The old PCC was fun with a mix of ovals and 40m and 60m races.
Believe it or not, the Street Stock at Ruds was a community (forum) thing, not iRacing, lol. I was trying out being the CM at the time, and threw out a road course race as a suggestion, and folks wanted to do the new track, lol. Thanks Griffin for your positive review of the race also, surprised me that people actually got behind the idea, and that the car ran so well there.
Rudskogen in SS was great. Series needs more road courses.
I loved this combo, it should come back
It gives a bit of a Nordic Folkracing-style feel, I ran in a league that did SS on road courses a few years ago and it was a good laugh. Oval cars on road courses in basically any form is always fun I think, Trucks, Xfinity, Super Lates have probably been some of the most fun I've ever had on iRacing.
The answer is always "FOR THE MEME". I miss the days when PCC would run ovals. I remember racing Atlanta, Homestead and Daytona.
Atlanta Roval and Atlanta Oval back to back weeks was just pure MEMES 🤣
Rudskogen in the street stocks was awesome. The track is amazing and the racing was really good. There were some damn fast guys in those races too.
The crazy stuff that we were able to do during my time as a CM in PCC was amazing. USA (it was PCC, not MCup), Concord, Tsukuba, and more are very fond memories of mine.
That particular race actually MCup interestingly enough. You can see on the UI at the end of Kneebon’s video
@@DJYeeJay Interesting, we got yelled at by staff pretty hard, so I didn't realize someone else tried to sneak that type of stuff in there 😂
Tsukuba 1000 might make iots comeback to the PCC next season, 3 out of the 4 choices that people have to vote for include the track but no specific layout. Also, 1 of those 3 choices also includes Monza Junior, if case you also like that one
Today I learned that Tsukuba has more than the one Track that is in pretty much every game by now. I mean, I did know that they have a shorter configuration of it and added a optional chicane, but I never knew so far that they have a entire 2nd Track, and by the looks of it even a 3rd track that they list as Tsukuba Oval.
Garrett Griffin was the mastermind behind the PCC racing on ovals I believe when he used to make the schedules and honestly they were pretty fun
Let's not forget the BEST Oval that PCC ever ran officially: Concord Speedway 😂
Bruhhhhhh what?! 😂
@David Cologgi yeah!! In 2019, PCC ran a 25 minute race at Concord Speedway. I ended up doing 89 laps in the Mustang 😂
I wish I was around for that
I wish I was around for that
One of the wildest and best combos. PCC on big ovals is okay, But cutting through Jettas, Slowstice and MX-5s for 25min, now that's an entertaining race.
I remember back in October 2020, the Supercars Series went to Le Mans - that was pretty…interesting
Rudskogen Street Stocks was a BLAST!
I so love these unknown fact type videos. Never seen Mazdas at USA before, lol. The brake lights would be different.
Mazdas at USA lol that is hilarious, had no idea that went official. And another crazy thing about racing at that Las Vegas track, it has slowdown penalties on both sides that are really easy to get for just slightly going off haha. It made pushing out wide on the front stretch to open up entry to turn 1 very tricky lol
The track itself doesn’t even want to be raced haha
I like how the runoff on part of that Vegas oval is just a chainlink fence. You'd be half looking out for a kid chasing a basketball across the track during the race.
I can agree that Street Stocks at Rudskogen was sruprisingly fun to race. Cool to see the Tsukuba Circuit - 1000 Outer make the list. I had replay files, not videos, for two of those races, if those would have helped, but I had no contact info so not sure how you would have asked.
Off topic, the wierd pit lane for the Las Vegas Infield reminded me of how terrible the pit lane access for [Legacy] Silverstone Circuit - 2008 - Southern is, another track that the Production Car Challenge raced in 2020. The paved access is a narrow right-angle left turn at the end of a long straight and has to be taken at very low speed to avoid getting an off-track incident. The graphic found in track info is very misleading to how pit access actually looks. Good luck dodging any unfortunate cars that have to enter the pits.
Pcc at Atlanta oval was crazy the side force from the mustangs would put the jettas in the wall
Class C street stock at Rudskogen should be mandatory
Lmaoooo I raced in screen to speed for $15k cash prize at LVMS infield course in nextgen cars. Highly recommend you try it out haha
iRacing should allow user-created fictional tracks.
I wanna import GTA custom created races into iracing
For real, it'd be cool to have some sort of map editor SDK for iR. I know they're uber-proprietary with how any part of the service works and whatnot, but it's got me daydreaming nevertheless. If Live For Speed can allow user-created car mods to be made after existing for over 20 years, I feel like anything is possible eventually lol.
That's what Assetto Corsa is for. Our "King of the Hill" Wed Night Series for Triple Bypass Racing runs one Assetto Corsa race mid-season to do the race we want to do in iRacing, but can't.
This season, it's going to be the '71 NASCAR Stock cars at Riverside. ruclips.net/video/echlFkQzzMo/видео.html
@@JonathonBarton Aw, YT is stupidly hiding your comment unless I sort by new, probably because of the link (to a video on their own site..) Cool idea though.
Tsukuba Circuit - 1000 Outer did count for the Road license. I ran several of the official races that week. One of them also had NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series driver Ryan Vargas in a Jetta. Vargas got dumped before we even reached the start-finish line unfortunately.
I’ve driven Tsukuba 1000 a bunch in real life, it’s never run as the “oval” but I’ve skipped through the cones a few times to try it 😂. When drifting is run there the course is run backwards so I’ve driven the oval both ways!
This season had the PCC go to Monza oval with no chicanes and it was WILD. The cars weren't that far off on pace as they were all top speed locked so Toyotas and Renaults were basically the same pace. Probs the best combo I've seen
Buena hermano, saludos desde Chile!
Perhaps you should do a hosted race for subscribers, on some crazy combo.
I've done Radicals at Charlotte oval three times, which actually worked surprisingly well. We did it with the SR8s, but it would make even more sense with the SR10's.
Idk if anything can top out Gen 4 @ mid ohio alt oval race
@@DJYeeJay Well if you organise an event in the Gen 4 on Mid Ohio Alt oval race and it fits into my schedule, I'll join :)
PCC at Old Atlanta a while ago was so much fun lmao
2020 season 4 week 8 for reference
Tsukuba 1000 has some more fun layouts than the outer ring.
I remember the Las Vegas and the Tsukuba ones.
Some other stupid ones were Street Stock at Texas road course and the Sim-Lab production series at Homestead. I think Indycar also was at Dover once as well.
lol Twin Ring west feels right for me because i cant remember which game it was, i think Forza 4 (maybe GT)? It was one of the most common early races.
Funny how you put the MX-5 doesn't do ovals anymore but we now have a MX-5 Martinsville special event.
I raced several times that week in the sk mod races, got a win after the leaders took each other out lol
Tsukuba 1000 chicane is the weirdest track I’ve ever raced
That Tsukuba one is a memory I always wonder if was real. lol
I remember back in around 2019/2020 (can't remember) when production car did a week at Concord...it went about as well as you'd expect.
Fun fact: I was the lowest iRating car, in the slowest car, and I won the race overall...and that was my first "road" win. lol
Yoooo you went to my city! That's awesome!
thats where I live shhhhh
i remember mazdas at usa speedway good times lmao
las vegas infield being shaped like a tombstone.. coincidence?? 🤔
As odd as it sounds, I would love to see a race on the Nordschleife in the NASCAR Next Gen. I know it will probably never happen, but I've been doing time trials with a modified setup from either Watkins Glen or COTA. I'll be posting the video of the clean lap once I figure out a good setup.
Never Forget Centripetal Circuit
Hype
Hope you enjoy Chile 😂, it's kinda nice here
This season gt challege did the first official race at autoclub competition
street stock on rudskogen was terrible haha
Do you know if the Legacy Charlotte Infield Road Course was ever official? I raced there in my league using VW Jetta's and it was weird but fun just testing, just wondering if you'd use that in the future if you did, it's only like 1 groove
2:54 explain this without bullying me, why is the rpm gauge at such a weird angle?
If it was right side up the important revs would be hidden behind the wheel
@@DJYeeJay alright thanks
Oval racing is all I do. Brake lights would be bad.
Pffft taxes smaxes.
The Las Vegas legends oval feels a lot like Oxford plains in my opinion just another flat small circular little nothing
Because you used the content for your channel, I hope you wrote off your flight from the IRS on your taxes 😂
Was a company write off to begin with… double dipping time?!?
After 14+ years on iRacing if it is weird I will run it just for something new. Which was the main reason I put Twin Ring West on the schedule over the others. Sure the others would have provided better "road" racing, but I still think Twin Ring West provided way better "whatever" racing than we have had on any other road track. Obviously it will never be back on the schedule, but found an opportunity to put it on there and went with it. A bit like Homestead Roval, we hardly get to use that, its a great track, so use it as a reuse and have some fun (even though I didn't end up racing there)
I liked both those races a lot more than I thought i would. Both easily beat when we ran Indy bike a couple years back
@@DJYeeJay yeah that track was not fun, about as bad as the new road course there
Omg the Dubby car
Can someone explain what is "autoblip"?
It’s a shifting assist where by only pressing the shift paddle, the car automatically clutches and shifts.
@@DJYeeJay thanks
Wena compare, lo saluda un conchetumare desde Santiago, Chile. (Hi! Greetings from Santiago, Chile)
