Agreed. The balance of offense and defense; running and passing was unmatched in the 80’s. It was a time when scoring was up from the 70’s but still not easy.

I remember this game. The Cowboys were still a SB condender. I was in the 4th grade (10 yrs old)The only time my parents let me watch football on Monday night(when I was Elementary age)was if Dallas was playing. Admittedly, the Bills had them on the ropes in the first half. But it was all Dallas in the 3rd and then played clock in the 4th. Another reason I got to stay up and watch was because I had the flu and wound up staying home from school that whole week. This game helped cure what was ailing me. Loved the announcing trio. RIP Cosell, Gifford, and Dandy Don

Danny White only put it up 17 times, completing 9 but for 220 yards and 3 TDs. Efficiency and a lethal running game. 37 interceptions for Dallas that year. 37! Absolutely unheard of today.

I became a Cowboys fan around the same time, but I was a tad younger and about to play my first year of Pop Warner, in the Mighty Might division! Hahahaha
It was 81 I do believe because I was 9
I always tried modeling my uniform as much as I could like Tony Dorsett! That was and still is today my football hero. I never got to play tailback or wear ther number 33, but everything else I could try and match him with, I did.
I sliced my chinstrap and fed my mouthpiece, which was identical to his, through it, .just like he did. He also switched up shoulder pads after the 82 season. He went to a bigger and broader size, so naturally I switched to a bigger size, mine looked ridiculous on me though, hahahaha! Coaches weren't having it after 2 or 3 weeks, made me switch back. Dorsett wore a Riddell helmet, even though Bike was the WAY MORE comfortable helmet to wear in comparison to Riddell, I had to have the Riddell, and the same exact facemask he wore. He wore the same style almost every year up until his last year in Dallas, even he put on the facemask Emmitt Smith wore throughout his career
      Love these old Cowboys games
They take me back to when life was so simple i'm comparing to now
      Go Cowboys

I remember this game, it was -for me- the turning tide for the Buffalo Bills, from being a hot team to a "just missed" team. The Bills was far superior to Cowboys in the first half, but just manage to build up an advantage of 14-7, and then the Bills collapse in second half. The same to QB Joe Ferguson, he arrived as one of the top rated QB in the NFL, with 19 TD's and 9 Int's, and in the rest of the season he he throws 5 TD's and 11 Int's. I was so thrilled with the first half Bills, a team that have little to none mass coverage, their uniforms were absolute beautiful. I missed all those players like Ferguson, White, Cribbs, Dorsett, Butler, Pearson, R. White, Haslett, etc. Both great teams, thank you for share this one!

Idk .. the Bills did lose next game too , but then won 4 straight after that to finish out year.
Beat the JETS in the Wild Card before losing a close game in 2nd round vs the Bengals.
Seems like they kept it going pretty well , but I didn’t actually witness the season and I do know how a “mood” can change with a particular high profile loss.

Had the Cowboys been in the AFC, they would have gone to the SB. They lost by ONE point to the Niners - in SF - in the championship game. That was on the lucky catch by Dwight Clark.
I'll never understand why teams fired Chuck Knox. He turned bad teams into playoff teams everywhere he went.
