Lonesome Dave just seems like the consummate professional. He sings and plays his heart out no matter how small the gig. Always willing to do any interview and do anything the band or label need regardless of how he's feeling.
If you have not seen the original lineup, your life is slightly incomplete. They nearly brought the freaking house down in Denver one night. Just amazing.
Foghat started iny nans kitchen lol where Dave interviewed rod price to be in his band starting up . This was in London many year ag . Dave was my uncle married to my aunt Linda .
Foghat never gets the recognition they so rightly deserve. They were honoring the Blues Masters way before it became fashionable. They got a lot of these older guys PAID by covering their tunes. They put their own special boogie spin on several of the forgot masters of the Delta Blues. Rod Price was just a freakin' dynamo on guitar.
This was actually recorded at in November 1974 at January Sound Studios in Dallas and was originally broadcast on KZEW in Dallas. This off-air capture is from a rebroadcast on WPLR in New Haven CT.
I saw them at TCCC, as well. it was a three-bsnd bill. BTO, as they were then, was the middle band, and the opening band was a little band called judas priest. I didnt think they were very good back then. I remember the singer's (halford) shrieks and their 30-minute set sounding like one long song. When priest finished, they emran offstage for about five seconds and then came running back for their encode thst nobody wanted. They were booed. This was '77 or '78? Foghst was fantastic. Rod Price is so underrated.

always love them, caught them on Tv a lot, Energized is my fav. They really still have the magic, all four original members reunited on the very last tour with Dave, we met all four after a gig in San Jose CA. Steven gave me his Plectrum... Rod was on fire with his slide work...

It's a NO BRAINER that Foghat should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame but it shouldn't surprise us because the folks that decide this have NO BRAINS; particularly when you look at some of the bands/artists that got in, many who aren't even real "Rock n Roll" bands. Foghat was a "REAL Rock n Roll band" that toured on the road like no other band during their time. If there's a better LIVE rock band than Foghat please let me know? I've probably seen close to a hundred of the best bands during the late 70's 80's and into the 90's and I saw Fogat more than any other band because they gave a live performance that was simply unmatched, which alone is a reason they should be inducted! Fogat was without a doubt one of the very best live rock bands ever! And the stuff they produced in the studio sounds amazing as well. Their music was so unique... What a shame they aren't in! Guys, RIP... real fans know your greatness and maybe some day the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame braintrust will wake up!

The photo does not accurately portray the 1974 Foghat...which was at that time still the original "Lonesome" Dave Peverett, Tony Stevens, Rod Price & Roger Earl...what you are showing is a later incarnation with Craig MacGregor on bass, who replaced Tony, which was around 1976....."Fool For The City" era...also WPLR is a radio station in New Haven, CT..not Dallas Texas, however the sound company that sent the live feed WAS in Dallas, Texas, just to clear that confusion...I saw Foghat that summer, 1974 at a Portsmouth, Virginia baseball stadium, and they did this exact set...and I went on to see them every time they came back around which was a lot in the 70s....this band was on fire...no frills, no special effects, no artificial preservatives, just straight ahead balls to the wall rock and roll! They had a habit of getting up early in the day and playing live in radio stations all across America, which was far ahead of the curve for the 1970s. Most bands would still be sleeping off the night before's debauchery, but this band was up and at 'em early. That means they played their live set TWICE on those radio station live dates...and that is why they were a razor sharp live band! They were LIVING THE DREAM!

Should be in the Hall of Fame!
You are so right about that. Why they are not is beyond me.
RnR Hall of Fame is more concerned about Dolly Parton and Eminem and anything that isn't rock....what a joke it has become.
