then who knows maybe it would be more watchable.

Hi, how are you? I was searching for The Crow movie reviews and I found your channel.
As for me I love The Crow, the story is fantastic and Brandon Lee (RIP) nailed it as Eric Draven/The Crow. I had the opportunity to meet James OBarr in a comic convention a few months ago and it was awesome, I talked a little bit with him and hes a very nice person. About the sequels, I like City Of Angels more, I know that its not very good but it has very cool moments, Salvation not bad and Wicked Prayer well I only saw it once and remembered that its bad but not that bad, I guess that I need to see it again. Thats great that you are a horror fan, my favorite slasher movies is Friday The 13th, Im big fan of Jason Voorhees. Im from Mexico, my questions will be do you like foreign movies? and have you saw the Hatchet franchise, I bought recently the second one and it was very entertaining.

That must've been cool to meet O'Barr. He's always been really cool with the fans from what I've seen. I love foreign horror, but there's a lot I haven't seen. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Hatchet films, but I've only seen them once. I need to give them another try. The Halloween franchise is my favorite. Thanks for watching!

I finally watched this movie today with my mom and we did enjoy it but boy it has a lot of problems tho and I will get into it and Jimmy Cuervo played by Edward Furlong he did a great job as this character role and he was very good as the crow in this movie and he was awesome for role and he was badass as this character too and I didn’t mind him as this character role tho but that’s just me though and Lola Byrd played by Tara Reid she did a great job as a side character villain role in this film and she was awesome for this role and she was badass as this character too and she is so incredibly sexy as hell Lee bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a huge fan of her now love her to death man and Luc Crash/ Death/Satan played by David Boreanez he did a great job as the main villain role for this movie and he was awesome for this role and he was badass as this character role too and Lilly played by Emmanuelle Chriqui she did a great job in this movie role but she was barley in this film though but she still did a great job when she was on screen tho and it was nice to see her in this movie role too and she is so incredible sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a huge fan of her love her to death man and Harold played by Danny Trejo he did a great job in this movie role and I was surprised he was actually in this movie role too and he was great for this character role too and Farmine played by Tito Ortiz he did a good job as one of the villains in this movie and he was so good for this role and he was awesome as this character too and War played by Marcus Chong he did a great job as one of the villains in this movie and he was awesome for this role and he was badass as this character too and I was surprised he was actually in this movie too and finally El Niño played by Dennis Hopper he did a great job too but he was barley in this movie though but he still did a great job when he was on screen tho and it was nice to see him in this movie role too and can’t believe it’s been 19 years now since this movie came out now and next year it will be the 20th Anniversary when this movie was released back then and that’s insane it’s been that long ago now and I was 10 years old when this movie came out and I was in 5th grade at the time and I sure do missed those good old classic days back then and time sure does flies in the movie world that’s for damn sure Lee and overall I’m gonna give The Crow 4 Wicked Prayer (2005) a 7.5/10 stars i really did enjoyed this movie for what it was but could of been little bit better if it had some sexual nudity for a change and have the movie be little bit longer too and didn’t not like the ending that much either but that’s just me though in my opinions and thoughts on this movie Drumdums brother bro

I remember watching a making of doc done on Set on here a few years back and it was.. so, so oblivious to how bad the movie was. They thought they were making a classic.. even Furlong admitted he wanted to "pay tribute to Brandon" with his performance.. ugh. This whole movie was only done as a rights keeper pretty much much like the later Hellraiser films but it says a lot that this one was so bad it killed it's own series while Pinhead kept going... yikes.

Nothing is as bad as The Room. I'm gonna pass on this one...When John Connor is The Crow, you know it's a bad movie. Why did Dennis Hopper agree to do this? Looks like Tara Reid was drunk in those scenes. They could have just paid a bunch of B movie actors to do it. Is this the last Crow film?

I remember buying this piece of s*** the week it came out right around the time I turned 17. I didn't even know they made it- I just saw it in the new release section of the old media store I went to, so I came back a few days later when I had some spare cash to grab it. The best part was the dude at the counter was a bit older than me and told me he had seen the original in theaters, and that he watched "Wicked Prayer" the night before. He pretty much just laughed and said "Don't get your hopes up." I should have taken his warning and just not bought it.
I think I got about 15 minutes in that night, shut it off, and didn't finish it until months later, and only then just out of morbid curiosity with some friends. Only watched it one other time, and that was because I wanted to count all the mistakes in it for laughs, because there were so many and they were so obvious. I ended up loading up the movie mistakes website while I was watching it, and ended up submitting something like 150 mistakes for it, haha. (Which are mostly still there, haha.)
Whenever people talk about how they think the reboot is a disgrace or that it's dishonoring Brandon Lee, I always like to bring up "Wicked Prayer." Not only have about 99% of people never heard of it, but it did far more damage to the integrity of the series than any reboot ever could as far as I'm concerned.

    • @MaximumMadnessStixon
      @MaximumMadnessStixon 6 лет назад

What kills me though is that the only other movie the director made was this weird 90's indie B-movie called "Six String Samurai", which was actually really, really fun and creative and basically everything "Wicked Prayer" was not.

Yea I rewatched this again tonight I still feel the same city of angels worst of the 5 existing movies we have right now this is just a step above city of angels the problem is they were going back to a sub story from the Brandon lee movie with Tara Reid wanting to take the eyes of the girl from entourage who is Edwards lover and they were supposed to do the four horse men make biggest problem is they do absolutely nothing with the best plots of the movie and the camera messes up a lot this is the most comedic and the thing that works best about this movie that makes me enjoy is the crow is an Indian tribal Indian animal god they did really good with that and the casting was perfect but it went all over the place salvation is still the best the TV movie is the second best then it’s the Brandon lee movie then this then city of angels after re watching all 5 movies my list has not changed a bit I’m excited to see where I place the bill movie

I remember liking all 3 of the others, even though they got progressively worse(soundtrack for the 3rd was cool though), and couldn't wait for this one to come out. On dvd. I bought it, and watched it, and....well.....I couldn't believe how bad it was, lol...Furlong looked like a malnourished drag queen, stumbling around in daddy's trenchcoat and boots, trying to earn that paycheck, and I remember reading before this movie came out that David Boreanaz said that he was about to star in the "part 4" of a movie series, but wouldn't reveal what it was, and people were guessing it was either Jurassic Park or a Fantastic Four sequel. No wonder he didn't want to say what it was, lol....you could tell he was WAY hamming it up here, probably because he knew it was terrible, so why the heck not:)

    • @DrumdumsMovieReviews

Ever heard of the TV series they made in the late 90's? It's called The Crow : Stairway To Heaven. I have the complete series on DVD & It's basically a continuation of the Eric Draven character that delves deeper into the mythology of the crow itself. Even though it's just a cheesy adaptation of a cult classic that The Crow was, it's still very interesting and entertaining enough. It's like watching a supernatural version of Walker Texas Ranger if that makes sense lol. Eric Draven is portrayed by martial artist Mark Dacascos and he looks almost exactly like Brandon Lee in makeup. The show was what it was but I still liked it regardless. It was only 2 seasons long, so it was very short. You don't have to do a review on it but I recommend you track it down online wherever it's still sold and give it a watch. Here is the intro of that very show.

I actually loved the 2nd one mostly since the setting made it stand out from the rest interesting. Which is why Rob Zombie's crow movie in the future also got me interested until it got dropped. With a archetype like the crow that is one note by dimension, there is not much you can do wit the character.

How do these people care so little? This seems like it was made just to retain the rights to the franchise. If that was indeed the case, congratulations Dimension Films, you managed to keep the rights and kill the franchise at the same time. I'm sure it was worth it.
