I’ve been a die hard FOGHAT fan since 1974… to this day, NO ONE has or ever will compare to these guys. Lo Dave’s passionate vocals wearing his heart on his sleeve… Rod “the bottle” Price, the best damn slide player ever; Tone Steven’s classic backbone lyrical bass playing AND the best dressed man and rock ‘n’ roll! And last, but not least, there’s Roger Earl; the glue that has held it all together for over 50 years. Roger is still carrying the flame! God bless him. And rest in peace to the three other legends. This is the stuff that legends are made of. When FOGHAT invited all of their blues hero’s to MSG in 1977, I was BLOWN AWAY! I didn’t see Zeppelin or Clapton or Aerosmith or ANY other so-called rock ‘n’ roll
blues legends paying their respects like FOGHAT did. Hats off to FOGHAT! The greatest goddamn rock ‘n’ roll, blues band, the world will ever know. 👍

I've always liked Foghat being a kid growing up in the 70's and hearing them on the radio, but I became even more appreciative of them after I discovered Savoy Brown within the last few years. Foghat had tons of groove and soul. Stevens and Earl were an excellent rhythm section. Price could wail on six-string and Lonesome Dave was one of the best British blues shouters of all time. Great, great singer. They really had it goin' on. An authentic band and a clear case of "they don't make bands like that anymore".

Lonesome Dave lived to rock, great singer and guitarist. Rod Price was a fantastic guitarist, with or without a slide. This might be Rod's best non-slide work on RUclips. Tony Stevens was an outstanding bass player, didn't hide in the shadows but rocked out front with Dave and Rod. Roger Earl killed on drums and he and Rod sported the best mustaches in rock history as well! WTF was the deal with the audience?? Did they pass out Qualudes at the door?

Absolutely agree, and although Charlie Huhn doing a reasonable job on the vocals, no-one could possibly replace Dave and do him justice. A great example is his vocals on Midnight Madness. I would love to hear anyone cover that song and match Lonesome Daves version. Such a hard song to sing

THESE VIDEO-CLIPS of Foghat are from ABC's "In Concert" series -, and are specifically from a series of episodes aired during the Summer of 1974 which were recorded at the Rainbow Theater in London, England. According to my research, this particular episode was first broadcast in the U.S. on July 5th of 1974. ~ Personally, I REALLY WISH that all of the video-clips from the ABC's "In Concert" series which are posted on RUclips, would be included on some clearly-named "RUclips 'play-list' "; since as-it-stands, many of those classic "In Concert" clips can only be discovered on a "hit-or-miss" basis. Of course, even this this particular one makes no mention of the TV series in its title.

I loved this line-up, I first got to see them on their RR Outlaws tour, they had Nick Jameson as their bassist who was their record producer, I wished Tony Stevens would have been up there but Nick is a good bassist as you know he did the Slow Ride album. But I got to see this line up with Tony on bass 1994. It's just not the same with Dave and Rod gone. But this band was great live. And I did see them on the Slow Ride with Craig MacGregor on bass, he was a good addition. RIP Dave, Rod, and Craig. By the way, Roger Earl is a great guy, he gave me a pair of his drum sticks with his name on them. I still have one.
